100/10!! Delicious, a must try if you're in the area. The staff was incredibly friendly, the inside is small, but do not underestimate this place. Was recommended by a friend and well worth it! We will return.

Good Grub, Southern Comfort Soul food! My friend had the Chicken and Waffles, which is their signature dish. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'm not judging, any time is the right time for this one! I had the Pulled Pork on a sesame seed bun with mild sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. For the side dish I had a scoop of their Mac n Cheese, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. I also had onion rings, which were perfectly seasoned and not oily or greasy. This little cafe is small, but their home-cooking and family recipes pack a big punch! They are so nice and helped me make my decision because there was so many of my favorites it was not easy to choose (shrimp, ribs and hot links!!). Street parking is limited, they do not have a private lot, there is a parking structure one block north, its easy to find across from the Metrolink train station. BB's Cafe reminds me of going to a family friends cook out. They serve you the freshly made food in bio degradable plates and I think it adds to the family cook out feel. I ordered the entree waffle and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! The waffle was warm and the breakfast burrito was a unique soulfood-Mexican fusion that works really well! The location is right off the street, so it is convenient to pull up and grab your to go order. They have a clean sitting area, and have flyers for local events that I appreciate too. You can tell it's a positive business to the local community. The staff is friendly and helps you make decisions if you're a first time customer. They recommend the chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos. The only thing I would have liked was to have water with ice. They only have canned beverages and bottled water. I'm not a big soft drink person, so having water with ice would have been nice.

The food is wonderful! Freshly cooked crispy chicken and waffles reminded me of my Nana and my Mom's cooking. We used their catering service to get a pan of prepared uncooked Mac and cheese for our family's Easter celebration. The directions were spot on. Our family recommends the sweet potatoes and greens too!

We decided to come here after church because of yelp review. It did not frustrate our expectations. The food is great. The chicken, waffle, and fries. They have limited seating that can only occupy 12 people on three tables. But service rendered by DK is awesome. The price for the food we eat is considerably cheap. BB's Cafe serves fresh ingredients and cooks to order. The Chicken (4 pieces) & Waffle costs $14.95. There's no line, and I waited 11 minutes. I arrived 9AM on a weekend. The chicken is freshly cooked. The skin is lightly crisp and dry. The chicken is not oily; rather, the ingredients taste clean and fresh. The pieces are small, and its bone is thick. The chicken had very little seasoning. It's a freshly cooked chicken with little flavor. The warm, thick waffle is more memorable than the chicken. The waffle is firm, fluffy, and filling. The melted butter and syrup added to the waffle's savory taste. BB's Cafe is small. There's three small tables with chairs inside. There's no bathroom for customers; the server recommended walking across the street to use the park's bathroom. Thankfully, they provide a tiny hand-wipe for customers to wipe their hands. Also, BB's Cafe does not offer water in a cup; if customers want water, they need to purchase a water bottle. In addition, the indoor dining area is chilly from the open door. Bring a jacket if you want to eat inside this winter. And parking is very limited. If customers can't find nearby street parking, customers must park across the street and walk over. I recommend ordering to-go. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They greet the customer as you enter and leave. Overall, BB's Cafe is a good experience. The food is fresh. It's not unique, memorable food, but it's a satisfying bite.

First time in the area and found BB's Cafe on Yelp so I had to try a Black Owned Restaurant and it did NOT disappoint. Michelle was SO KIND and knows how to hold a conversation. I learned more about her and her mom, BB. BB even greeted me. Customer service is TOP TIER!!! Now.... I had chicken and waffles. The price point is what really had me. But then the FOOD is literally chef's kiss. The chicken was fried so perfectly, golden and season so well. It was just right. The waffle is a waffle but it was GOOD. I really wanted the 5 piece chicken and to order Mac and cheese until I was saddened to hear there was no more Mac and cheese. I also went an hour prior to them closing. But I originally did go for chicken and waffles and I was satisfied. It is a small location and have about 3 tables that sit 4. I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant so I was content but there are a lot of open spots. It is a great location and perfect for a nice to go order. I can't wait to come back because Michelle made me feel like family and BB's food is to brag about. I can't wait to try more if I am in the area again.

This tiny store front is really intended to be a pick up location rather than a sit down restaurant. There is some seating, but only for a maximum of 12 inside. Their specialty is their fried chicken and waffles. I loved their chicken, with its very southern, deliciously seasoned cornmeal crust. It made the pieces come out quite juicy and flavorful, and had a great crunch. I only wish they were full pieces, not 4 smaller but plump, wing parts. The waffle was not my favorite. I prefer a crisp crust. This one was spongy made from a relatively bland batter. But they did serve it with real butter, and butter goes a long ways to improving the shortcomings. I popped my leftovers in my toaster the next day, and that helped. I ordered an extra side of Mac & cheese (for research purposes, of course!) but it did not win my heart either. I am always on the hunt for a sharp Cheddar cheese recipe, and this tasted more creamy, like American cheese quality. I am also a big fan of a buttery baked crumb topping, but this had none. If we returned, I would most likely buy the chicken by the piece and skip the sides. Peach Cobbler, just ok. The crust was too doughy for my tastes and lacking in flavor as compared to another cobbler we had purchased that same day from a different Soul Food restaurant. The filling was also quite soupy. They also offer smoked meats which they smoke in a different location. Mr B ordered a brisket sandwich to go, which he later described as being too lean for his tastes. It had plenty of meat and was sauced up with a good tasting, sweet Bbq sauce. This came with a choice of 1 side. The employees were very sweet and attentive. And the prices were reasonable. I only saw parking on the street. Not sure if more is needed, actually, considering they are so tiny.

Super cute and cozy. You know you are about to get some good home cooking. Indulging at this black woman owned gem was an absolute delight. Every visit feels like a warm embrace from the moment you step in. The aroma of soulful home-cooked dishes fills the air, promising a feast for both the palate and the soul. From crispy fried chicken to velvety mac 'n' cheese, each bite transported me to a place of comfort and tradition. The owner's, who was cooking in the kitchen, skill shines through in every perfectly seasoned dish. This place is an absolute gem in Covina. I have been waiting to try this place for a longtime. I finally stopped by and ordered 2 breakfast burritos, unfortunately. I was disappointed. They were very expensive and small for the price, paid $26! The burrito was mediocre to say the least, it tasted greasy of old or too much grease. Should have gone to Alfredo's instead. I will try the place again, I want to give it another shot and try some of the other options. read more

I came here with my family, they ordered the chicken and waffles and i ordered the catfish plate. Everyone was so nice, the food tasted home cooked and was seriously delicious. When we got home every single one of us had to take a nap, if thats not a sign of a meal made with love im not sure what is. Also, no matter what you order, finish it off with the banana pudding. 10/10 hands down. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try this little gem and today was finally the day. It's a small store front with about 3 tables inside and a table outside. The young lady that took our order was very nice and welcoming. The menu is small, but I knew exactly what I was going there for and that was for the chicken and waffles. My boyfriend had the fried catfish with fries and Mac n cheese. The food was absolutely delicious! I already had high hopes for this place and they absolutely delivered! I don't even know how to describe the wings. If you like your wings juicy and have the crunchiest and have just the right amount of batter, bb's wings are the right place to start. I literally bit into the wing and the juices were coming out already. So good! The workers there were funny and you can feel the love they put into their food. The place also is decorated with love. Get their waffles too with the butter on top; that thing is super light and flavorful. read more

The fish was perfectly seasoned and fried. Lightly coated and deliciously crispy. The greens were the perfect balance of meaty and bitter. Add the hot sauce; you won't regret it. The Mac & Cheese was definitely yummy. The shrimp just like the fish were cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the plump and firm shrimp. First time here and I thought it was amazing! I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac cheese and baked beans. They also gave me a couple hush puppies on the side. All of it was so amazing and very filling. The pulled pork wasn't dry at all and there was more than enough BBQ sauce. Which most places don't put enough, so this was wonderful. The mac cheese and baked beans were so wonderful, I think anyone would enjoy it. The staff was extremely friendly and was more than willing to answer any questions we had. They even came over to check on us during our time of eating there. It's an extremely welcoming atmosphere. I definitely plan on coming back here to try more food! read more

BB's Cafe! The sign in front of this blink and you'll miss it spot has been teasing me for a while because I was never in the area during business hours (they close at 2:00 PM). A literal hole in the wall with limited hours is universally considered a "MUST TRY" amongst my foodie clan. Well, one house purchase later and I now live close enough to do this. We (because of course I brought someone with, SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS!!!!!) got the: Breakfast burrito with hot link Chicken and waffles Mac n cheese Fried okra Collards with smoked turkey Peach cobblah (true spelling, fight ya mama) Strawberry lemonades Excuse me while I address Ms B.B. directly. You put yo foot in that Chicken fresh, hot, seasoned to perfection and the pieces were big. Waffles fluffy and toasted to just the right consistency. I could go on but just Now past the food, the vibe is chill with really good smooth jazz setting the tone and yo favorite play cousin Michelle at the window cracking jokes and giving the extra special service with a smile. They call you by name and feel like family before you leave. So come down and get some fire food and some laughs with BB and Michelle but get here before the food runs out. Almost passed this cafe. Just a little past the downtown stretch of Covina, it's a small storefront cafe with a small A-Frame sign out front. When we walked up we almost left. The inside was so small and we had 5 of us. But, we saw 5 stars on Yelp and thought, what the heck, let's give it a shot. I had seen someone comment on it some time back too and had wanted to try it out, so in we went. My wife, Gwen, and I both ordered breakfast burritos - pork and bacon. My kids ordered the chicken and waffles and the BLT and crinkle cut fries. The first thing I tried was the fries and they were awesome. Strange as they looked like regular old crinkle cut fries but they were super good. Next up was the chicken and waffles. The chicken was perfectly crispy and yet tender and juicy on the inside. The waffle was Belgian style but the batter was different in a good way - perfect with the chicken and a little syrup. My 12 year old daughter was in heaven enjoying that breakfast! The BLT was equally as good and our burritos beat out our old fave standard - Grand Burger. All the dishes looked 'normal' but instead possessed a soul of their own, stepping up the taste and comfort game. Definitely give it a shot! We'll be back to try dinner as I love collard greens, pulled pork and banana pudding. read more

Where do you go with three picky kids, a carnivore, and a vegetarian? Here! Veg hubby got the potato burrito, one kid got two servings of hash browns, and the rest of us got waffles and bacon or chicken. All delicious. The service was exceptional. We happen to be in the neighborhood and got hungry. I looked up restaurants in the area and saw this had 5 stars and over 800 reviews. Of course we checked it out. It's a small place on the corner so don't miss it. Let me tell you this place earned their 5 stars!!!! Service was amazing, food was amazing! I got the chicken and waffle and my wife got the pulled pork sandwich. We didn't ever offer each other any and we each ate all our food. We live in Ontario and we will be back! We already told people who live close by to go check out BBS cafe!! Also, thanks for having us. It was close to closing on a Sunday. read more

I walked 20 minutes in 95 degrees for this lunch and it was worth it! Authentic soul food is so hard to come by on the west coast and BB's Cafe made my Tennessee heart happy! So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

Most items serve three to four people, so come with a hungry party and prepare to take leftovers home. The crispy pata (a deep-fried pork knuckle) had a lot of flavorful and juicy meat. While this dish is inherently fatty, there is still meat to cut off. The kare kare (beef chunks, tripe, and vegetables with a braised peanut gravy) tasted good. The rich flavor was also influenced by vegetables, such as eggplants and long beans. Some of the beef chunks were a little fatty. The lumpiang Shanghai arrived late into our lunch because we had to follow up with our server. While they currently charge $23 just for this appetizer, the portion size was much too small. It seems that with this specific package, you'd get a smaller appetizer portion. The bihon (thin rice noodles) and canton (thick egg noodles) pancit mix tasted adequate, and we had no complaints. I enjoyed the kenchi steak the most. This dish is beef shin topped with bone marrow served on a sizzling plate with gravy and vegetables. The beef had a thick texture, and the potatoes tasted soft and lovely. It was filling and noticeably better than the items in the tipid package in my opinion. Lastly, even though we visited around noon, they unfortunately didn't have halo-halo (a Filipino milky shaved ice with fruits and preserves) available as a dessert. At the end of the day, this is a solid restaurant with large portions and well-seasoned flavors. I definitely see why it's a family favorite for many.

BB, the owner, and DJ, her amazing employee, run a lovely boutique spot right in central downtown. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with welcoming smiles and the inviting smell of delicious food that draws you right in. I tried their Big Daddy Burrito, and let me tell you--it was absolutely phenomenal. Stuffed with perfectly smoked meats and just the right amount of sauce, it's the perfect BBQ burrito. But the star of the show was their Smoked Brisket Sandwich paired with mac 'n' cheese and BBQ beans--an absolute flavor explosion! The atmosphere is fantastic too. The music playlist is on point, creating the perfect vibe while you enjoy your meal. And the customer service? Exceptional! This was close to our Vrbo and what a gem it was! Best coffee we've had in days! The food was amazing, the service incredible! We were welcomed like family. Even the local patrons were friendly. The food came out fast and fresh! Everything impatient New Yorkers could want. The hush puppies... mmm... adored by our little ones. The yams, collard greens and fried okra delicious! BB's Cafe's slogan should be "come hungry, and leave as family". My Family and my self (group of 10) are staying near by on vacation, and were looking for a place for breakfast. A quick google search lead us to BB's, and it did not disappoint! It's has a small seating area, and a simple menu. All the food was cooked by Mom and everything was amazing, and delicious. What truly made this experience was Michelle. She took our order, severed our food, and made our day. Warm, friendly, and funny. This place is so quaint! Michelle is a sweetheart and was very attentive and friendly. As soon as we walked in, she smiled and introduced herself and asked for our names and called us by our names during our entire visit. Was brought here with my friend since he recommended it. Super friendly staff, made me smile as soon as I walked in the door they made me feel as if I were at home. Very clean and organized and the food smells/tastes fantastic! Would highly recommend the sweet tea its phenomenal! The pricing is very affordable and the servings are a good size. I woke up this morning craving some waffles, so I stopped in this place because of it's 5 star rating...and I can't even lie, it was pretty good. I wish they had more available hot sauces, but overall it was a great experience. The waffles were moist and the chicken was nice and crisp. I think Roscoe's might still hold the spot in my heart, but this place is a close second! read more

Im having the pulled pork sandwich and it's the best I ever had with steak fries and BBQ beans! The service was even better. Michelle greeted us with a smile and took our order immediately. This is probably my favorite place in OC. If you're going to splurge, this is the right place. It is located in a plaza and they have so many different kinds of brwakfast which in my opinion are the best in town. A server name Inho was nice enough to help us and the service was extremly great as well as the taste. Definitely going to come back! read more

I worked down the street and never knew this place existed. I happened to drive pass it today and thought I's stop in. I'm glad I did. The 2 ladies were fabulous.
