Not bad but not one of my favorite KBBQ spots. The options are strictly beef or pork-no chicken. And very limited vegetables. We chose the option for 4 people. Almost everything was spicy. So I don't think we'll return. I was hopeful for this place but sadly quite disappointed. I will say Rosa was an exceptional in setting us up and serving us throughout our meal.

I found out that this place offers Korean dorisak or otherwise called as lunch boxes. The only healthy protein they offer is squid. I wish they had chicken bulgogi or chicken with gochuchang. I bought the lunch box to go and it was delicious. The squid I got was very spicy so next time I'll ask them to make less spicy.

02/18/2026 Getting a group to come here is the hard part. The restaurant was glad we had a big party. We had the choice of beef or pork or beef & pork. We had the all beef. The service is amazing. The food is amazing. We chose ramen instead of the kimchi fried rice. I want the kimchi fried rice next time. The ramen was good and a hint of spicy with the broth. I am glad it is not Smokey with the type of grill this is. I could keep going and waffle out the door.

Did a yelp meet up here, and what a great experience! The food was outstanding. They came by frequently to check on us, check on the meat, and serve items. We ordered the beef and pork combo, and it had a good amount for four of us. It is located in Western Plaza, decent amount of parking, and close to other Ktown places.

Located off Western Ave in Los Angeles in Koreatown. Parking is shared with all the other businesses in the plaza. Met up with friends here. For the BBQ you can choose between the small (2-3 persons) or large (4-5 persons) select between beef combo, pork combo, beef and pork combo or beef intestine combo. We got the large beef and pork combo for 4 people. It was the right amount for the four of us. The service was great here and the workers came by constantly to actually cook our meets and stuff so we didn't really have to do our own cooking like most KBBQ places. The place has a good amount of seating as well. Overall had a great time here and the food was good too. For KBBQ I would recommend this spot.

After the meals the servers make you fried rice and I made myself a heart ~~

First of all the last time I've been here was the previous owner who sold only sold pork belly This restaurant recently reopened with new change of owner and services was so awesome!! I felt welcomed .. So they told us to order small beef combo for the three of us and when the beef combo we told the servers that we need to change to large combo because the meat looked to little but by the time we stared eating the large beef combo was too much for us to eat ( we should have listened to the servers) we even ordered neng-myeon and we also had fried rice included with the meals. We were so stuffed that we had to take the rest of the food home for lunch tomorrow The owner was nice enough to have us taste the craft beers that they sell at the restaurant. They have free parking spaces and all the servers were alerted to ready to serve every table accordingly. The interiors were nice and the music had a nice vibe ..

This might be one of the best KBBQ spots I've been to! The sets are very affordable and large, easily feeding 4 people, my 2 friends and I got the small pork combo and couldn't even finish everything. Each set comes with the meats, a large selection of banchan (their cucumbers are SO GOOD), steamed egg, corn cheese, and your choice of stew! The meat quality is excellent and even traditionally cheap cuts of meat like pork belly I felt like the quality was spectacular. The service here is exceptional, they grill the meat for you, frequently refill banchan, and the owner is also really kind! When he heard it was our first time here he even gave us free drinks! I loved it so much I even wrote an article for it for my uni's class lol :) Anyways if you're ever in the area make sure to check it out I hope they stay in business for a long time so I can keep going back and bring my friends too!! https://medium.com/@alin88/hwayeon-korean-bbq-9448be161917

My family stopped by after seeing an Instagram reel featuring the cold noodles and galbi combo. The location is convenient with ample parking. The cold noodles were okay, though a bit sweeter than expected for the spicy version. Unfortunately, the meat garnishes were missing on both the spicy and regular cold noodles compared to the photos online, which was a disappointment. Service was excellent, the owner was very attentive and welcoming. If they make minor adjustments like including the garnishes and balancing the sweetness, this place could be even better.

Didn't get to eat anything but I'll at least give them a star for good music. Ordered pork belly combo, they brought pork combo. I let the staff know that wasn't what I ordered and they looked at me like I was crazy, told me I didn't order that, then told me they don't have what I ordered and expected me to eat what they brought. It really felt like they just didn't want to make my order right and were shocked when we left. I used to go to eight all the time with my wife and hoped we could relive the glory but that wasn't the case here. update: I originally posted this review to Google and the restaurant responded asking me to remove the review because I was confused and they didn't offer that item. The item was on the menu, I specifically ordered it. My only goal in all of this was to eat a nice meal with my wife but instead we were treated poorly and had our time wasted. Response: The Eight Assorted Pork Belly is on the current menu and is listed as the number 4. You can see it in the images here on Google. This was why my experience was so bad. They tried to gaslight me in the restaurant about what I ordered and now they are trying to gaslight me in Google about what is on the menu. Now they want me to remove my review because of my confusion? Are these people insane?

Was craving pork and decided to try this place out. It's similar to Pigya but the portions are huge! The small combo was more than enough for 3 people. Combo included beef, pork, jjukkumi, and fried rice at the end. The bibimmyun was also really good

We came as a group of 9 and thankfully, they allow for reservations if you are a group of 8 or bigger. Take note! Especially in this LA peak heat. We checked in with the valet and they gave us menus as we waited about 15/20 minutes for the table to be ready. You will need to order before you are seated and you cannot order anymore food once you are seated, given how popular they are, this makes plenty sense. We were seated inside with cooling AC and the restaurant is quite large inside! It could certainly have several parties in there. Soon, our galbi kalguksu, XL chicken kalguksu, tteokbeokki and XL pork jowl and pork belly bossam showed up. Everything was extra delicious and fresh. The soups in both the galbi and chicken kalguksus were amazing and the hand pulled noodles were divine. We drank and ate everything up quickly. The tteokbeokki was delicious, but too spicy so the rest of the party was able to enjoy it. The bossam was all so tender and had just enough napa and garlic to go with it along with the many unique sauces we could dip all the meats in. Everyone left feeling happy and it satisfied everyone's palates.

It was one of my favorite spots for kalguksu, so I was excited to come back. We visited on a Saturday around 2:00 PM. The first thing that stood out was the wait. There was a line outside despite there being numerous vacant tables inside the restaurant. I'm not sure why customers were expected to wait outside, especially during the current LA heat wave, when seating appeared to be available. While waiting, we were given menus. The first thing I noticed was the price increase. The clam kalguksu is now $22.99, which felt quite expensive, even accounting for inflation. Once seated, we were served the rice with doenjang paste and the three varieties of kimchi. Unfortunately, I found almost all of the kimchi to be noticeably saltier than I remembered, with the exception of the radish kimchi, which was enjoyable. I honestly don't remember the kimchi tasting this salty in the past. It even made us wonder whether it was intended to discourage customers from requesting refills, though I hope that wasn't the case. We ordered the new beef rib kalguksu and the clam (bajirak) kalguksu. The beef rib broth was overwhelmingly salty for our taste, to the point that I mentioned it to our server. The hand-cut noodles themselves were still excellent, but I also noticed that the clam kalguksu contained significantly fewer clams than I remember from previous visits--roughly half the portion I used to receive years ago. The noodles remain well made, but it's difficult to justify the current price when the portions seem smaller and the broths are considerably saltier than before. What originally made this restaurant special to me was its fresh, clean-tasting broth, flavorful kimchi, and generous amount of clams. Unfortunately, my recent visit didn't live up to those memories. With so many excellent kalguksu restaurants in the area, I don't see myself returning. I understand that restaurants evolve and may adjust recipes to appeal to a broader customer base, especially since most of the diners during my visit appeared to be non-Korean. However, I genuinely miss the balanced flavors, generous portions, and value that made this restaurant stand out years ago.

This salad was beautiful and fresh! Everything you want in a salad and more. I love the sweet corn in this salad too. Every ingredient balance each other so well. We also got the scallop pancake. This was the dish I always wanted to try here but after eating it, it felt a bit heavy compare to the other dishes. It was okay but the other dishes shined more. If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
