Bills Ultimate Omelette and a side of redneck sausage
    Lori F.

Wanted to try this place for years but finally had a day off and took a chance. We walked in and no it's not much to look at definitely a well used diner look, but we were greeted immediately and told to sit wherever we we're comfortable. They gave us a few minutes to check out the menu. We finally decided on the Bills Ultimate omelette which had peppers, onions, mushroom, ham, bacon and sausage & cheese. He substituted the hash browns for grits and a biscuit. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs with grits. We also ordered a side of the redneck sausage which is the owners own homemade spicy sausage. Everything came out pretty quick and was hot and fresh. For my weak spice level it was a bit "bitey" for me but I think I'd I mixed it with my grits it would have helped tame it a little but he definitely liked it. My country fried steak was good and had a crispy breading that was delicious with the gravy. The grits were good and creamy. The biscuit was a little dry might try toast next time. I got a bite of his hashbrowns and they were perfectly crispy on the outside and softer in the middle. I would definitely come back and try some other things.

Country Fried Steak with some great sausage gravy and really good grits and eggs.

The food and service at Bill's are both very good, so is their coffee. I was in the past Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table although they were pretty busy. I had the country steak breakfast which had some tender and flavorful country fried steak with some great sausage gravy on top, some nicely cooked over medium eggs and some great slow cooked grits with cheddar cheese on top. Id rate the food and the service as very good. They do have a freshly prepared lunch special for the day. Items like homemade chicken and dumplings or meatloaf.

Seems like a gathering place for the local VFW and construction workers. Everyone but me seems to be a regular. A tired atmosphere but clean. I ordered the "Bill's breakfast special" 2 of eggs, bacon, and pancakes with a side of grits for 6.95. Price was right and the food... Well filling, i couldn't put it all away. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Grits are nice and butter smothered. All in all worth the price for the meal, just needs to update the interior.

Not a fancy place. Local diner just the way we love it !!! Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Love the fact that there were no music playing. Just listening to the staff talking smack to each other. The food was very simple. Many variety of choices on the menu. Reminds me of Denny's . Omelet eggs was undercook. But, that's the way I like it since Most of the places are over cook. I would love to go back for lunch. Burgers looks pretty yummy.

I'll be honest with you !!! This little hole in the wall had me scared the 1st time I tried it ... But don't let looks deceive you!! This place is really really Good home cooking, like Mom use to make !!! Every day they have a lunch special for $8.99 includes 2 sides and drink !!! Today was baked chicken and yellow rice, got Collard greens, and mashed potatoes and gravy... Spaghetti and meatballs is great, chicken and Dumplins... On and on and on ... They home cook everything, starting at 4:30 every am!!! Very good for breakfast also !!!!

Bill's Diner is simple and easy, no frills not even one. It is truly a local joint right off the interstate nestled near a gas station and bargain shop where locals eat. There is no ambiance to speak of. That aside, we went for breakfast and enjoyed a good meal. It is family friendly and there is literally a sign at the door that says "No Swearing." Don't go expecting more than blue plate specials, but the food that comes out of the kitchen is good and tasty. No complaints--I ordered a pita stuffed with the typical breakfast fare of corned beef hash and some eggs with veggies. The biscuits and gravy is also a winner. We were not disappointed! If you're up for a quick and easy simple breakfast with the locals this might be just the place for you.

We love this place. The ranch dressing is the best in town. We have had breakfast and lunch and enjoyed it all. They have lunch specials every day with 2 sides and a drink for 8.50. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Ms Carol the owner is the sweetest lady that cares about her customers. I have also called in to go orders that were ready when i got there.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

My go-to is the Hoss burger, because I love the onion rings and special sauce, but their steaks (ribeye and tenderloin) are also perfectly aged and fresh off the butcher block. This is a small deli with seating tucked away on a neighborhood street where you're guaranteed to be greeted with a friendly smile by someone willing to answer any questions you may have. It's an older building but they're serving up bistro quality food. The menu is written on the wall to the right of the register, but they also have a printout. If you're prone to decision overwhelm and don't want to order 14 things, you can also look at the menu on their website! If I lived in walking distance, I'd come here twice a week. I went to Pinegrove Deli with very little idea of what to expect and was happy with my choice. After intensely studying the menu I finally decided on the Ortega. There was a pretty long wait to order, I'm not sure if the kitchen was backed up or they were short staffed but it was drastic enough that some people left before ordering and regulars were mentioning the wait time was getting worse. I have nothing to compare it to but it was 12:30 on a Saturday so it might have also just been a rush.
