The atmosphere is comfortable and senior and kids friendly as well. The food is always fresh, and the quality has remained consistently excellent over the years. My husband and I have been coming to the Mandarin location ever since we moved here from Japan in 2013, and we've always been impressed by both the food and the friendly service. The owner is incredibly kind and always takes the time to say hello, which makes every visit feel personal and special. We truly hope this diner remains a Mandarin favorite for many years to come. We occasionally stop here for Sunday brunch/lunch. It consistently had good service and good food. It's clean and well maintained. This time we had strawberry French toast with bacon and the pork chops, eggs and potatoes. Everything was great. Hubby and I decided to giver Beach Diner Mandarin a try on a recent sunny Saturday morning. There were several tables but overall, pretty quiet. Given it was still pretty early and the weather still mild enough, we opted for outdoor seating. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess, and the server came quickly to take our drink order as we looked over the menu. I ordered the classic steak & eggs with pancakes and hubby ordered two soft poached eggs with corned beef hash. Both dishes were pretty good. Hubby said this is probably his 'go to' corned beef hash restaurant in Jacksonville next time he craves it (and doesn't want to cook it himself). Overall we enjoyed our experience. I met my aunt and uncle for lunch today here at beach diner. Generally, they do OK with their meals however, today was very much an off day. The meal was overcooked when brought to the waiters attention. It was redone however the kitchen staff rather than making a change, they prepared the meal, the exact same way and the same overcooked manner. The waiter response was I told him I don't know what else to do. Personally, and when he saw that he was overcooked, he should not have brought it to begin with. This diner is in a strip mall in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. We've been coming here at least twice a month for the last six months. We have never had a bad breakfast nor have we ever been served with anybody that didn't have a smile on their face. Everyone is always so nice and the food is delicious. I typically get the western omelette or the left coast. My husband gets the sausage gravy and biscuits quite often has only complete is they should have more gravy on it but if you ask for it, they put extra on there at no charge. Beach Diner is one of my go-to breakfast spots. Each time my husband and I go, we are never disappointed! The staff is amazing! They each are on top of their game and seldom is there ever a long wait to be greeted, seated, or served. If there happens to be a wait, they are spot on as far as the wait time, too! The presentation of food is always beautiful... even if 'just a sandwich!' The condiments always seem to be full. Straws are already on the tables! Drinks are filled super quickly! We have not been here in years. The diner is light and airy. We simply love the family atmosphere. We both had the short stack. I had french toast with unsweetened syrup, turkey sausage and eggs with onions and peppers. Wifey had small stack with pancakes and cheesy gits. Our only complaint were the pancakes. They will big but not cooked all the way. We told the waitress about it not complain but to see if Beach diner offered silver dollar pancakes. Our complaint was resolved. It's been awhile since I went out on a weekday for some brekky. I was dying for some French toast and this was a classically well done version. Nothing fancy, no fancy flavors. Just plain old French toast and I loved it. I also got some bacon, which again - classic diner bacon. Delish. Additionally, some home fries. These might have been the star of the breakfast. I think they were a little more like a hash - onions and all. The coffee was also good - and here is my only complain - a cup - not even a carafe at the table - was $3.75. Holy. Moly. (To be fair they may have included free refills - I didn't need that much coffee.) The service was absolutely wonderful! We did have a little trouble locating our waitress for the check at the end, but she was otherwise pretty present. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air before the day got too hot. This Beaches Diner has been here awhile. We ate here before but years ago! Today we had an early appt so we decided to come here for breakfast, that on line, showed before 8am an Early bird special breakfast for $6.99. I'll start by saying EGGS BENEDICT!!! They actually do their hollandaise right. Their bacon is incredibly flavorful and their home fries (chunks of potatoes) are perfectly crispy and have grilled onions with them. I've ordered takeout over a hundred times and finally had my first dine-in experience last week. Their customer service is always spot on and the servers are friendly and helpful. It's open, airy, and modern. In all, it's one of my more favorite diners looks. Food: The Beach Diner Mandarin menu has everything you want for breakfast and lunch in a diner. Since they are only until 2:30, they just serve breakfast a lunch. They have many more healthy options than many other diners, and you can find something for everyone, including pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. There were a few things on the Beach Diner Mandarin menu that caught my eye: Bagel and Lox with Smoked Salmon, Capers, Red Onion, Sliced Tomato, and Cream Cheese on a Toasted Plain Bagel Fish-n-Grits: Deep-fried 7 oz. filet (no bones!), Two Eggs (any style), Cheese Grits, Toast or English Muffin Tossed Shrimp & Crabmeat Salad: Tossed Green Salad with Jumbo Shrimp, Crabmeat, Diced Tomato, Parmesan Cheese, Croutons, tossed in our House Dressing. The BET Rider or(BLT) had Crisp Bacon, fresh Egg Salad, juicy Tomatoes & fresh Lettuce in a Pita Pocket. Ultimately, I decided to get the BLT with avocado and sweet potato fries. I was happy with my decision, and it tasted great. The BLT wasn't soggy, and the sweet potato fries were crisp and thick. Service: Everyone was friendly, and my food was ready to go when I got there.
