Bills Ultimate Omelette and a side of redneck sausage
Lori F.

Wanted to try this place for years but finally had a day off and took a chance. We walked in and no it's not much to look at definitely a well used diner look, but we were greeted immediately and told to sit wherever we we're comfortable. They gave us a few minutes to check out the menu. We finally decided on the Bills Ultimate omelette which had peppers, onions, mushroom, ham, bacon and sausage & cheese. He substituted the hash browns for grits and a biscuit. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs with grits. We also ordered a side of the redneck sausage which is the owners own homemade spicy sausage. Everything came out pretty quick and was hot and fresh. For my weak spice level it was a bit "bitey" for me but I think I'd I mixed it with my grits it would have helped tame it a little but he definitely liked it. My country fried steak was good and had a crispy breading that was delicious with the gravy. The grits were good and creamy. The biscuit was a little dry might try toast next time. I got a bite of his hashbrowns and they were perfectly crispy on the outside and softer in the middle. I would definitely come back and try some other things.

Country Fried Steak with some great sausage gravy and really good grits and eggs.

The food and service at Bill's are both very good, so is their coffee. I was in the past Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table although they were pretty busy. I had the country steak breakfast which had some tender and flavorful country fried steak with some great sausage gravy on top, some nicely cooked over medium eggs and some great slow cooked grits with cheddar cheese on top. Id rate the food and the service as very good. They do have a freshly prepared lunch special for the day. Items like homemade chicken and dumplings or meatloaf.

Seems like a gathering place for the local VFW and construction workers. Everyone but me seems to be a regular. A tired atmosphere but clean. I ordered the "Bill's breakfast special" 2 of eggs, bacon, and pancakes with a side of grits for 6.95. Price was right and the food... Well filling, i couldn't put it all away. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Grits are nice and butter smothered. All in all worth the price for the meal, just needs to update the interior.

Not a fancy place. Local diner just the way we love it !!! Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Love the fact that there were no music playing. Just listening to the staff talking smack to each other. The food was very simple. Many variety of choices on the menu. Reminds me of Denny's . Omelet eggs was undercook. But, that's the way I like it since Most of the places are over cook. I would love to go back for lunch. Burgers looks pretty yummy.

I'll be honest with you !!! This little hole in the wall had me scared the 1st time I tried it ... But don't let looks deceive you!! This place is really really Good home cooking, like Mom use to make !!! Every day they have a lunch special for $8.99 includes 2 sides and drink !!! Today was baked chicken and yellow rice, got Collard greens, and mashed potatoes and gravy... Spaghetti and meatballs is great, chicken and Dumplins... On and on and on ... They home cook everything, starting at 4:30 every am!!! Very good for breakfast also !!!!

Bill's Diner is simple and easy, no frills not even one. It is truly a local joint right off the interstate nestled near a gas station and bargain shop where locals eat. There is no ambiance to speak of. That aside, we went for breakfast and enjoyed a good meal. It is family friendly and there is literally a sign at the door that says "No Swearing." Don't go expecting more than blue plate specials, but the food that comes out of the kitchen is good and tasty. No complaints--I ordered a pita stuffed with the typical breakfast fare of corned beef hash and some eggs with veggies. The biscuits and gravy is also a winner. We were not disappointed! If you're up for a quick and easy simple breakfast with the locals this might be just the place for you.

We love this place. The ranch dressing is the best in town. We have had breakfast and lunch and enjoyed it all. They have lunch specials every day with 2 sides and a drink for 8.50. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Ms Carol the owner is the sweetest lady that cares about her customers. I have also called in to go orders that were ready when i got there.

Stopped by Johnny's Angel and went straight for my forever favorite, the Fats Domino omelet. Packed with sausage, potato, bacon and melty cheese, it's hearty, comforting and absolutely loaded with flavor. Paired with creamy cheesy grits and classic white toast, this plate hits every nostalgic breakfast note. Service was friendly and quick, and the retro diner vibes never miss. Chrome, color and old-school charm everywhere you look. It really does feel like stepping into a time machine to when breakfast spots were the heart of the neighborhood. The food is always amazing, and the atmosphere is energetic and fun. A very special shoutout to Christine, the bartender, who truly stands out. Her personality, speed, and professionalism are everything you hope for in a busy restaurant and bar. She's extremely knowledgeable about the menu, makes fabulous drinks, and still manages to make every customer feel welcomed even during the rush. Also, the dishwasher must be a hard worker because there was never a wait for clean dishes Christine the bartender said that he is also a hidden jewel! But the true hidden star here is Barry -- and although his title may be busboy, I'd definitely call him a busman because of the pride he takes in his work. While waiting, I watched him constantly keeping the bar and surrounding areas spotless. Nothing sat on tables for more than a minute. He stayed moving, organized, and focused the entire time. It's refreshing to see mature, hardworking staff who truly know how to handle large crowds during a huge event like the Jacksonville Jazz Fest. That level of teamwork and customer service does not go unnoticed. Highly recommend!

I ordered their cinnamon roll, and it was so yummy (and I'm a stickler for a good cinnamon roll)! I also ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on Texas toast with hash-browns. The sandwich was great, but will I say the hashbrowns were just OK -- I'll probably go with the country potatoes next time. The overall vibes were casual in a nice way -- nothing too aggressively themed, just a good and bright breakfast spot. Our server, Bonnie, was friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a hodge podge of breakfast items: eggs over medium, hash browns, cheese grits, a waffle, and a blueberry muffin split and grilled. My mom got an egg sandwich with grits and vegetarian sausage (yay!). Our food came pretty quickly, and I hoovered up everything on my plate. Everything tasted the way you'd expect: just good breakfast food. The hash browns had a crisp top, which is vital for me. The malted waffle stood out the most; I could smell it the second our server walked out of the kitchen with it and I ate the whole thing, even though I frequently split a waffle and take half home for later. The muffin was good, but a special shoutout for the option to have it split, buttered, and lightly grilled. I immediately requested my mom start trying that with her own blueberry muffins next time I'm over. It's a little pricey, but what isn't these days? It sure hit the spot.
