First, the place is nasty. Walk in the front door and it's easy to see it's not been cleaned in a long time. Entry way is full of debris, windows full of prints. Everything inside is dirty or sticky. The service was poor, guy behind the stove top was rude and not friendly. When I got my bowl I had several ingredients I didn't pick as he slopped food around the cook top. Here's the crazy part. $7.00 for a soda? Two drinks, $14.00. Absolutely crazy. Will never eat here again. Deserves zero stars. read more

Not many places like this in the area, I love getting to customize my own stir fry with what I want. Food is delicious and fresh. Definitely pricy but it's nice to go once in a while. The food is very filling so I usually only need one bowl, although you can do unlimited bowls if you choose. This place also gets very busy so keep in mind that you may need to wait. read more

Back in the day, Mongolian Grill was THE place to go. I went to college in Naperville, and that location was the "fancy" spot to go out while in college. One cost for all you can customize & eat?! Sign me up! Feeling nostalgic one day, my BFF and I decided to schedule dinner here and met up in Bolingbrook. Our server was funny, quick and helpful. The server role is not as prominent, since the customer builds their meal and brings it to the chef, but they still visited often. The meals are absolutely filling and one bowl is enough - even if you don't think it is! But, I'm always a glutton for punishment and load it up and force myself into a second meal. I've never had a bad meal at a Mongolian Grill, but I am pretty good with flavors and love to cook. Just be mindful of what you're mixing and ask for help or recipes if you get overwhelmed! read more

This was our second time there and we wondered why it took us so long to go back. We liked it a lot the first time but even more so the second time. My husband said we will start going more often. The choices and quality of the food is extremely good. I chose the beef and bacon for both of my trips and the beef was of excellent quality not frozen and tender when cooked. The only thing I was disappointed in was I didn't see lamb and I thought there was lamb the first time so that was quite a bummer but certainly not a deal breaker. One reason we are not giving it 5 stars is because when we got there we were seated immediately but than sat for about 15 minutes without being noticed. I went up to the cooking station figuring I would get a head start since it was getting close to dinner time and we purposely tried to get there earlier to beat the crowds I was hoping to at least get one helping without having to wait a half hour standing in line at the cooking table. After the 15 minutes I got up and went to the host station and asked if we were gonna get waited on. The young man immediately summoned a waiter and we were helped immediately. I'm assuming they must be short on staff. The other thing was we ordered eggrolls as an appetizer and thank goodness we didn't wait for them to come to go up and get our hibachi portion of the meal because we got back to our table and finished our first bowl and had to ask the waiter where the eggrolls were. He said he would go check on it right away and said that they were ready but somebody else took them so they were making us another order. It seems the place is overworked and understaffed as many businesses are, but the waiter we had was very good once we got him. And very helpful and personable. So overall, I would love to give this restaurant a five star rating and maybe next time these little hiccups will be remedied and we will be able to bring up the rating to a 5-star review. And there will definitely be a next time because the food was so awesome. read more

This place should be shut down with how they handle the food at the buffet. Chicken and meet shouldn't be out in the open and raw chance for high and unsafe temperatures. Which allows bacteria to grow. Also they put raw food on top of the grill where the cooked meet comes off. That is cross contamination. I wish a health inspector was there. read more

This mongo is better off served as a quick service restaurant. Food is still adequate but the experience is no longer worth the visit. Coming from someone who worked at this Mongo location years and years ago, I saw this restaurant in its prime. Servers were kind, the grillers were fun and edgy, the food offered was more extensive, and eating there was an experience. This is all gone. Over the last couple of years, they stripped the entire salad and soup bar, don't offer as many food options on the line, they took away some great sauces like buffalo, limited their spice options, took away half the fun of being there as you no longer stand to watch your food cook (they give you a ticket and bring your food later), and the level of service has dropped tremendously. The last few times my wife and I have gone, we've ran into some issues with servers. As of late, our server, Joel, was extremely uncomfortable serving us, had attitude, and was clearly unable to take on the workload of the tables he was seated. At one point I asked for ranch which he replied that they don't carry ranch any longer. It was clearly an excuse to not get us any because once I showed a look of confusion, he rolled his eyes and turned to the hostess stand and frustratedly asked someone, "can you get this guy some ranch?", verbatim. It showed up minutes later. I understand not allowing guests to stand around the grill during the Covid shutdown but that should have been temporary. While things are now open (it's summer 2023), this experience needs to be brought back. Otherwise, this idea of make your own stir fry should be made into a quick service restaurant. Disappointed to see where things have gone with this shop. What was once a fun time and good food, this is just a poorly managed, low value, restaurant. Proceed with lowered expectations. read more

Just took my plate. I told him my allergy and he again barely acknowledged between singing rap music. I told our waiter. He said I will talk to him. Oh he did talk to him the laughed in the corner with t my e manage.r. Ares the cook was amazing, he definitely made the food well without overcooking anything. Even when the business picked up he continued cooking with excellence!!! Ana our server was amazing, she was attentive and made sure our requests were completed in a timely fashion. We travel from Milwaukee, WI (1.5hours) to come to this BD at least 4 times a year and the level of excellence between the cooks, the servers and the manager (Jackie) is what keeps us coming back to this specific location. One server and one chef is not enough to serve 20 tables, and the managers should be sacked for this. We had to wait 30 minutes just to get a horribly wobbly table. The single waitress wasn't able to get to us for another 15 minutes. From our table we watched many people walk in and then walk right back out because nobody was at the front to greet and seat them. Overall this is a good make your own stir fry restaurant. They have tons of toppings to choose from and the bowl size is generous. Rice, lettuce wraps, or tortillas are served at your table to eat with your bowl. You watch them cook your food and then bring it back to the table. read more

However, there are sanitation stations and wipes for your hands before and/or after contact with the utensils. Grab a close seat (my preferences. Well this is the first time that I have been to a BD's Mongolian Grill. This is the last time also. I've been here about 10-15 minutes and have asked for the check. The restaurant is quite messy for some reason when compared to typical restaurants. The waiter has been prompt although no instructions were given on what I needed to do as a patron. I did inform him it was my first time here and that I didn't know what to do. I don't know if the wait staff gives the bowls or what but I used a salad plate to gather my for for the the stir fry grill. Then as I watch guy cooking, no care is given between seafood meals versus red meat or chicken meals by different patrons. Hopefully those other folks don't have a shellfish allergy. Guy cooking the stir fry meals and cross contamination by using the same stirring utensil on the shrimp for my order, steak and chicken on other orders. The service was fantastic, they were really attentive. The inside was nice and clean both the bar and the dining areas. The food was delicious, I had the pork egg roll appetizer, for the main course my family and I had the create your own stir fry. They had a wide variety of sauces and items to add to the stir fry, the stir fry buffet was very clean. For dessert we had their apple filled egg rolls with a caramel dipping sauce. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was dinner rush, so pretty busy. Overall, everything was fantastic. The food options were really good and lots of variety. The food was restocked often. The paper towels were out in the women's restroom and I did inform a server. We were greeted and seated promptly. We waited 20 minutes for a restaurant that only had 3 other tables and lots of staff walking around. After we were given our drinks, we weren't given enough straws my son could not have been more obvious when trying to ask a waiter that wasn't ours for one. It was so obvious her attitude was that we weren't her table, she couldn't be bothered to pull one from the apron on her hip. The appetizer came out wonderfully. My son and boyfriend had the all you can eat, my food came out 10 minutes before my son's. I finished my food I ordered from the menu and my boyfriend's was no where to be found. When we were able to flag down our waiter, he was more concerned with helping a new table that was seated 5 seconds before our interaction. He came back and said there was some confusion and the kitchen had lost his and offered to let him remake his. He went to remake his food and as he sat down they said they found his bowl. My boyfriend being vegetarian and concerned where his missing food had been for the last 45 minutes declined it. Asking for refills was next to impossible. We each had just 1. We spoke to a manager who was apologetic and then our waiter seemingly hid so my boyfriend never received a second ticket for his unlimited. I asked for a to go box but our waiter wouldn't bring them until everyone was done. Meanwhile guests were leaning over our table/my food to gawk at what was on the buffet. Directions weren't given to guests of which way to go through the line so people were inconvenienced. We arrived at 11:45, as I sit here it is nearing 1:30. To go boxes come and they won't fit my son's second bowl. The boxes are so small and cardboard. They will leak before we drive the 2 hours home and the manager was well aware. It is 81 degrees outside and they are not running the air conditioning. Don't mind me stepping out to get some air while my son might or might not get his second bowl. read more
