Finally decided to try BBQ From the Curb after hearing from family and friends how good it is. I stopped by on a Wednesday, not realizing they're only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They happened to be working on a large catering order--lots of food--so I waited. Once they finished, I asked for a 2-meat combo. That's when they let me know they were actually closed and didn't have any sides available, but the owner was kind enough to still offer me brisket. I also asked if I could try a rib, and he threw in two small ribs for me to sample. The ribs were delicious--fall-off-the-bone with a light smoky flavor. The brisket was moist, tender, and had a nice smoky taste. The bark had a heavy dose of black pepper, a bit more than I prefer, but my wife loved it when I brought home the leftovers. Overall, a great experience, especially considering they took care of me even though they were closed and busy with catering. I appreciate the hospitality, and I'll definitely be back to try the tri-tip and chicken!

First time coming here after hearing great things about it. I like how they have the option to order online. We were coming from out of town so its nice not to have to wait so long. The online ordering had some issues (when ordering the combos that offers two sides, we were unable to select one side, not a second side), but it was still very convenient. We ordered the 3 meats, 2 sides dish with an extra side. Got the tri-tip, ribs and brisket. For the sides we tried the coleslaw, mac n cheese and potato salad. The tri-tip was amazing. It was tender and flavorful. Absolutely delicious. The ribs had good flavor and the meat coukd easily be pulled off the bone. The brisket wasnt the best. Although seasoned well, it was a bit tough and dry. The coleslaw was crunchy and good. The Mac n cheese was delicious with a unique flavor. The potato salad had pickles on it which i thought was different (but i love pickles so it worked for me) was EXTREMELY salty. Not sure if it was just a matter of over seasoning this batch or if that is how it's made every time. Needless to say I wouldnt order it again though. Overall the bbq tri-tip made it all worth it.

I came here today to investigate what the smoke was about. The service was fast after I placed my order mid-afternoon if that makes a different. Driven by for the last couple of months and have seen a line which tell me the food is good. I order a 2-slider combo for $17 with brisket and tri-tip. The meat was tender as it should be, moist, not overly smoky and seasoned well. I also order a half rack of ribs for $15, and the portion was fair and tender as well. The burned ends were my favorite! Overall, a great experience, everything was tender and flavorful!

Stopped by BBQ From the Curb in Manteca for the first time. Overall, not a bad experience -- but a few things held it back from being a solid five-star visit. Parking isn't very clear. You'll need to park in the casino lot to get easy access, which we figured out after a bit of confusion. When we got there around 1:00-1:30 PM, the owner let us know they were already out of pork belly burnt ends. We weren't planning to order them, but if we had, it would've been disappointing -- especially that early in the day. I ordered the tri-tip and brisket with a side, and also got another brisket plate with a side. We requested mac and cheese and potato salad, but were served chili beans and potato salad instead. That kind of order mistake matters -- especially when you're paying around $25 a plate. I don't usually give passes for incorrect orders. It's really just about listening properly and not rushing. Also worth noting: they serve Hawaiian rolls as the bread on the plates. Honestly, that feels a little cheap. I get it -- running a BBQ business isn't cheap -- but Hawaiian rolls as the default bread feels like cutting corners when you're aiming for top-tier BBQ. A quality piece of toast or cornbread would elevate the whole presentation and experience. Still, I'd come back when I can afford another plate -- hopefully when the order is right and they're fully stocked. The food wasn't bad, but the details matter when you're paying premium prices.

I came to check this place out because of the foodie ppl IG reel on this place. You have to get the food to go. I mostly judge people bbq by their brisket. I would have to say their brisket is pretty good. Ribs, burnt ends & sausage was all right. The mac n' cheese made me take a sip of soda after every bite because of too much seasoning. Would I come here often from Stockton, CA? No. My opinion, Smoke & Meat is better.

If you haven't been to this spot then you haven't had good BBQ in the 209! It's all hits and no misses no cap. We been coming here for almost 2 years already and he just keeps getting better. The meats are smoked to perfection with balanced flavor profiles not too much or too little of anything. All of the sides are good but pro tip mix the beans with the mac it's the best chili Mac you will ever have!!! My favorites in no particular order - Burt Ends, Brisket, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, and them Brisket Nachos Mann!! I will say you should come early because he sells out fast but if you serious about your big backery follow him on Instagram and preorder. This spot is walk up only but has a lot of good parking options because of its great location right next to the card room. If you get a chance to talk to the grill master he's super cool good people and the young lady who always takes my order is just awesome! You know it's good when you can smell it before you even walk up! Every time we come here we leave happy - the service and the food here speaks for itself all you gotta do is pull up!!

First visit: Food is amazing. Great sandwich with tender brisket, pickles, onions and bbq sauce on a soft Hawaiian style sweet bun. Ribs are pull off the bone tender with a tangy sauce. Service was ok. Here is the issue. Very small place with just a few folks working. It's a to-go only joint (formerly a hotdog stand). The line gets long and they have to stop taking orders to catch up with boxing up your food. Took 30+ minutes to get to window to order with about 15 people in front of me. Then another 5 min or so to get my food. I would encourage folks to order on their website (which I found while standing in line). Ambiance? Well not really any except the wonderful smell of bbq. The line rolls around the outside and with our current 100+ weather they may want to think of adding some shade structures before their customers start passing out in line! To wrap it all up...would I go for the food again? Absolutely!! Would I stand in line? NO! I will order online next time and see how it goes!! Also to note that their hours/days of operation are minimal so check before you go to make sure they are open!! That all said...that was some damn good bbq!! Smoke on!!

I ordered the 2-meat plate with brisket and ribs, plus a side of mac and cheese--and everything was spot on. The meat was tender and fell right off the bone. The mac and cheese was super flavorful and creamy, and the BBQ sauce had a great taste that tied it all together. It's hard to find good BBQ around here--I used to have to go to the Bay just to get something decent. Service is fast. Just order ahead online if you don't want to wait. Glad to finally have a place like this close by. I'd definitely recommend it and will be back! read more

We got there early so the wait wasn't too long. Food was good. The brisket sandwich was great. The chili went great with it on a cold day. They didn't put bbq sauce or pickles or onions on the pulled pork like we asked but I am sure it would have been really good with it. The potato salad was pretty salty but I enjoyed it. Just tried this place and I was IMPRESSED! Arrived at about 11:45 and there were already 3-4 people in line for the 12pm opening, good sign. Within 10 minutes, the line was almost 20 people, very exciting! The service was exceptional and one of the cooks gave me a few burnt ends to sample while waiting, very cool and DELICIOUS. Got a few meats and they were all great Ribs - Fall of the bone tender Brisket - Perfect combo of smoky and salty with lean meat and fat. I always get brisket when I try new places and this was among the best I've ever had Burnt Ends - These were very delicious. Not sure if possible, but the sample I got wasn't sauced, just had the rub and I liked it more than sauced. If an option, I would certainly get unsauced but you won't be disappointed with the sauce. Had this place before and quality was good when they first started owner was nice with his family assisting, went back today and man what a disappointment ordered some food and one of the guys working there kept walking in and out of the door smelling like weed and just hooking up his friends with food while other customers were waiting in the heat !!! Finally got out food and began to it and brisket sandwich was ok but potatoes salad had a special treat nice long hair in it well at least we tried and gave it an opportunity hope they increase there food quality !!! read more

I waited WAYYYY too long to go try this place. I've seen the lines driving by and heard great things, but I hadn't made it down until now. First of all, I ordered online, I work most mornings and afternoons, so this option was perfect, and I would highly recommend it. I got the Curb platter so I could try almost everything, for the amount of food it comes with it is TOTALLY worth every penny! When I arrived, it smelled so good that I added an order of the Brisket nachos as well. Jose and the team had my order ready within minutes. Hardly no wait, I got all the food, perfect! Then when I got it home ..... Best BBQ around, period. It was all delicious, but the Prime Brisket by far was my favorite with the ribs a close second. I'll definitely be back soon to try the Big Beef Ribs and reup on the other delicious BBQ goodness BBQ From The Curb has to offer! read more

So I went here yesterday ordered the brisket sandwich and a 2 meat combo ribs and the jalapeño sausage with sides of Mac and cheese and potato salad. Okay let me give the positives before the negatives . Brisket sandwich was a 9/10 the little bit I had to taste the rest was for someone else very flavorful brisket the sauce not so much too vinegary. Now to the 2 meat combo the ribs were flavorful but overcooked the jalapeño sausage was bomb ! Wanted links but wasn't on the menu can't have a bbq joint with no links! Now for the absolute worst part of the whole meal the sides I swear in my 48 years on this planet that was the absolute worst Mac and cheese I've ever tasted along with the potato salad I couldn't even stomach it threw it away immediately! The service was impeccable great people also gave me a free water. Other than that with a few tweaks on that Mac no just throw that recipe away and find another one along with the potato salad recipe, bbq would be decent. But I haven't tried everything yet but plan on giving them one more try. read more

Food was good. Tri tip sandwich was great. Potato salad lil more mustardy than I like but not a deal breaker. Cole slaw not for me to sweet. Spent too much in the south, where the coleslaw was sweet and tangy vs just sweet. Ribs bomb. Jalapeño cheddar sausage bomb. It was my first time trying this place since we live an hour away. The food was great 10 out of 10 the only complaint it's that I got the kings platter and they forgot to put the rest of the pork belly in my order and since we are an hour away didn't notice it till we were going eat, also didn't get the pickles but overall it was great. read more

Excellent bbq. Great quality. The only thing I haven't tried are the sides, but I'm there for the meat. I like to judge a bbq place by their brisket since it is the most labor-intensive cut to get right. They hit it out of the park with theirs. The meat is permeated with a fabulous smoke flavor topped off with the perfect bark. And the tenderness is second to none. I will be back as much as possible read more

There were big portions . These days it seems that we get less for our money. The gentleman who took my order was attentive as it took me a while to pick out my BBQ. I love good bbq.I ordered the brisket sandwich. It was huge, but the meat was very dry and the bun was stale. Coleslaw was ok. I'm going to try this place again. As a BBQ connoisseur and someone who grills and smokes their own meat, this place is a small but a good local BBQ spot. I was considering opening a BBQ restaurant but because of them there is no need for that. If you're looking for some good flavorful brisket and ribs this place is a good option! Now for every upside there's a downside... The downside is they're only open Thursday through Saturdays from 12:00 PM until they sell out and they sell out fast. Staff was nice and friendly and customer service was great! read more

We just enjoyed a really delicious meal. We got the brisket sandwich and the tri tip plate. Both meats we seasoned perfectly and wonderfully Smokey and moist. For our sides we had the potato salad and mac and cheese. The potato salad was mustard forward , dilly and delicious. The Mac and cheese had a great cheesy flavor, but unfortunately the macaroni was really overcooked. That was the only downfall. All in all great meal and wonderful service. They even delivered the food to our car in the rain. We will definitely be back read more

Finally had a chance to try this place out, and it didn't disappoint. I can't think of a better bbq spot in the 209. Got some brisket and tritip for the family, with some sides. Kids loved the tritip, i loved the brisket, the chili was amazing, definatly found me new go to bbq spot. read more

Ordered a brisket and tri tip 2 meat plate and only got one slice of brisket, what?! The sides literally outweigh the main meal. Insane. I feel like i got robbed. Smokin & tippin bbq in Modesto and Shorters in Tracy offer a considerable amount of more meat in their plates. The taste was decent. Not bad, but not anything special. read more

The food is not bad. But the quantity and portion is a bit small. Each plate only comes with 1 side and 1 meat, I ask for 2 meat plate if possible. They gave me 1 bone and a half rib as shown below in the picture and I forgot how many oz brisket but it was an ok amount. The service was kinda slow although there wasn't a lot of people in line, but maybe because there was some confusion and arguing inside . read more

The cole slaw was delicious, super crispy and not too sweet thank goodness. We loved it. The mac and cheese was definitely cheddar cheesy, it was super rich so we didn't finish it but it was good. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was made in house and amazing, we loved the bite of the casing. We also ordered a banana cream pie cup and the vanilla wafers were really soggy, but the pudding consistency was great. Staff were super friendly, food was great, and it was packed inside, definitely can see why this is a local favorite with such high reviews.

I will say that I've always been a fan of mobile food trucks as the majority of ones I've been to…read moreover the years have been tacos. However, I had the opportunity trying out one of the more well-known butcher shops to serve San Joaquin County. This is none other than "Fagundes Meats & Catering" which has been a staple in Manteca for decades. Their actual brick-and-mortar location is off of N. Main St/E. Louise Ave in the heart of Manteca while their food truck ventures out to various locations for a variety of community events. In this case, I saw them serving hungry patrons at the Manteca Watermelon Street Fair that took place during the weekend of 6/6/26-6/7/26. To those that know this business already is that they are famous for their tri-tip. In addition to that, they also have other amazing protein options including rib-eye, brisket, pulled pork, Italian sausage, linguica, chicken, and the order I went with, their pork belly. I ended up going with their "Pork Belly Kabobs" and went for the combo deal which included a side (I went with their macaroni salad) and a drink (I opted for a Diet Pepsi). Total price for everything was $17 (which included tax + tip); not bad especially at a public outdoor event. I will say that the pork belly was quite delicious; a little bit on the salty side but nonetheless still a fairly decent portion in each and every bite. I paired it up with their homemade BBQ sauce which had a sweet yet tangy flavor. The macaroni salad was just average for me as it had too much of a vinegar taste while lacking a whole lot of flavor. Overall, I enjoyed this meal as it held me through the majority of the afternoon. I am definitely curious to try their other meats if I end up visiting their actual butcher shop. Overall, the service was excellent considering I was at a busy outdoor event. The line moved quickly while the prices were quite reasonable, even these days where meat prices have become quite outrageous. With that said and done, I am giving the mobile food truck portion of "Fagundes Meats & Catering" an above average four stars. Hopefully I can make a future visit to their butcher shop in the coming months so stay tuned!

In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. Right now, meals are served in to go containers, and they have Costco tables and chairs set up while waiting for their permanent furniture to arrive.
