Bartender was not at all attentive and had to ask twice for bread, water and a refill. Ordered the outlaw ribeye medium rare and it came out rare. Showed to the bartender and got no response. I let it slide, even though the fat wasn't rendered like a medium rare. Last time medium rare came out medium. Won't be back a third time.

    Tables dirty during entire visit

I have never been so disgusted during a dining experience. First, there were bugs flying around while we were trying to enjoy our appetizer. We never received our salads, the table across the aisle and behind our table were dirty from the time we sat down to the time we left, nor had we seen our server since she took the order. I complained to the manager and the correction was to partially clean the table and the server reappearing to stress if we still wanted the salads. Then to add insult to injury, I communicated my displeasure in the survey, and I was offered a $15 gift card to patronize the establishment. They must be kidding...

This was a great experience dining here to my surprise. Firstly, the aesthetic is very cowboy, western, southwest, my favorite style really. The restaurant is on the moody side, dim lights, wrought iron. We had Dawn as our server and she was nice, helpful and my shy toddler was shockingly a big fan of hers. She provided us an allergy menu and made safe recommendations for our child. Perhaps most importantly the food was good. It came out nice and hot, perfect portion sizes, cooked as requested and appropriately seasoned.

At first glance it's a pretty standard chain steakhouse. The food was fantastic, though. The steak was cooked just right, and my only complaint with the sides was that too many brussels sprouts. (Seriously, who can eat that money? Brussels sprouts? And they were really good, too.) We got the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the cheese that was melted on top of them was just outstanding. They have a baked macaroni and cheese on the regular menu, but the children's menu includes Kraft mac and cheese. Sounds silly, but I know a lot of little kids get really stuck on that one specific style of noodles and sauce. My 6-year-old niece was with us, and she loved it.

First time here, did their waitlist to be seated sooner. Was seated right away on a Friday night. The floors were a little messy but overall it looked fairly clean. Service was very fast and friendly. I really enjoyed the warm bread and butter. The Caesar salad was a huge portion and also tasty. For my main meal I had the 9 oz filet. It was cooked how I ordered. I felt it lacked seasoning/flavor but it wasn't a bad filet. The mashed potatoes were loaded in butter. They were fatty but tasty! Overall, good experience for a chain restaurant.

Medium rare ribeye was well seasoned! Fries were crispy and salty. And corn was phenomenally delicious!

First off no bugs just to get that out of the way! Second off the waiter was amazing! I got a refill with out asking and he wasn't slightly rude at all! The food was well seasoned and the steak was tender. I will come again!

Loaded baked potato with barely portion of the toppings.

Steak is always the best what we did not like are the sides we ordered loaded baked potato with extra sour cream on the side. We ended up getting the sour cream on the side and nothing on the baked potato not only that you can barely see any cheese, bacon bits, and spring onions.

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

The food is honestly the best thing about this spot; the vibes aren't quite right for a special date night, but might be perfect for a birthday party or girls night out and service can either be hit or miss. If you come here, definitely make a night of it in downtown Lemont - there's lots to explore, whether for a nightcap or dessert after Barrel & Vine to turn it into a night.

Based on food, that 2-star above would be a "4". It's a family-run establishment, and therein lies the reason for the 2-star mark. They have rules. Oboy, do they have rules. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good. My carping here nonetheless, it's a fun place to go, and you are guaranteed a fine feed. But if you're in mixed company, work out who is going to grab the tab before you sit down...
