The food was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and so well balanced. The catfish itself was some of the tastiest crispiest fish I've ever had. The catfish was actually sitting on a slice of white bread which was such an intentional detail and definitely aided in keeping the fish crisp and not greasy at all. The Mac & Cheese was amazingly cheesy and had such a comforting taste. The collard greens were so yummy and I loved finding pieces of turkey and dipping my white bread in the juice. The lovely ladies down at BB's gifted me a slice of cornbread, and it was the perfect surprise the crispy edge piece was perfection and really topped off the entire experience for me. I loved every bit of this plate so much. A big thank you to the beautiful women who took my order and made my food. Just had this for brunch earlier today, and everything was delicious! We had the chicken and waffles and the pulled pork sandwich with sides of greens and mac and cheese. The chicken was juicy with a nice crispy skin and the waffle was soft and springy, served with butter and syrup I could not get enough. My husband and I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of Mac and cheese. The chicken was just okay for the both of us. The crispy coat did not have too much flavor to us. My husband liked the Mac and cheese but I like my mac and cheese to be more on the creamy side. However, the waffle is the best waffle I've had by far. It tasted strongly of vanilla and was soft and warm on the inside. I ate it with just the butter and it was heaven! I'd go back for the waffle alone. What's especially important about this restaurant is that is black Arnold and women on. I will suggest that you support them just on those two accounts along. The restaurant is small so if you come with a group large group, you have to know that there's only 3 tables with four chairs each so that's important because my group was a group at nine and fortunately there was enough seating for us, but if the restaurant was busy, then we were, we would be at a loss. I ordered the pan fried catfish with greens and cheese eggs. My meal was OK. I took a risk because all of the reviews say that the fried chicken is the bomb but no one mentioned the catfish. Let me just start with saying there are no restrooms for you here.... I really can't understand why someone would open a restaurant and NOT have it available for customers to use. So I would say that this place is not kid or pregnant lady friendly... you are also serving fried chicken and you're eating with your hands.... But you can't wash your hands... obviously there is a restroom in there, if you're not allowing people to walk to the back... are you hiding something?? Just something to consider. Other than that the people are fine, not super nice or mean, cordial. The fried stuff was good, the waffle was decent but the pulled pork we did not finish. The food is not bad, but we probably won't be coming back. Did I add that you have to pay .25 for a cup of ice.... I mean you already don't let me wash my hands and use the restroom... GIVE ME SOME ICE! Anyhoo they don't take Apple Pay so have you cash or card ready. Parking is not easy to find- a few in the front and across at the park. Just street parking. read more

The cafe is small only 4 tables but the hospitality and quality of food was big time. I was greeted by Michelle who gave me the rundown on the menu items. She mentioned some of the most popular items for breakfast were the chicken and waffles and the breakfast burritos. I tried the waffle with bacon. The waffle was one of the best I have had. I had my doubts about this place, it's an unsuspecting little spot. But this is honestly the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. And the Mac n cheese is amazing, it doesn't taste cheap like a lot of high end places make it. Overall 10/10. BB's is located at the north end of Downtown Covina on Citrus Ave. It's a small shop with limited seating. There was no one there when my family arrived so we were able to get a table right away. We asked for water to drink however, the ladies there say it's a rule they can't serve water and we need to buy a bottle from them. That's weird because I can get water from every other restaurant I go to... We decided we would try a bunch of things: Chicken & Waffle, Breakfast Burrito w/ turkey bacon, Pulled Pork Sandwich w/ Mac & Cheese and Fries, the Hot Link Sandwich with onion rings and baked beans, and for dessert, the Peach Cobbler. As a restaurant, I was surprised that the owners seem unaware of allergy ingredients, especially in this day and age. I asked if the pulled pork meat was gluten free and they looked completely confused at my question. I clarified and asked if it contained any wheat ingredients because my son was allergic. One lady was condescending and said, "No, it's pork". I had to clarify again and specifically ask if the pulled pork sauce contained any wheat ingredients because some sauces do and she seemed to finally understand and said no. Everything we tried was average, just ok. The burrito and chicken were on the bland side and could've used more flavor/seasoning. My kids said the pulled pork and hot link sandwiches were just ok. Waffle was ok, nothing special. All the sides were good, fries and onion rings were crispy and yummy. The baked beans were good, but tastes like the ones I get in the can. The Peach cobbler made me sad. Peach Cobbler is one of my favorite desserts and I can make a pretty good one if I do say so myself. However this one looked terribly unappetizing and tasted bad.
