We absolutely adore this place! The food is absolutely delicious, true soul food that cant be beat anywhere else in the Covina area.

The chicken and waffles were good. Definitely need to try the catfish and shrimp lunch next time around.

I'll be honest... I overlooked BBs because they do not have much curb appeal. Their restaurant is hidden and their sign is fading. But when I tried the waffles I literally came back the next day to order it again. If you love breakfast foods definitely must get the waffles. There are random days I crave specifically BBs waffles. The chicken wings is also good and lightly seasoned. Maybe too light for me as I am used to very flavorful heavily seasoned wings now a days. But that could be a plus for other people. The restaurant itself is very small and the exterior is sad to be honest. I think if they revamped it a little it would gain A LOT more attention because this restaurant is EASY to miss. I didn't care much for the fries which was the fat type. I much prefer skinny fries. Coleslaw didn't really have a refreshing crunch which is what I am looking for in coleslaw. The fried catfish was simply amazing. Crunchy on the outside and bursting with juices on the inside. Paired with hot sauce (*heaven*). I would recommend anyone ordering fried catfish to eat it on site while it is piping hot. When it cooled down it was not as good. Service: Exactly how a small mom and pop restaurant should be run. The owner was cooking in the back and a young lady in the front. Both were extremely friendly and checked up on their customers to see if they were doing okay. Environment: While this is located in old town covina, it is located in the outskirts of old town. There's limited parking in the immediate area. Indoor seating is limited to 4 tables. As I sit here and write this review I am overtaken by comfort and happiness. BB's Cafe was everything I had imagined it would be and more. From the moment we walked in to place our order we were greeted with a warm welcome. We ordered chicken and waffle, fried catfish with the two sides being Mac and cheese, and baked beans. We got to watch as she made our order fresh! The moment we were given our order we were hit with the incredible smell that was coming from the bag. We sat in agony as we drove home and were ready to devour this meal. Upon first glance I knew we were in for a treat! The catfish plate came with 3 hush puppies, a large piece of bread and let me tell you it was HEAVENLY! My first bite of catfish was so light and crispy, once I discovered the bread on the bottom I knew I had to combine them and that's when I immediately was hit with FLAVOR! Then the Mac and cheese which had the perfect amount of cheese and texture was wonderful. The baked beans mmmmm boy were they delicious. Defintely the spot to try If you're looking for a savory brunch. This place is on a corner of a busy street and it's very small inside. We went on a Saturday morning before the lunch crowd and found a seat. You walk in and order thru a window and your food is brought out to your table. They have a couple tables outside also. We tried the chicken and waffles, and they were fresh and delicious. It comes with 3 nice sized chicken wings. The breading on the wings was perfect. Not too salty, extra crispy and great flavor. The waffles are served with a dollop of butter and 2 squeeze bottles of syrup and hot sauce. The hot sauce wasn't too hot, more on the tangy side. The waffles were hot and fresh and not soggy. We also ordered a side of collard greens, and it came out piping hot with 3 mini hush puppies. The greens were fresh and hearty and were cooked perfectly. The hush puppies had great flavor. Their ice tea is homemade and delicious. 1 free refill. I defintely recommend this spot. The prices are decent for delicious food and the service is awesome. We stumbled upon BB's cafe when we were headed to Fiesta Parade Floats. This little cafe has 3 tables inside and one outside, and is sort of a hidden gem. Located a little north of the main downtown area. The staff was so friendly and fun to talk to. Known for the chicken and waffles, we were tempted, but needed something a little quick and portable to take with us if need be. My husband had the breakfast burrito, which was large, but tightly rolled around bacon, eggs, and cheese, it was delicious! I had the potato burrito, it was filled with perfectly cooked hashbrowns that were crunchy and perfectly cooked, scrambled eggs and cheese. It was so delicious, I couldn't stop eating it. This is a very good unique place for Covina. It is very small but their food is full of flavor. The chicken and waffles are the best. I often get waffles from restaurants and I get disappointed because by the time you get home, the waffle is soggy. However, with BB's waffles, they cut slits in the container so that the warmth has a place to release which prevents a soggy waffle. This place is a true gem! Not only is the food excellent , but their customer service is impeccable! My elderly mom and son went to BB's twice this past week for lunch and were blown away by how good the food and service was. My mom said this is the "best pulled pork" that she has ever had and at age 89, this is quite a statement. Their portions are big, so much so that even my "always hungry" teenage son had leftovers. My mom was told anytime she wants to come in she can call ahead and they will always have a chair available for her. Today we made it an effort to place and order before closing time and we were so glad we did!
