Good food but expensive.. But I am a cheap date so maybe thats just my opinion. Went there today and it was good, but last week when we went my husband informed me after dinner that one of the cooks was flipping his blade and it fell on his shoe. The man tried to play it off and said he caught it. My husband didn't complain to anyone but that's pretty disgusting to me. I like that children under 3 get a free bowl for the stir fry. Kids meals are a pain sometimes and it helps alot when you wanna splurge but money is tight. Also forgot to mention katie is a great server. We get her almost every time and she always remembers us. This restaurant service was poor. We took our family to try a different culture "Mongolian ". We were greeted and seated. Waitress asked if we had eaten here before and we said no. She left and came back with 5 bowls. She and go to the buffet line and fill your bowl with whatever you want cooked. So..... we attempted To figure out what we needed. We came to the sauces and there were at least 10+ different sauces plus and area of at least 15+ different spices. More of you are an Indian Chief or cook or educated on all the sauces/spices, we would do OK. We knew nothing and there was not one person there to walk you through! No one to ask if you like a sweeter sauce, or hot or etc. No one to help you with spices! We had a 7 & 5 year olds with us and it was a total failure!! Won't go back! Staff was not busy! We also noticed there was no rice. So As I dropped food to be prepared I asked about rice and was told, Oh, you needed to order that when you came in. Had to pay extra for rice! OH course! We were never told!! This could be a great place, IF it was managed. I've been to this location a few times. The food items are the fullest and freshest of any Mongolian BBQ I've been to. Service is pretty good, not quite great. Excellent, huge beer garden. Avoid typical busy times, as the wait at the grill gets pretty annoying when the restaurant is full. read more

My very favorite restaurant there is!!! It is kept clean always and people who work there make sure you are taken care of. They have given advice on what to get multiple times. I love the fact that you can make what you want and get free white rice and tortillas. I love that every year I get a free meal for my birthday I never miss out. I think there has only been one time out of like 100 that I have went and felt that my meat was not cooked all the way through but if you tell them they will gladly let you make a new bowl. I love all the different things they have to make your bowl and the many drinks you can order and my favorite desert was the fried oreos but now I am going to have to go with the brownie that comes in a glass with hot fudge and ice cream!!!!! The experience was something new. The meat bar was perfectly chilled and refilled when low. The salad bar looked inviting though I did not partake. The selection of veggies was nice. The cooks were on their game assigning people coming off the buffet to a numbered space at the bar. My food was a bit bland but I would have to put that back on myself considering I selected the spices and sauce. My first bowl was delicious as I selected chicken, broccoli, noodles, etc. My second bowl consisted of shrimp, broccoli, noodles etc., The shrimp was cooked and the broccoli was extra crispy this time as their cooking times differ. I noticed the recipe cards on the wall, after the fact. As a first time patron, I wish I was told about those right away. I would go back and probably will the next time I'm in town. read more

We visited the Independence, MO location on January 21, 2017 around 1pm for lunch. There were seven people in our party and our server was named Lexi E. Five in our party have been to this location several times but two had never been. We were very disappointed in the service and cleanliness of the restaurant and probably will not be going back. The women's bathroom had trash all over the floor and was just overall dirty. The buffet had vegetables, sauces and seasonings spilled all over the counters. You all were busy but several in our party went back for seconds and each time it was dirtier than the time before. My son got shrimp on one of his trips and we had to go back to the grill because it wasn't cooked through even though the other food seemed almost burned. Several of us had food that was pretty overcooked and black. Our server was probably the biggest issue however. She was inefficient and had a bad attitude. We were sat in the back room and she did not check on us regularly. When she did finally come, we had to ask her repeatedly for more water and other items. At one point I asked for her two more bowls for the buffet and she came back with spoons. Anytime we asked for more bowls, it took her a long time to bring those back to us. When we got our bill, she had charged us for two, one serving meat bowls but we should have been charged for one vegetarian and one meat bowl. Then came the issue with the kids menu. On the menu, it clearly states the price is $5.99 which includes the items for the grill, salad and soup. That's all that it states. When we received our bill, we were charged the $5.99 plus an additional $1.50 because my son went up there twice, once for salad and once for meat and vegetables. I questioned the waitress about this and she told me each time the child went for more, we were charged that additional $1.50. When I told her it didn't say that anywhere on the menu, she said, "Well, that's just how it is." I again said it doesn't list that on the menu and we shouldn't have been charged extra. After a few minutes of back and forth on the issue, she finally asked if I wanted her to take $1 off my bill and I said I wanted the FULL $1.50 taken off plus the additional overcharge from the extra meat bowl. She walked away and finally brought us back our corrected bill. I understand it's not her fault that the kids menu doesn't state the prices clearly (that is a huge issue that needs to be addressed) but her attitude about all the overcharges is what we had a big problem with. We used to like this restaurant but the prices have gotten a little high for us so we don't go there often. We decided after this visit, we probably won't go back. We don't feel we're getting a good value or experience anymore. read more

The service was excellent but that's where the props stop. I should have known to turn around and leave when I noticed the I'll-conceived and separately named on-site tap room #madenosense. We ordered the pot sticker app and traditional Mongolian BBQ. The pot stickers came out too cold and we were each given very small bowls which struggled to accommodate the Mongolian BBQ ingredients we wanted. The sauces and spices table could have used some recommendations for combinations of sauces but no biggie. The real disaster was the grill though. It could have used a thorough cleaning as it had considerable residue/char from previous cooks and while we observed one of the cooks scraping what he could into the center trap, it wasn't sufficient to remove the old fond and flavors. The sides of the grill and the surrounding floor looked very dirty as well. If it's getting cleaned everyday, it's not sufficient. The grill should be deep cleaned daily and sparkling for the customers who stand there for minutes and stare at it while your cooks do their thing. Our particular cook also didn't introduce any liquid during the cook either so our dishes were super dry. Worst Mongolian BBQ my wife and I have ever had so we won't be returning. The server gets an A+ though...she was on her game! read more

We walked in to BD's and we were rudely greeted by a girl named angel. She told us it would be a 30 minute wait because a server went home early and they only had 2. Because the waiting area was full, we asked if we could sit at a table in the bar area to wait and she told us no. She told us we could sit at the bar but we have a 10 year old, a 14 year old and an 18 year old and we didn't find that appropriate. There was no where for us to sit and wait and with angel's bad attitude we decided to leave. read more

Took my 13 year old tonight for his birthday dinner (his choice). We arrived around 6:30. Seated right away, they were not busy. Went to the food selection to fill our bowls and the food stations were absolutely filthy. Food everywhere, everything half empty, food mixed into other food and just general dirtiness. Seeing as how the place was so slow, you'd think they'd have someone cleaning that mess up. We got up to the cook station and I informed the guy there it was my sons birthday. He then told another guy, and nothing was done. I waited the entire time they cooked our food to see if they were going to acknowledge him, and they did not. I know from previous experience of taking people here for their birthday, that they announce it and have the bday person ring the gong. I was pretty ticked off about this simply because of the fact that my sons birthday was apparently not important enough. I personally hate this place, since I've gotten food poisoning here before, and avoided going here any way possible, but my son loves it and insisted we go. I won't be going back to this filthy place unless I'm forced to. read more

My wife and I ate here for a quick lunch. The staff was friendly and quick. You basically make your own stir-fry from all sorts of ingredients like ribeye, chicken, shrimp, etc..then pick a sauce and the cooks flash cook it on a flat metal stove using sword-like tongs. The restauraunt was clean. The seafood, meat, and vegetables were fresh. The waitress was friendly and they got us in and out in no time!

We go to this place often. Usually great service, always great food. Tonight however, we were sat and then proceeded to wait a little over 15 minutes for our server to show up to our table and even greet us. (After about 10 min we asked the hostess if we had been forgotten, then went into wait around five more minutes after the hostess addressed her). Once our server Rebecca finally came and took our drink and rice order it took her over 15 minutes to get us our drinks, and my stir fry was luke warm by time our rice showed up. (Luke warm sausage is not pleasant.) We constantly had empty drinks. They weren't even that busy, and it's not like we could call her over because she kept disappearing! I'm a server, I understand if it's crazy busy and you are running around. But it wasn't. And she never even apologized for the delays, to be honest she hardly even talked. Would drop stuff off and just immediately walk away. Next time we come we will be making sure she isn't our server. read more

The only reason for the 2 is the waitress who was very nice. Otherwise it would be a 1. There were six of us at a booth. I was the first one back to the booth after getting my food because I just had soup and salad. I was waiting for my friends to get back to our booth with their food. I noticed a live bug on the table. I killed it. A few minutes later, as a couple of my friends returned with their food, another live bug appeared! I killed it and found the waitress. I told her I had killed 2 bugs and one of my friends pointed out where they were coming from- we saw them crawling on the wall and the window. One bug even crawled along the top of the window towards the booth behind ours. First they were just going to seat us at the booth behind us. We said no and pointed out the bug! We were seated at a table that had just emptied-although it was a bit of a squeeze, at least we were not around the bugs. However, the rest of the time we were there, they kept sitting people at our original booth and the one behind us. At ours they at least just sat a max of 2 people but I would not seated anyone else there the rest of the night! Also, I think our dinner should have been discounted for the inconvenience (the waitress had gotten the manager so he knew the issue). To top all that off, the next morning one of my friends had diarrhea from the meal!! I will never go back there for any reason or under any circumstance. That was my first and last visit! read more
