My wife and I have been to the fancier steakhouses around town like 1587, 801, etc., but we always end up coming back to Texas Roadhouse with the kids because it's more of our vibe. My wife likes prime rib, so we are usually here on the weekends for that. I like my ribeyes and I think TR is really the best bang for your buck steakhouse. The service has always been great and if there is a mistake, such as a steak being overcooked, they correct it. The only downfall of TR is that it's always packed. On this trip I had a frozen sangria, a side Caesar salad, and fries. The salad was, as always, super fresh and full of flavor, definitely one of the best Caesars I've had anywhere. The restaurant was very clean, and I liked that the peanuts are packaged in containers for you to use. I gotta tell you about our server! My husband and I dined here yesterday evening after being cooped up in the house from the snowstorm. We had our daughter with us- long night after work- we were all tired and hungry. Lol Our server tonight was phenomenal!! She greeted us upon seating us at our table, she was extremely nice and had a friendly, personable attitude along serving us and several other tables around us. We did have one small turnaround with my husband's steak during the night, nothing major; he just likes his steak a bit under than what we were served and she handled matters quickly and very professionally. As if we didn't already love this location, we need to come back at least 10 more times for our server, her name was Tyra and she was a rockstar! Got right in and seated even as a Chiefs game was starting on the TV which worked out great for us. COVID-19 Update Texas Roadhouse has managed to maintain a high standard of service and quality of food throughout the lockdowns and into the reopening. Their version of a wait list is very innovative and should be considered by others for permanent operations: Along with a weather protected to-go pick up window, curbside delivery and waiting area, their wait list procedures for dine-in is a winner! Calling the restaurant you are offered the service where you can sign in for whenever you expect to arrive. It also lets you know what the current wait time is should you be heading there already. You are asked to provide your mobile number and to wait in your car until your table is ready. I like that. The crowded uncomfortable benches are gone and you can listen to whatever you want to play on your car's sound system in heated or air conditioned comfort. Should you desire to smoke, I will bet your car has at least one ash tray! When the the text comes you are asked to come inside and your party is seated immediately! It sets the stage for a more enjoyable and relaxed dining experience. They have made the restrictions as painless as possible. Social distancing is evidenced by reduced tables and plexiglass dividers between booths. Wait staff, like customers, are using a mask optional (just like the CDC guidance) rule. Tables are sanitized after each use and sanitizer is available for customers. I am still amazed at the quality of their food for an affordable chain restaurant. As a steak fan, I find their sirloins as tender and flavorful as beef tenderloins in similar restaurants. This franchise is still noticeably a cut above others in the chain. Customer service remains a priority, with experienced staff and ample handicap and Veteran reserved parking. Yep, safe, painless and consistent operation as they seamlessly move into the final stages of total reopening. I will be back! read more

They have a system set up where you can call ahead because they don't take reservations. I would highly recommend it if you are going to eat there on the weekend, you should take advantage of this option. We put our name on the list when we were leaving home and by the time we got to the restaurant our table was ready. There are always a ton of people working which is nice, the waitress that we had was super sweet and I wish I knew her name because I would definitely give her a shout out. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended that I try the chicken tenders, she said they were very fresh and full of chicken and not completely covered in breadcrumbs. We are Longhorn fans but found this to be very good too. The hostess stops by the bakery on the way to our table to get hot rolls. Great start. I liked the filet better than the Longhorn's. The food isn't extraordinarily different from any other local chain steakhouse. We came with a gift certificate during the mid-week and it wasn't that busy. Needless to say, that our table was filthy, it had not been wiped down. During a pandemic you would think that the would take this into consideration and clean a table thoroughly for their guests. Additionally, our food was brought to us by a manager, who asked if we needed anything else, and when we asked for a few things she seemed exasperated, like she would have rather been elsewhere.
