The food is good and the service is good staff is kind and polite I would 10/10 recommend to come here.

My wife and I have been going here for over 30 years and although we moved 25 minutes across the county we still find ourselves coming back. Even with so many Italian restaurant options available we find the food is just better here. The prices are reasonable and the specials are creative. Today we kept it simple and shared a bowl of escarole and bean soup, a Bazzarelli salad and the Veal Bazzarelli entree along with a bottle of wine. The escarole and bean soup is amazing. My husband and I never get to have a date night so we went to this restraint today 10/5. The older blonde hair waitress' action and words were REPULSIVE. First she comes over chomping gum like diner waitress. I'm sorry but I'm paying 26.00 a plate for a nice meal, can you not? Then she proceeds to cough in her hands then proceeds to grab food plates from chef. Didn't wash her hands and her cough was atrocious. Fine. I'm grossed out but we already ordered. I try to wave her down for another drink but she proceeds to eat her dinner right in plain sight while texting. Then she puts down the check after checking on us once, and a minute later she comes back for it. I say we haven't done it yet but will now. She proceeds to sit down at a table across from us, and start talking on her cell phone how she got so "retarded" drinking this weekend and she already smoked a pack of cigarettes. F that f this. Are you kidding?? How unprofessional. I had to get up and hand someone else our bill cause she was on a personal call for a good 6 minutes- more interested in the football games score. Their food is Authentic Homemade Italian. Everything from pizza to pasta are wonderful. It's their sauce, absolutely all well made. Has Portabello Parmesan the other day, WOW it was terrific. We also had Eggplant parm, sliced once and thin, just delicious. We ordered Chicken frances's and Chicken marshals both were juicy, great portions and seasoned just right. I went to this restaurant for a private party. I thought the restaurant was very nice. The food was delicious, as well as, the service. I ordered the veal parmigiana and it was very good. Lovely neighborhood Italian trattoria. Extra points for the full gluten-free menu that covers all the bases. I order the gf risotto with chicken and wild mushrooms and it's always delicious. For a long time, during the pandemic's start through about September 2020, we didn't order from anywhere, not takeout, and we have not dined in since February 2020. Meanwhile, we were having a birthday celebration and decided to pick up takeout from Bazzarelli's. Gotta say, it was SOOOO GOOD, we've ordered takeout/pickup several times more, and we'll be doing it again in February for a family birthday. Admittedly, my friends like the place but to me, it's because they like the nice ownership and the music. BUTTTTTT - i went there just not to be putting off their invitations and the so-called cheaper route. The Eggplant parmigiana (i thought would be safe play) was bland and like paper...The pizza was worse. Burned, tasteless dough and probably same bland, tasteless sauce and then who knows what cheese. Admittedly also, i spend most of my Italian eating at Nicola's (Totowa), Novelli's (Wayne) and a few other "upper" restaurants so it's tough to appreciate this stuff. Wow. Everyone's recommendations were on point. This family owned restaurant is the real deal. Denise and Susan were both great helping me plan my son's baptism. They even set up the room for me the night before the party. All my guests seemed happy with the food and service. The restaurant was able to accommodate my small party and work with the small time frame we had. I ordered the. Veal parmigiana which was delicious, as was the sole. The farfalle vodka was perfect. The salad was not soggy as they sometimes are when a restaurant has to provide for a group at once. We did not have alcohol at the party but they did offer the option of alcohol to our guests at the bar. The drinks were pretty good. Something has changed at Bazzarelli's and it's not an improvement. Been coming here for over 30 years and always enjoyed the food and even recommended the restaurant to many friends. Yesterday I had a dish I always loved, sole almondine. It was like mush! My husband had eggplant and chicken and there was hardly any eggplant and very little mozzarella and sauce was very bland, with the chicken not being as tender as usual. The vegetables used to be sautéed with garlic. No garlic this time, and agsin very bland. Used to enjoy their salad, now it's just slightly wilted lettuce with one cucumber slice and a taste of tomato. I had to talk my husband into going this time because our last dinner there about a month ago had a similar outcome. I told him it was probably just a fluke. Sad to say, it was even worse this time!! So we are done! Oh, forgot to mention the bread! Their bread was always the best, served warm. Our bread this time was like eating cardboard!! Wow.. completely suprised. I have driven by this restaurant so many times and never stopped. Recently went there for lunch with co-workers and had their lunch special...Chicken Parmigiana (the size of a large plate) thin, crispy with mozzarella and their gravy which was very tasty. It came accompanied with a vegetable or potato and a salad...all for $13.99. I brought home the leftovers and next day tasted even better. I will never pass this restaurant again without stopping. I've been to this restaurant a dozen times over the years and never had written a review. The food here has always been good. The portion size is huge and the food is cooked perfectly. The prices are very reasonable and you can tell it has been made fresh. They have an excellent sopa de pesce with a large amount of seafood that is fresh and well -prepared. Great Italian food at reasonable prices. Nice warm bread, great calamari and excellent sauces and soups and the staff is alway warm and friendly. Bazzarelli has been my family's "staple" and favorite restaurant for as long as I can remember! We've come here for all major (and many not-so-major!) family events -- and we've brought many a friend and relative here for delicious and authentic Italian food. My family has discriminating taste in Italian food, since we're of Italian decent, and my parents travel frequently to Italy. This is the only local Italian place that we frequent. The food is excellent. My parents rave about the veal. I'm not a big "veal person," so I almost always order a seafood or a pasta dish. Everything is wonderful at Bazzarelli! Food is good... The place is pretty nice. However, staff needs to work on their professionalism. I called tonight to place a takeout order and was promptly hung up on. I called back to ask this rude respondent what their name was, and he answered "Does it matter?" . He then said "You said you were going to call me back to place an order, do you want to place an order or not?" I then asked if he was the manager and again, this person asked me "does it matter?" . At that point I asked to speak to the manager, who apologized, but profusely defended this uncalled for , unprovoked rudeness. I will not be ordering from or dining at this place ever again. Meh. I appreciate the history and the story of this place but the food did not impress me. Mussels were gritty and marinara was bland. My seafood risotto was plenty of rice not a lot of seafood. Shrimp was rubbery and over cooked. Pizza was soggy and limp. Service was attentive however I hate seeing the group of waiters all sitting at a table yucking it up while waiting for their tables to finish eating. I've been to this restaurant a half a dozen times over the years and it has always been good. I agree with another reviewer who wonders why this place doesn't have more people. It is great. Anyway here's the rundown: Food: 4 and half stars: The lasagna was outstanding and almost as good as my Grandma's. (Key word ALMOST) The portion size is huge and the food is cooked perfectly. What makes their lasagan interesting is they don't use a lot of sauce. The prices are very reasonable and you can tell it has been made fresh. They have an excellent linguini de pesce with a large amount of seafood that is fresh and well -prepared. It came a little under sauced which rarely happens in Italian restaurants. When I asked for more marinara, it was brought promptly and the extra sauce helped a lot. The only complaint I have is that they forgot to remove the little chuck muscle that attaches to the scallop. No big deal but its the little details that turn 4 star into 5 star restuarants. My girlfriend had the penne vodka which she said was outstanding. Both times she got it, she was very pleased with her choice. She also liked the lasagna I had most recently Service: 4 and a half Stars: Service was friendly and professional. No Complaints! Atmosphere: 4 Stars: The restaurant is nearly empty every time I go there which is surprising considering how good the food is. The restaurant is clean and professional although I did have to wait for a table to be cleared but that's a minor complaint. Overall Bazzarelli's is as good as it gets when it comes to Italian. Been to Bazzarelli's a few times, and I must say, the place is really growing on me. The food is good, and I can vouch for the pizza, calamari, mussels, and the chicken francese. If you go when it's packed, they try to please everyone, which results in a few minutes of you waiting for the waitress to come back, but that's normal. I'd be complaining if we're waiting and the place was dead. Overall, the people are nice. The servers are good and friendly, and after a while, you'll be known as a regular. If the parking lot is full, you can actually park across the street from their parking lot. It's a smaller lot. One minor complaint... There should be some type of changing table from the wall in the bathroom, they got room for it. Sucks changing diapers on the floor. read more

Went here for date-night with my husband. The ambience isn't really for date-night, there are a bunch of tables in very close quarters so it's not very intimate. For appetizers, we ordered calamari which was delicious; lightly breaded and fried just right. I have tasted fried calamari in other places and it was never this good. Loved the entrees as well. I had a chicken dish and my husband had the risotto. We were too full since the appetizers/entree portions are generous so shared a Tiramisu for dessert. Desserts are a good deal at 4.5$. What I didn't like was the noise level, it was a little too loud for us. There was a T.V in the dining room which advertised their establishment; it was a little odd. I've been visiting yelp.com for a little while now, and today finally decided to post a review - my first review is for Bazzarelli! Me and my husband went there for the first time more than 1 year ago when we first moved into a town nearby. We were impressed about the food that time. Last night we finally made our trip back there again. The entree are delicious, we had Capplini Arrabiata and a Tortellini pasta dish. Portions are big enough and the price is so REASONABLE. Dessert tasted like homemade. The Tiramisu and Caroli are so delicious - and only $4.5 each. Capchinno was great and authetic too. They have so many drinks that look really good - I'm 5 months pregnent but I'm going to try the Coconut Martini after giving birth, sounds sweet :) read more

This review is strictly about the service. The food was good. I walked in and the waiter was sitting at a table, he looked surprised by a woman walking in for lunch alone. The dinning room had 2 other tables, another came in while I was being seated. My drink order arrived quickly at which time I gave him my food order. The bread was fresh, warm, crusty excellent. I ordered the ravioli with vodka sauce, on the menu it read that a salad with house Italian dressing came with the meal. I also had to place an order to go which included an antipasto. I asked if Italian dressing came with the antipasto, the waiter said "yes". I said "make sure it comes with it I will pay for it if it doesn't." The waiter went away for quite awhile...then here he comes with the entree, no salad. Ok I let this slide although I really wanted to try their Italian dressing. When I finish my entree, I reach for the dessert menu because I saw a tortoni on it earlier and I haven't had one of those in years BUT...my waiter shows up and I'm hit with the drive by check...didn't ask if I wanted dessert and coffee (which I did) just threw the check in front of me. Later when I brought the antipasto to my friend there was no Italian dressing either and I was way to far to go back. So the moral of this story boys and girls although this isn't fast food check your to go bag. read more

The service was ok, however there was a bit of confusion over ingredients. When I asked about what was in the meat ravioli I was told by my server it was pork. Then he came back and stated it was beef. I asked if there was any veal and he seemed a bit confused. I do not eat veal that was why I asked. The dish came and the meat was so tender I believed it to be veal. I asked to see the manager who showed up a few minutes later. To her credit she assured me there was no veal in the ravioli by bringing me the label from the packaging. Call me picky, but I did appreciate that. Mother's Day again. As last year, this place is a loud as it can be. The ceiling is low, the walls are hard, and there are dozens of babies and young children, so it's to be expected. I went to try this place out with a restaurant.com gift card. I have to say I was very disappointed. I waited a LONG time for everything! We had a seafood pasta and a calamari pasta. Our main entrees tasted like they just came out of the freezer. The highlight of the evening was the minestrone soup. It was absolutely fantastic. The server was friendly but not at all attentive. I was introduced to this place for a rehearsal dinner and I was impressed with the all the entree options. I enjoyed my dinner, and it also seemed like everyone enjoyed their food as well, which is always impressive to satisfy large parties. Since then, it has been a go to place for my husband and I, when we want comfort Italian food. Portions are large and it always hits the spot. I will never order Bazarelli again...I ordered from Uber Eats at 5:30 and the order was scheduled to be delivered at 6:30 - it then changed to 7:15 and then 7:30. If Bazarelli's is having an issue with Uber Eats perhaps they should not affiliate themselves with the delivery service. I have 2 kids that are going to school tomorrow...I called two times to check on the status of the order - The first time I was put on hold and no-one answered the phone, the second time I spoke to the bartender and then I received a call from the manager trying to explain this was not her fault. The pizza is ok but the entrees are awesome. They are a full service restaurant but also have a take out area. Also the take out menu is slightly different than the restaurant menu. It was a very smart business move to have the take out menu a little cheaper. The sauce that comes with the stromboli is out of this world, I keep it for the rest of the week to use with my cooking.
