My go to bbq place with family friends and group party Food is served the moment you place the order completing with banchan and pancake which is very crispy you never go wrong with order c combo which is all fresh beef meals ( brisket,flower meat, prime, finger meat, galbi)all fresh and all you need is a pinch of salt before you eat it Servers are always alert you go in get seated place your orders and the rest just starts coming .. banchan, pancake , steamed eggs and then the meats placed. The prices are pretty reasonable compared to other Korean BBQ places, and the portions are good too. The staff were all really friendly, and I also enjoyed the side dishes, especially the braised tofu. We ordered a combo, which was nice because we got to try different cuts of beef. The meat quality was pretty good overall, and of course it went perfectly with Korean soju. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for Korean BBQ without spending too much. read more

Super hidden gem inside a small strip mall on outskirts of Ktown right outside DTLA and an absolute must try!!! Large meat sets only $120 and serves four!! I came here twice in this month already! Both time the restaurant was not too much crowded though well organized, and I am sure this place is underrated than it should be. I really enjoyed the meat. It was one of the BEST beef I had in k town. I was so surprised and I had to bring my friends here again. My favorite is their beef tongue which is thinner than other places, make it extra delicious. The workers here are so friendly and nice, not like other bbq places. The owner proudly said that they make all the side dishes with extra effort and YESSSS, they were all delicious and fresh. This is a low key, if you know, you know, KBBQ spot that the locals recommend. The clientele is mostly Korean unlike at the more popular, recognizable KBBQ restaurants in Koreatown that have gained a presence because of social media. Since it has a smaller clientele, the ambience is a lot more quiet and it's a lot easier to grab the staff's attention. If you really like fresh banchan (side dishes) with a large variety, this is the right place. Really liked their japchae, steamed egg and salad. Their kimchi is some of the best restaurant kimchi out there without being too sour or soft from over-fermentation. I usually find steamed egg at other restaurants to be really bland, but this one had the right amount of salt. It's probably the best steamed egg I've had. Plus, it's easier to get the banchan refilled as the staff is a lot more attentive than those at other restaurants. While the meat quality can't compare with Park's BBQ's, the quality at BBQ Garden is very good for the price. The short rib and sliced rib eye were excellent with the latter being very marbled which made for it to be really tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, the brisket was rather dry, so this wouldn't be my go-to unless I get the set menu. Overall, if you're looking for a good balance of quality fresh banchan and meats at a more affordable price than the more popular KBBQ names that have earned their name in Koreatown because of social media, then BBQ Garden is the right place. read more

This spot is definitely a hidden gem and an underrated kbbq spot! This is my friends' and my go-to spot now. You can't beat the quality, price, taste, and customer service. There are two female servers there working tirelessly every day, always with a smile on their faces! They run the whole restaurant basically. Please go show support to them!! living in ktown, i eat more kbbq more often than i care to. some visitor or someone in the group chat always wants kbbq, and it's an agreeable compromise. deciding on a kbbq joint is a harder question. as a general rule, i don't do AYCE kbbq anymore. i'm old, and my metabolism isn't quite what it used to be, so i'd rather pay for quality of meat than stuff myself on crap. honestly, i want to gatekeep this place, but i also want this place to stay around a long time. they're not hurting for business, but i did notice ample seating here on a saturday night without a wait (yay). it's rare to see mainly korean customers in restaurants these days, which i nostalgically miss. from what i know, they've been around a few years now, fortuitiously staying under the radar. this place used to be gui il bun ji back in the day. it was one of my favorite kbbq points in the 2000s until it started deteriorating and closing. it's under completely different ownership now, but this place now again might be my pick for kbbq overall in ktown. i love the quality of food here. the unmarinated meats are all great quality (the true indicator of a good kbbq place - keep the bulgogi and marinaded crap to yourselves). side dishes are quality here as well. great gyeran jjim (steamed egg), and their dwenjang jjigae is dank. they do not skimp on any quality here. they even give you the more expensive japanese sesame oil, rather than just some sesame flavored fake stuff. everything is authentic. service is also great. i will be back repeatedly. hope they keep up the stellar food quality and service for years to come. read more

I was with my cousins and brother on a family dinner and this place did not disappoint. Unlike the AYCE places the quality of meats here are fantastic. They have a good variety to choose from and for the first time I wasn't the one ordering for the table so It was nice to sit there while the staff cooked the meat and I ate. Of course always order ghalbi from where ever you go. Short rib is as good as it comes. a few bottles of soju some beer great company and great food my belly was happy. You know a spot is good when after you eat as much as we did we still felt fine. This place is in a shopping center surrounded by food choices. The valet is inexpensive only $3 and with that said how could you not make the drive here. I love being around people who appreciate good food in whole in the wall places in random far places in LA. I want to add to my previous review as I have become a regular for more than a year. I appreciate the cleanes of the place. Most bbq restaurants have slippery oily floors and smoked oily grey ceiling, but this place is super clean all the time. Never failed me on the cleanes. The best part is the quality of the meat. I usually order a combo menu for steamed aggressive and soup. All Banchan dishes have authentic Korean taste as my mom used to make for us. Especially the Jabchae is delicious! Even if it has real beef, not like other restaurants. I would go for many more years as this bbq place is keeping my wallet in balance. read more

A nice little spot with great quality beef located in a busy shopping center. We didn't get the pork but all of the beef cuts we had were super tender and flavorful. You know a spot is legit when other Koreans dine there. The servers were quick and courteous and spoke English and Korean. After the meat we ordered blthe cold buckwheat noodles (I like mine with vinegar) and it was refreshing. I also sampled their peach flavored soju and raspberry wine which paired well with the meal. Parking is tricky but the shopping center offers valet. There is also street parking on Vermont which is free after 4pm. read more

The food is alright. Considering that I can pay less than $10 more per person and get AYCE (with potentially better quality) at one of the many other nearby kbbq places I won't be coming back :/ on top of that, the service left a lot to be desired sadly. Our server never asked what drinks what drinks we wanted, we never got brought water (until I asked), and what sealed the deal was the soup. Our combo came with a steamed egg and soup. We finished our 4 different kinds of meat, steamed egg, and had to wait for our soup. If you look closely, you can see it still steaming in my photo I took after we finished everything else. I hate to say it but steer elsewhere. It wasn't even very busy or hectic. If you have time to bus other tables you have time to be more attentive. read more

Found out about this hidden gem through a friend. Turns out the owner is an old Family KBBBQ, for those that know old school AYCE. We didn't find out until the end (thanks masks). Still, service was excellent. Meat quality was excellent. And best of all, they still have combos instead of AYCE, and price is SUPER competitive. The "family combo" (pictured) is A LOT of meat. I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food because hunger happened, but there was also a plate of marinated beef and pork, along with the usual sides ( steamed egg, soup, etc). We ate and ate and drank and drank. But who am I to tell you how it is. Just go try it. This is the new spot. So maybe don't go. I don't want to wait for a table. read more

Wow ! I don't remember the last time I had such great service in a restaurant. Our server Milan was exceptional. She was friendly, sweet and on top of everything. The food quality was awesome. Meat was tender and the marinated meat was very tasteful. The Korean pancake ohhhh! It was so crispy. The best I've had out of all of the KBB places I had been to. Side dishes were delicious as well. If you want to eat beef for Korean BBQ, I highly recommend this place! For $120 you get a variety of meat options which feeds 3-4 people and the portions are generous. It also comes with steamed egg, stew, veggies and side dishes which were all pretty good. The quality of the meat is also pretty good given the price. The interior is also very clean and they are very good at cooking the meat for you and changing the grill so that you don't eat burnt meat. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely return here again for beef. read more

What a hidden gem. Quality is really good for a hole in the wall. Service is very good. Came at a off time of 3pm but there were 3 other tables. Honestly suprised at the quality of the meat. Got the prime combo L. I saw the meat and thought it was too little as 3 of us can really eat but left pretty full. Also added a rice, 2 bibim noodles (spicy noodles-very good) 2 sojus and 2 beers. This place is solid for a good kbbq and great service at reasonable price. Not an ayce joint but they do have combos which will satisfy your meat cravings. Oh, and their neng myun (cold beef broth noodles) are surprisingly tasty. Not too many people know about this place for they don't advertise. Came here with friends for the first time. It is a newly opened Korean barbecue restaurant. I personally don't like AYCE korean bbq, which the quality of meat is not comparable. This place is not AYCE but their combo price is affordable. Meat quality is very good and service is good. I really liked the pancake and bean paste stew that came with the combo. I don't like marinated meat, so I don't know how it is, but the non-marinated meat looked very fresh and tasted good. I'd like to come back for their lunch special. read more
