This place is super small. There menu is pretty simple-for breakfast chicken and waffles, breakfast burritos, or a BLT. Had a BLT and my sister had the chicken and waffles. Before I get into the food - I just want to say that every time you come here, you will see BB and she is so sweet ! Also, everyone that works the cash register is also super friendly. Breakfast burrito is so on point. Perfect amount of cheese, perfect sized hash brown. Hash brown and bacon are still crispy even when you bring it home to eat. It's just so good! I have already had it twice. Also, I did try their chicken and waffles the 2nd time and the chicken is sooo good. The skin is thin and crispy and the flavor is fantastic. I ordered the chicken & waffle for my son and the mac n cheese & waffle (a la carte) for myself. The waffle was slightly dense which is perfect for the doughy chew and it is truly all around amazing! The mac n cheese is cheesy and flavorful, although, the pasta is on the softer side. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy, and so yummy when paired with the Louisiana Hot Sauce. Absolutely love this place. It's woman owned which makes it even better. It taste like somebody granny trapped in the back cooking cause goddamn it is good. The waffle has good flavor and excellent consistency, perfectly golden on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. I thought the price was a bit high ($7+) for one waffle, so overall I'd give it 4 stars. The burrito, however, was dry. It seems that the hash browns were overcooked. In addition, the eggs were over scrambled, as in there were scrambled to the point of becoming nothing but crumbled tiny pieces of eggs inside the burrito. The bacons were in thick pieces and was good. I'd give the burrito 3 stars. Love the intimate feel of the place. It is small with 3 tables inside. For less than $10 you can get 3 generous pieces of chicken and a waffle. It's made to order so it may take a bit for your food to come out. The chicken had just the right amount of breading and was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It tasted even better with the hot sauce! The waffle has a hint of cinnamon, and honestly didn't even need the maple syrup. I was looking for a Black-owned cafe to meet a BREAUX at this past Wednesday, he was coming from LA, me from Riverside, CA. It took a while to find something that wasn't Roscoe's but I managed to stumble across this gem and I'm glad I did. We got there at opening and were met with the smell of greens cooking in the kitchen. I don't know why that put a smile on my face but it did. I'm used to maybe the smell of fried chicken everywhere when it comes to soul food type spots. The owner welcomed us in with a smile from ear to ear. The place is a family-owned business in an intimate space. I liked that you weren't overwhelmed with menu choices but you also didn't feel limited as they had everything from breakfast burritos to wings, fried fish, waffles to the usual sides. They also had great tunes playing the entire time. I ordered the potato burrito for breakfast and the orange juice, my BREAUX had the bacon waffle with coffee. My burrito was a nice size and flavorful and he enjoyed his waffle and coffee. They offered free refills and kept checking up on us making sure we were good. We stayed for maybe 3-4 hours. We were discussing a product he'll be launching soon and the owner's daughter came and we started picking her brain. She's a comedian and overall good-hearted, intelligent woman so we had lots of laughs, some great conversation, made genuine connections and got some useful advice. A little hole in the wall that truly serves up the best chicken and waffles I've "ever" had and that's saying something since I'm over 60 and tasted some good chicken and waffles over the years. The chicken is lightly crispy on the outside and tasty and juicy on the inside. The hot sauce that you can put on your chicken was perfect and compliments the chicken very well. Not too hot or over bearing. The waffle is a little crispy and oh so soft. Tasted great with the butter on it. My wife loved her chicken and waffles too. The service was great too.
