    Pesto pizza

The food is excellent and the service is superb. We had the pesto pizza, eggs Benedict and avocado eggs Benedict. It was a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with the music not too loud. Couldn't have been a better experience near Marymount Manhattan.

Wasn't expecting much from this place since the brunch menu looked pretty standard, but surprisingly good food! French toast was fluffy, thick, delicious, and slightly custardy - and they added a nice touch by warming up the syrup. Avocado eggs benedict was also nice, nothing too crazy, but hit the spot. Loved the crispy potato pancake. Didn't get drinks but they also had good drink deals there... might come back for those next time I'm in the area.

This cute cafe located in the Upper East side of NYC, offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat just inside at the large window with great outdoor views. I had the Lobster Shrimp Roll $19 and it was so delicious. We also had a side of cottage fries $5 were fine. Prices are good for Manhattan.

I visited Beach Cafe for a weekday breakfast, which was pretty easy breezy. For my dining pleasure, I went with the Simple Breakfast (eggs, a potato pancake, small dish of apple sauce, an English muffin, and two sausages). The breakfast was fine, but at $17.95, I thought it was a bit on the pricey side. However, I cannot fault the restaurant for this because I saw the prices before entering. In my defense, there were not too many sit-down breakfast options in the area at that time. Prices aside, I will say that the service was pretty top-notch. One minor pet peeve: My tablecloth had several (old) stains on it. Here's my thing, ditch the tablecloths if it's too much work to keep them spotless or near spotless.

Beach Cafe is very unusual. I love the outside decor and I couldn't wait to try the Lobster Roll. They don't serve the Lobster Roll until 5pm and then you still need to call first to be sure they have lobster that day. I finally decided I would get here early one morning for breakfast. The French Toast looked great in the photos. Today I hustled down from home and arrived at my brunch time. When I entered I said I hope I'm not too late for breakfast and I was welcomed inside to sit wherever I liked. I presented my proof of vaccination and photo ID. I decided to sit at a table where I could see everything. I said a menu wasn't necessary and placed my order. I asked if it comes with coffee and it doesn't. I decided to pass on a drink and opted for ice water. It wasn't long before my French Toast and Bacon was ready. You have a choice of bacon or sausage. It also comes with syrup but I passed on that. No sense wasting it. The French Toast smelled so good and was plenty sweet enough. Everything on the plate was just enough for me. I left stuffed and happy. Naturally before I left I used the restroom. Everything on that end is fine too. It's clean comfortable and well supplied. I did need help finding the light switch. I'm recommending The Beach Cafe. The employees are very nice. Service was just right, not overly attentive. I met the owner as the employee said I should let him know how much I enjoyed my breakfast. He has a table in the back where he sees everything too! He said they have put a lot of work into the outside dining. It's evident. He also told me the enclosed area on 70th Street will have heat this Winter. I felt comfortable inside as I eat when most places aren't busy. I'm sure this will be my first choice when I have a craving for French Toast! And I want to splurge on myself! Some might say it's pricey. By the way, the atmosphere is beach cafe outside meets old school pub inside.

Today was a beautiful day in the city! It was about 67 degrees, extremely windy, partly cloudy, with sunshine coming in and out throughout the day. I was hungry and wanted some lunch. I had to take my dad to the city for a doctor's appointment (I got a parking ticket, but that's a story for another time). I thought I found great parking, but I misjudged my parking and the sign. Anywho... I spotted Beach Cafe as I was driving, and my windows were down, and I kept smelling this food on the grill and followed the smell to them. Their outside setup is nice and chill. The ambiance is excellent; I love the color of the settings as well. It's a real beach vibe but on the sidewalk. I went inside to use the bathroom. I can't tell how the inside looks, but it seems like a typical regular restaurant. I ordered the Original BeachBurger - circa 1966 with a side of French fries and a coke. The staff was very nice! I enjoyed the burger and fries. I don't usually order burgers, and lately, I have been diagnosed with TMJ (so it's hard for me to eat anything, especially things like burgers, tacos, crunchy stuff, etc.). The smell and the menu convinced me to get a burger. I got it medium well with cheese and bacon ($3 extra). It was very satisfying, and I must say I was impressed. They offer a wide range of cheeses to add to your burger. I got American cheese. I would suggest this restaurant! It's a nice vibe, especially with summer and warmer spring weather approaching. One thing I can say is the waiters or not always available, and you don't know who your waiter is, honestly. They need to work on that a little more. I witnessed one lady get out of her seat and said excuse me twice before she can get someone. I had three different people help me. After I got my food, that was it. By then, I was over it. I would've got dessert and another refill of coke. But because there wasn't any follow-up, it was a lost.

It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.

The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.
