    Strawberry French toast & bacon.
    Linda A.

We occasionally stop here for Sunday brunch/lunch. It consistently had good service and good food. It's clean and well maintained. This time we had strawberry French toast with bacon and the pork chops, eggs and potatoes. Everything was great. The only downside is there's usually a wait, but the service is fast and you get your food quickly. Outside seating is available and their patio is non-smoking which is a big plus.

We have driven past Beach Diner for 7 months and have always seen a line outside. We were finally able to stop in and I'm not sure what the fuss is about. The service was good, but the food was average, and the ambiance was lacking. It looked like everything had 10 coats of white paint on it. There are so many other options in the area that I don't think we'll be back.

Mostly a breakfast crowd. The place is busy so the servers are rushed. The reuben was good but definitely needed more thousand island dressing. The eggs on the bayou is excellent and unique. The potato salad needs to be diced more, as well as more mayonnaise and a bit of spice might help as well. The prices were ok. I guess they have a lot of overhead given the location.

From the time we walked in, we were greeted and received the best service! The ambiance is casual and relaxed, like the diner on the beach. The food was hot & tasty. The menu is perfect and offers breakfast or lunch. This location is located in a strip mall and has outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend!

What a great spot to stop after a long day of shopping. I sat outside on a beautiful day which is always a nice option. I had a burger since it had been awhile since I'd had one and this one did not disappoint. The fries were also crisp and well seasoned. The lemonade was great, not too sweet or overly tart.

Side pancake that comes with our entree. Fluffy and delicious.

Hubby and I decided to giver Beach Diner Mandarin a try on a recent sunny Saturday morning. There were several tables but overall, pretty quiet. Given it was still pretty early and the weather still mild enough, we opted for outdoor seating. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess, and the server came quickly to take our drink order as we looked over the menu. I ordered the classic steak & eggs with pancakes and hubby ordered two soft poached eggs with corned beef hash. Both dishes were pretty good. Hubby said this is probably his 'go to' corned beef hash restaurant in Jacksonville next time he craves it (and doesn't want to cook it himself). Overall we enjoyed our experience. It was quiet and pleasant (probably due to the time of day), service prompt & friendly, and food is tasty. We'd come back again to try different items.

I met my aunt and uncle for lunch today here at beach diner. Generally, they do OK with their meals however, today was very much an off day. The meal was overcooked when brought to the waiters attention. It was redone however the kitchen staff rather than making a change, they prepared the meal, the exact same way and the same overcooked manner. The waiter response was I told him I don't know what else to do. Personally, and when he saw that he was overcooked, he should not have brought it to begin with. I think I'm gonna take a break from beach diner. On a sidenote, it was beautiful outside which made it very nice to spend the day.

This diner is in a strip mall in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. We've been coming here at least twice a month for the last six months. We have never had a bad breakfast nor have we ever been served with anybody that didn't have a smile on their face. Everyone is always so nice and the food is delicious. I typically get the western omelette or the left coast. My husband gets the sausage gravy and biscuits quite often has only complete is they should have more gravy on it but if you ask for it, they put extra on there at no charge. I honestly have no idea why there are so many bad reviews and why this place isn't a solid four star

Beach Diner is kind of a staple in the Mandarin area. Has been around a long time and there are lots of regulars that have been going there for years. They serve traditional diner food hot and quick. It might not be the most creative of food, but it's always of good quality and portions. Their owner, Stan, is there frequently walking around saying hello to folks. I've never had bad service there. It's a comfortable and familiar place.

Cyber Monday '22 Lunch Specials! Many delicious choices to help start the new week at the diner.

My local go to diner for a wonderful breakfast every time! Management and staff treat customers like their own family and the diner always feels like a home away from home. Staff is friendly and professional. The beach themed decor is cool and helps make my dining experience very relaxing. Delicious food that is always fresh and tasty!

I enjoyed this little place so much! They had a nice selection of food and it all tasted incredible, not to mention it came out so quickly! The prices were very reasonable as well. Tons of locals coming through here, just watching the employees interact with the customers you could tell it's a hot local spot with tons of regulars. If you are in the area or on vacation make sure to come here for breakfast.

We went to Beach Diner today lunch for my wife's birthday. We love Beach Diner! We both had the pancakes with turkey sausage. We both think it's the best pancakes we've had in a very long time!!! Definitely recommend Beach Diner and their pancakes. Everything else on the menu is just as good! My wife's sister loved what she got. It was her first time going to Beach Diner. Service was fast and super friendly. Everyone there is so nice including the owner. Restaurant is always clean.

We have not been here in years. The diner is light and airy. We simply love the family atmosphere. We both had the short stack. I had french toast with unsweetened syrup, turkey sausage and eggs with onions and peppers. Wifey had small stack with pancakes and cheesy gits. Our only complaint were the pancakes. They will big but not cooked all the way. We told the waitress about it not complain but to see if Beach diner offered silver dollar pancakes. Our complaint was resolved. Beach Diner has other locations but at the Mandarin location there was lttile to no wait for our table, our food and the check. Until we meet again!

Eureka (I have found it)! Hollywood in Florida!!!!…read more JUST like Dr. Indiana Jones combing through the jungles seeking his ancient museum artifacts, I was navigating the curvy wilds of the Jacksonville Southpoint area, located near I-95 and JTB. The best things in life require some effort to build your appetite, and whereas I did not collect a golden idol like Dr. Jones, I was rewarded instead with a cheerful new friend and one of the absolute FRESHEST sandwiches in JAX! Nestled between the sparse woods and surrounding offices you will find happy, loyal diners who fill Hollywood Heroes and Subs each lunchtime to the point where the line stretches out the door. I had just seen the last of the lunch crowd smiling and saying goodbye for the day to our energetic and upbeat host, Founder, sandwich artist and Jacksonville native Kevin Porter, an actor turned restaurateur -- known for roles including "Lazer" in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, plus appearances in Daredevil and General Hospital. Something that cannot be "acted" around was his genuine welcome and desire to roll out the red Hollywood carpet for all who make the journey (yes, it's a REAL red carpet)!! This sweet shop is the perfect size, and has a significant amount of Hollywood memorabilia all around to keep you engaged while chatting with Kevin as he works his magic. And what he produced was a treasure of cheese and meats that made me forget about whatever might have been chasing me through those woods to get there! J/K In between wonderful conversation with Kevin, each bite of my MASSIVE "The Towering Inferno" hot hero (pepperoni, Genoa salami, cappy and melted provolone) on fresh baked Village Bread made me realize just how huge and delicious this thing was. Kevin promised that the one pictured is exactly what every customer will get...he prides himself on highly generous portions at fair prices...and man, did he deliver!! I would have been completely satisfied with HALF, but NO!!!! There sat its twin, begging for sacrifice to the stomach Gods. I was only too happy to oblige! The owner Kevin = engaging, friendly, talented with his craft, makes you feel like you drove through the woods to come home to your happy place. The ambiance = bright, colorful, great memorabilia, puts you as the star of the show. The sandwiches = creative in name and product with fresh being the operative word, this sandwich hit above its price point and I can't wait to try to the rest of the menu! So no, I didn't get chased by a boulder, or leave with Dr. Jones' golden idol, but I did get a Golden Belly from my experience, and the knowledge of why hundreds of hungry lunch- goers seek this "Temple of Delish" every day!! Crack the whip and corral your family into the car for this absolute treat in the core of "ancient Jacksonville!!"

My son and I have been trying restaurants in this area and this was next on our list. Store was very clean, as I said before service was outstanding. Here's a list of the food we tried: Drink stand - not many selections, but they do have Coke products. Sweet tea - they have not perfected the taste of Southern sweet tea, but it was fine French fries - crisp crunchy exterior soft, interior, really well done. . Egg salad sandwich - it was just an egg salad sandwich, no better no worse than others, just fine . European Gyro - this was a normally euro stuff with french fries, it was a cool look in the dish was good. Overall, I wanted to love this place, and it was fine. But that's all it was was fine, they played it safe, they didn't try to spice up their menu or give you a number of unique specials. They just serve decent food at what I thought was a high price. For instance, my egg salad sandwich, and I'm an egg salad, lover, Fair but it was $13 without many side drink or chips. Most places, including Tidbits, which is one of their competitors, is less than $5. But I have to say they five other restaurants in this strip center, including the powerhouse Mexican food at El Castillo, Donato's Pizza, Mad o' Seafood, a Latino restaurant and Açaí Bowls. So if you're going to compete with these other restaurants, I think you need to go above and beyond. Maybe highlight Middle Eastern dishes, maybe makes egg salad with some curry powder, and don't charge so much for just plain sandwiches. I don't have any qualms about going back, but I also don't have anything to draw me back. That special dish or that special thing. And that seem to be the theme with the other people that came in. This was a first time visit for a lot of people , and a regular crowd just wasn't there. Maybe that is telling.

I decided to try a simple drip coffee and the country fried chicken sandwich. Okay so pickles on a breakfast sandwich felt a little weird but I like to try things as the restaurant intended. I'm very glad I did as the pickles gave it a nice little pop. The egg was perfectly fried. Done well enough that it wasn't a runny yolk but not so done that the yolk gets chalky. The gravy was insane. Not going to lie, a lady was dipping her finger in the bowl and eating it....(okay so I'm the lady, it was me. Don't hate me, that stuff was irresistible). The drip coffee was perfectly brewed. Not too weak or strong and it didn't taste as if it sat around a while. Service-10/10. The staff was very helpful with explanations and to provide suggestions based on what is popular. I saw two employees from the counter area and both were cheerful and welcoming. The restaurant is counter service but I had taken a seat to wait and they brought it out to me and even came to take my trash away when they saw I was done. Atmosphere-9/10. The restaurant is cute and bright. It's very welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. My only two negatives are that the tables feel a bit cramped and it's far from my home. Obviously I can't knock them for me not being a local, but the table situation could use improvement. I imagine the table layout was based on them fitting the space but when you add even a normal size person, you would need additional space to get in and out of the seat especially when the seats have arms. As a plus size person if it gets busy you would be very limited for seating comfortably options. The team is not helpful at all, in fact, the whole process is kind of confusing. I think breakfast/brunch is a really fun event and that wasn't the case here. The kiosk ordering system is easy enough but what happens after that can only be described as chaotic. It's hard to tell if your order is being placed on the rack or in the spot for pick ups. We were dining in. At some point, we got our food and it looked really good. I got the EggBred cheeseburger and my friend got the ribeye sandwich. Her steak was really dry and chewy. My burger was super greasy and had zero distinguishing flavors. It all kind of melded into one glop. Which is never the way to describe anything edible. I think the drink prices were so high they were stupid. A glass bottle of Coke (the narrow bottle) was $5. Our total was $32 for just the sandwiches. No add ons. No drinks. Neither of us ate our whole meal. Not because we were full, it was because they just weren't good. I would not go back.
