Good Grub, Southern Comfort Soul food! My friend had the Chicken and Waffles, which is their signature dish. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'm not judging, any time is the right time for this one! I had the Pulled Pork on a sesame seed bun with mild sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. For the side dish I had a scoop of their Mac n Cheese, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. I also had onion rings, which were perfectly seasoned and not oily or greasy. This little cafe is small, but their home-cooking and family recipes pack a big punch! They are so nice and helped me make my decision because there was so many of my favorites it was not easy to choose (shrimp, ribs and hot links!!). Street parking is limited, they do not have a private lot, there is a parking structure one block north, its easy to find across from the Metrolink train station. BB's Cafe reminds me of going to a family friends cook out. They serve you the freshly made food in bio degradable plates and I think it adds to the family cook out feel. I ordered the entree waffle and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! The waffle was warm and the breakfast burrito was a unique soulfood-Mexican fusion that works really well! The location is right off the street, so it is convenient to pull up and grab your to go order. They have a clean sitting area, and have flyers for local events that I appreciate too. You can tell it's a positive business to the local community. The staff is friendly and helps you make decisions if you're a first time customer. They recommend the chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos. The only thing I would have liked was to have water with ice. They only have canned beverages and bottled water. I'm not a big soft drink person, so having water with ice would have been nice.

The food is wonderful! Freshly cooked crispy chicken and waffles reminded me of my Nana and my Mom's cooking. We used their catering service to get a pan of prepared uncooked Mac and cheese for our family's Easter celebration. The directions were spot on. Our family recommends the sweet potatoes and greens too!

We decided to come here after church because of yelp review. It did not frustrate our expectations. The food is great. The chicken, waffle, and fries. They have limited seating that can only occupy 12 people on three tables. But service rendered by DK is awesome. The price for the food we eat is considerably cheap. BB's Cafe serves fresh ingredients and cooks to order. The Chicken (4 pieces) & Waffle costs $14.95. There's no line, and I waited 11 minutes. I arrived 9AM on a weekend. The chicken is freshly cooked. The skin is lightly crisp and dry. The chicken is not oily; rather, the ingredients taste clean and fresh. The pieces are small, and its bone is thick. The chicken had very little seasoning. It's a freshly cooked chicken with little flavor. The warm, thick waffle is more memorable than the chicken. The waffle is firm, fluffy, and filling. The melted butter and syrup added to the waffle's savory taste. BB's Cafe is small. There's three small tables with chairs inside. There's no bathroom for customers; the server recommended walking across the street to use the park's bathroom. Thankfully, they provide a tiny hand-wipe for customers to wipe their hands. Also, BB's Cafe does not offer water in a cup; if customers want water, they need to purchase a water bottle. In addition, the indoor dining area is chilly from the open door. Bring a jacket if you want to eat inside this winter. And parking is very limited. If customers can't find nearby street parking, customers must park across the street and walk over. I recommend ordering to-go. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They greet the customer as you enter and leave. Overall, BB's Cafe is a good experience. The food is fresh. It's not unique, memorable food, but it's a satisfying bite.

First time in the area and found BB's Cafe on Yelp so I had to try a Black Owned Restaurant and it did NOT disappoint. Michelle was SO KIND and knows how to hold a conversation. I learned more about her and her mom, BB. BB even greeted me. Customer service is TOP TIER!!! Now.... I had chicken and waffles. The price point is what really had me. But then the FOOD is literally chef's kiss. The chicken was fried so perfectly, golden and season so well. It was just right. The waffle is a waffle but it was GOOD. I really wanted the 5 piece chicken and to order Mac and cheese until I was saddened to hear there was no more Mac and cheese. I also went an hour prior to them closing. But I originally did go for chicken and waffles and I was satisfied. It is a small location and have about 3 tables that sit 4. I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant so I was content but there are a lot of open spots. It is a great location and perfect for a nice to go order. I can't wait to come back because Michelle made me feel like family and BB's food is to brag about. I can't wait to try more if I am in the area again.

This tiny store front is really intended to be a pick up location rather than a sit down restaurant. There is some seating, but only for a maximum of 12 inside. Their specialty is their fried chicken and waffles. I loved their chicken, with its very southern, deliciously seasoned cornmeal crust. It made the pieces come out quite juicy and flavorful, and had a great crunch. I only wish they were full pieces, not 4 smaller but plump, wing parts. The waffle was not my favorite. I prefer a crisp crust. This one was spongy made from a relatively bland batter. But they did serve it with real butter, and butter goes a long ways to improving the shortcomings. I popped my leftovers in my toaster the next day, and that helped. I ordered an extra side of Mac & cheese (for research purposes, of course!) but it did not win my heart either. I am always on the hunt for a sharp Cheddar cheese recipe, and this tasted more creamy, like American cheese quality. I am also a big fan of a buttery baked crumb topping, but this had none. If we returned, I would most likely buy the chicken by the piece and skip the sides. Peach Cobbler, just ok. The crust was too doughy for my tastes and lacking in flavor as compared to another cobbler we had purchased that same day from a different Soul Food restaurant. The filling was also quite soupy. They also offer smoked meats which they smoke in a different location. Mr B ordered a brisket sandwich to go, which he later described as being too lean for his tastes. It had plenty of meat and was sauced up with a good tasting, sweet Bbq sauce. This came with a choice of 1 side. The employees were very sweet and attentive. And the prices were reasonable. I only saw parking on the street. Not sure if more is needed, actually, considering they are so tiny.

This place is super small. There menu is pretty simple-for breakfast chicken and waffles, breakfast burritos, or a BLT. Had a BLT and my sister had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was soft and buttery and the chicken was nicely crisp. The BLT was good, simple almost like a home made sandwich. Would be cool if they had eggs or some more breakfast sides. read more

Absolutely love this place. It's woman owned which makes it even better. It taste like somebody granny trapped in the back cooking cause goddamn it is good. For awhile I was coming here every weekend for breakfast. I get the wing meal all flats with yams and Mac with a side of baked beans. There hush puppies are super flavorful I can eat them all day. Hot link sandwhich taste like home. I've tried the whole menu it's amazing and not once ever has my order been wrong! I love these ladies. A really nice choice for your brunch needs. The place has friendly staff and cute decor. My fam ordered takeout of chicken+waffles and the fried catfish w/ side of coleslaw and mac n cheese. Everything was delicious! Chicken was tender/juicy and catfish was flavorful. I'm usually picky about Mac n cheese but BB's did theirs perfectly. Will take bf with me next time to try the fried catfish :) read more

Yessssss!!!! This month my husband and I were on the quest to find the best breakfast burrito in the city of Covina and I think we found our winner!!! It's at BB's cafe. Before I get into the food - I just want to say that every time you come here, you will see BB and she is so sweet ! Also, everyone that works the cash register is also super friendly. Breakfast burrito is so on point. Perfect amount of cheese, perfect sized hash brown. Hash brown and bacon are still crispy even when you bring it home to eat. It's just so good! I have already had it twice. Also, I did try their chicken and waffles the 2nd time and the chicken is sooo good. The skin is thin and crispy and the flavor is fantastic. The meat inside is juicy no matter which piece you get. It's just so good! You can purchase 3 pieces for less than $3 a la carte which is also a deal Please come to BB's Cafe!!! I want them to do well!! They deserve to do well and be crowded!! It's really really good food read more

I frequently pass by this place and noticed there was always people going inside. I wish I would have tried it a lot sooner! I ordered the chicken & waffle for my son and the mac n cheese & waffle (a la carte) for myself. The waffle was slightly dense which is perfect for the doughy chew and it is truly all around amazing! The mac n cheese is cheesy and flavorful, although, the pasta is on the softer side. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy, and so yummy when paired with the Louisiana Hot Sauce. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Hours: Closed Mondays & Tuesdays and are open until 3:30 pm all other days. Gets a little crowded at noon and is less busy in the 11am hour. read more

My family ordered two burritos (one with bacon, one with hot links) and an a la carte waffle. The waffle has good flavor and excellent consistency, perfectly golden on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. I thought the price was a bit high ($7+) for one waffle, so overall I'd give it 4 stars. The burrito, however, was dry. It seems that the hash browns were overcooked. In addition, the eggs were over scrambled, as in there were scrambled to the point of becoming nothing but crumbled tiny pieces of eggs inside the burrito. The bacons were in thick pieces and was good. I'd give the burrito 3 stars. Love the intimate feel of the place. It is small with 3 tables inside. I really wanted to love it, but the burritos were disappointing. We might come back and try the chicken and waffle. read more

We were in the area and thought we'd try this quaint southern place. It was yummy! Three chicken & waffle plates done right! It was delish. Chicken extra crispy, hot but ever so moist! This place is the bomb! First the food: had chicken and waffles, fried catfish w/ collard greens and mac n' cheese, and the pulled pork sandwich w/ fries and potato salad. Everything came out piping hot, fresh and DELICIOUS! Portions were generous and filling. Definitely want to explore the rest of the menu. Finally the service: EXCELLENT! The food came quickly. Monica (owner?) was so sweet and welcoming. Our server Michelle was funny and attentive. We really had a FANTASTIC experience and will definitely be back. I've noticed this place for awhile. Finally got some time to try this place out. Both my gf and I were wondering how awesome would be for a place with 5 stars and these much reviews. I have to say, we were not disappointed. We ordered chicken waffles, and breakfast burrito. OMG. There were sooooo good. The fried chicken was extremely crisp outside, and juicy flavorful inside. I love the waffles so much, it was fluffy and tasty. The best part to me was the breakfast burrito!!!! Those bacon, potatoes, and eggs just mixed so well, rich of flavor!! Happiness in my mouth. At the end, we heard other table costumer was talking about the banana pudding, so we got one Togo. What else could I say, a great meal with a wonderful dessert, friendly owner made my day. read more

I tried this place because Yelp rated this place as one of the best places for chicken and waffles. All the reviews for this place are spot on. A little hole in the wall that truly serves up the best chicken and waffles I've "ever" had and that's saying something since I'm over 60 and tasted some good chicken and waffles over the years. The chicken is lightly crispy on the outside and tasty and juicy on the inside. The hot sauce that you can put on your chicken was perfect and compliments the chicken very well. Not too hot or over bearing. The waffle is a little crispy and oh so soft. Tasted great with the butter on it. My wife loved her chicken and waffles too. The service was great too. A couple had just left so we asked for a rag to wipe the table and they came out right away and wiped it down for us. Going back often to get my chicken and waffle fix. Great comfort food! read more

Yes PLEASE!! Michelle and her mom are amazing. This is probably my favorite food in the SGV. Each item, every side, EVERYTHING was phenomenal. Even down to the hot sauce! Catfish was perfectly crisp. We had the chicken and waffle plate, and the catfish special with baked beans and greens as sides. Previously have had the breakfast burritos, and the pulled pork. Everyone talks about Roscoe's chicken and waffles... but have they had BB's?! So glad I finally tried this place after passing by it all the time. For less than $10 you can get 3 generous pieces of chicken and a waffle. It's made to order so it may take a bit for your food to come out. The chicken had just the right amount of breading and was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It tasted even better with the hot sauce! The waffle has a hint of cinnamon, and honestly didn't even need the maple syrup. Definitely drench it in the butter though! =P They also have specials such as ribs and catfish, and sides like collard greens and mac and cheese. I'll definitely have to come back and try more things on the menu! The space is small - about 8-10 seats, 3 tables. read more

Best chicken and waffles I've ever had! The waffle was fluffy and the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Roscoe's has nothing on this place! We felt as if we'd eaten in someone's home. We can't wait to try the other dishes on their menu. This place operates on the old premise of great food at great prices and they will come. read more

I'm part of BREAUX Capital a company built by and for black male millenials. I was looking for a Black-owned cafe to meet a BREAUX at this past Wednesday, he was coming from LA, me from Riverside, CA. It took a while to find something that wasn't Roscoe's but I managed to stumble across this gem and I'm glad I did. We got there at opening and were met with the smell of greens cooking in the kitchen. I don't know why that put a smile on my face but it did. I'm used to maybe the smell of fried chicken everywhere when it comes to soul food type spots. The owner welcomed us in with a smile from ear to ear. The place is a family-owned business in an intimate space. I liked that you weren't overwhelmed with menu choices but you also didn't feel limited as they had everything from breakfast burritos to wings, fried fish, waffles to the usual sides. They also had great tunes playing the entire time. I ordered the potato burrito for breakfast and the orange juice, my BREAUX had the bacon waffle with coffee. My burrito was a nice size and flavorful and he enjoyed his waffle and coffee. They offered free refills and kept checking up on us making sure we were good. We stayed for maybe 3-4 hours. We were discussing a product he'll be launching soon and the owner's daughter came and we started picking her brain. She's a comedian and overall good-hearted, intelligent woman so we had lots of laughs, some great conversation, made genuine connections and got some useful advice. BBs is it! I had a great experience. They have some good people working there. And the experience matched the quality and taste of the food. I'm big on flavor and they got it. I got the potato breakfast burrito (and I asked for the cheese to be swapped for baked beans) and they were willing to take my request! Service was excellent but the food was very disappointing. I went in here thinking I was going to get really good food based on all the positive reviews. Long story short, the peach cobbler was gross and watery, the baked beans tasted like they were straight from the can, green beans were plain, yams were okay, the catfish had no flavor, and the pulled pork sandwich was dry and flavorless. The only good items me and my mom enjoyed were the condiments served and the Mac and cheese. Wasted my $48 read more

My father's meal arrived significantly later than the rest of the table's, and basic needs--such as coffee refills for my mother and water for the table--were never addressed. No one checked in to see if we were satisfied with our meal at any point. Gratuity Policy: Regarding the 18% gratuity for parties of six or more, I completely respect the policy in principle. However, when the service does not meet basic expectations, being told I must pay a specific dollar amount--in this case, $40--feels intrusive. I am someone who genuinely enjoys leaving generous tips in cash to reward good service; being forced to pay a set amount for a subpar experience felt less like a gratuity and more like an unjustified surcharge. I believe your establishment is capable of much better. I hope you take this feedback into account to ensure future holiday guests receive the transparency and quality of service that originally made me a loyal customer.

BB's Cafe's slogan should be "come hungry, and leave as family". My Family and my self (group of 10) are staying near by on vacation, and were looking for a place for breakfast. A quick google search lead us to BB's, and it did not disappoint! It's has a small seating area, and a simple menu. All the food was cooked by Mom and everything was amazing, and delicious. What truly made this experience was Michelle. She took our order, severed our food, and made our day. Warm, friendly, and funny. This place is so quaint! Michelle is a sweetheart and was very attentive and friendly. As soon as we walked in, she smiled and introduced herself and asked for our names and called us by our names during our entire visit. Was brought here with my friend since he recommended it. Super friendly staff, made me smile as soon as I walked in the door they made me feel as if I were at home. Very clean and organized and the food smells/tastes fantastic! Would highly recommend the sweet tea its phenomenal! The pricing is very affordable and the servings are a good size. I woke up this morning craving some waffles, so I stopped in this place because of it's 5 star rating...and I can't even lie, it was pretty good. I wish they had more available hot sauces, but overall it was a great experience. The waffles were moist and the chicken was nice and crisp. I think Roscoe's might still hold the spot in my heart, but this place is a close second! read more

My first time here and I had to stop eating my food to leave this review cause that just how good it is!! Im having the pulled pork sandwich and it's the best I ever had with steak fries and BBQ beans! The service was even better. Michelle greeted us with a smile and took our order immediately. This is probably my favorite place in OC. If you're going to splurge, this is the right place. It is located in a plaza and they have so many different kinds of brwakfast which in my opinion are the best in town. A server name Inho was nice enough to help us and the service was extremly great as well as the taste. Definitely going to come back! read more

I worked down the street and never knew this place existed. I happened to drive pass it today and thought I's stop in. I'm glad I did. The 2 ladies were fabulous. Made me and my mom feel right at home. I had the chicken and waffles which in my opinion is better than Roscoes. Looks like I've found a home. read more

Food here was amazing. The waffles we got was fluffy and the chickens were juicy. But what was more amazing was the person serving us, Michelle (if that is how it is spelled). She was so nice and funny. Recommended to take your kids here, she'll make them eat your food! read more
