This locally owned sandwich shop is amazing. The dining room is spotless with a mix of booths and tables. Blues/jazz plays over the speakers. You order and pay at the counter and find a seat. The menu offers reasonably priced breakfast and lunch items. The burgers are made fresh in house, so I ordered the bacon cheese burger with fries. The burgers are huge and cooked well done. With bacon and cheese, the burger is really tasty. The bun is good, too. The toppings were fresh. The fries were good with a spice. I loved my meal. My husband had the gyro with fries and thought it was really very good. The owner/manager is really friendly and engaged with patrons. The fellow that handles the dining room (delivering food and bussing tables) is a sweetheart. We were checked on several times. Restrooms are super clean and nice. What's not to love?! A wide variety of options - from shrimp burritos to chicken salad to tuna steaks - I can't imagine not finding something that sounds good. We were warmly greeted and the place was clean. I felt like maybe only the owners were working and was worried it might be slow but we got our food fast, nice and hot! This cafe is delicious and unique! It is a hidden gem with great sandwiches and wraps with a Mediterranean flair. All of the ingredients are really fresh! They do have shortened hours so plan this either for breakfast or lunch. The carry out was only a quick wait! The inside also has great seating and good vibes! We will definitely be returning, they have a large menu so plenty to chose from for everyone! I do think preparedness is a key to good customer service :) i ordered a chicken quesadilla with a side of cheese. i couldn't substitute out the sour cream for the cheese . the owner is sometimes short but he always exchanges pleasantries. i personally think this cafe is pricey and cant make this a regular because $10 for lunch every day is a bit much. they are clean, cozy and convenient. it's never overly crowded. i was introduced to it by someone who lived out of town . my chicken was perfectly seasoned! the portion was more than enough. they also serve a full breakfast and it's next on my try list, although i don't see that they serve turkey meat products. They use spot check in got rewards and you can place your order over the phone. They have plenty of private front lot parking right in front of the door. read more

Came in at 1:30pm for lunch and I am starving!! However, I walked into the cafe and found the entire place empty with the exception of 1 table. There were 3 or 4 people seated and 1 standing. They all turned and looked at me when I walked in, but no greeting. Very intimidating, like I was interrupting. So I smile and move to the counter hoping someone would greet me and ease my discomfort. Nope! No one at the counter. Ok, I'm leaving then, guess I have to go to a fast food place, that I hate! It's rare to encounter a sandwich shop that wows you, however, the efficiency and menu options really impressed me. The owner/manager (?) was working the cash register and his confidence, friendliness, and speed gave the impression that the entire place was a very well-run machine. The people in the kitchen were also sharp and the entire place was spotless. The staff is friendly and the service prompt if you're in a hurry. They have a diverse menu serving appetizers, breakfast and lunch. Breakfast options include pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast specials and omelettes (served 8 a.m.-11 a.m.). Many lunch options ranging from quesadillas, tacos, burritos, burgers, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches (blackened tilapia, clubs, Philly, steak, ahi tuna), soups, gourmet salads and combo sandwich specials. They also serve hummus, mozzarella sticks, steak, chicken shawarma and Gyros. Desserts (cookies, brownies, rice pudding, fresh fruit) are also available. Prices are affordable ranging from $8-$11. A delicious neighborhood brunch spot that I can't recommend enough. This restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming small strip mall attached to an apartment complex, but inside, it has a ton of character and love put into it by the owner Amin, who's been running it for 6 years. He's super friendly and I look forward to greeting him every time I come. There's a huge number dishes listed on the blackboard above the counter, and I've visited half-a-dozen times without eating the same thing, and the food has been consistently excellent! The only complaint I have is that it's so good I usually finish it very quickly! Every day there's a new lunch special that are just as good, so I can safely recommend them as well. The only downside is that the place closes at 3PM every day, which limits it to a breakfast-lunch place instead of being able to stop by after work. The food is of high quality is at the top end of any deli or cafe that I have been to before including 35 years of living in Chicago and its North Shore and many travels to major U.S. cities on business and personal trips. I have brought small groups and individuals, and everyone commented how really good the food was and they would be returning. Not shabby. This is definitely a no-frills establishment but you could definitely tell the chicken noodle soup was made from scratch - I thoroughly enjoyed the large carrot chunks. My soup was paired with broccoli salad which reminded me of a church pitch-in version of broccoli salad. Ya know, the kind that's super soggy and swimming in sugar. Bbi is a great spot for those craving sandwiches, soups and salads (they also have tasty french fries - that pair nicely with your healthy soup -consider it a trade off ;). I'm sad to see a good business go downhill. My last review of this restaurant recommended it as a great place to visit. Unforyunately, I can't recommend it again. While it is clean and welcoming, the reason I go to a restaurant is primarily the food. I ordered the fish (cod) and fries. I was served two mismatched pieces of fish and a side of soggy fries with excessive seasoning. I'm not sure if I have cod and some mystery fish, two mystery fish pieces, or what. What a nice surprise for lunch! This deli is clean, has its own parking, and was playing a slew of Dean Martin hits while we decided what we wanted. This is a place you place your order at the counter, and if dining in, take a number so it can be brought to your table. I liked that the tables already had the napkins and silverware (salt & pepper shakers too) ready for the customers. The menu items are listed by menu type on a large blackboard behind the counter. We hadn't looked at the menu online, so when we first arrived, we saw the list of specials and then began navigating through the options. The owner asked if we were ready and we let him know it was our first visit. He said to take our time! Granted, we were the only ones in line that early in the lunch hour, but I appreciated the greeting and the lack of pressure to make a choice. I went with the Pesto Chicken Wrap which comes with a side. I went with their fries which are served with blackened seasoning. The fries were quite tasty and had just a bit of heat that set them apart from standard fries. The wrap was sliced on the bias and stacked for presentation. There were lots of fresh and crisp spinach leaves along with diced tomato in the wrap. The pesto was more of an accent flavor on some of the first bites, probably due to where it was applied during the wrapping process, but as I got down into the wrap farther, the presto became more of a contributor to the full flavor. My wife's original choice of a fish and chips special wasn't available, so the owner suggested a couple other fish items. She went with the tilapia without realizing it was served blackened. She also ordered the fries, but I knew that they came seasoned. The owner quickly stated he could easily make them regular (salt only), so she went with those. Considering that she doesn't like spicy (hot) food, she thought the sandwich pretty good, but would have preferred it with less seasoning. Still, she mentioned that the place exceeded her expectations and thought it was a nice place to catch a meal. Overall, it was a pleasant trip to a new place for lunch without settling for the same old fast food crap so many places serve. Our senior social committee from Orthoindy Foundation YMCA wanted to find a place we could meet monthly allowing our members a variety for our individual tastes, which we all agree, BBI definitely has more than satisfied all our taste buds! I work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a large group of us came in for lunch today and the service we received was so above and beyond. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming when we enter an establishment, but the people of BBI Cafe treated us with so much graciousness and kindness. They were so accommodating, patient, and generous. I work very close to BBI and frequent this lunch spot maybe 8 times a year. It's not too fancy, always quick turnaround, and the prices are fair. My favorite lunch options are the gyro combo with fries or the chicken finger BLT wrap with fries. Their fries are great - slightly crispy, and covered in seasoning salt. Met a friend here for lunch on Friday. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I was pretty indecisive about what I wanted (everything on the menu sounded good).
