I purchased a "mystery bag" from the app called "Too Good to Go" the previous night for pick up the next day. Upon arrival, the cashier seemed a bit confused as if she knew about the app, but did not at the same time. When she went to go check with another employee, she came back with some half loaves of bread that she threw together informing me that all she had was bread to offer. I told her that what I paid (5.50) was not worth a half loaf of bread that she tossed together and she proceeded to look at me with this blank look on her face. I told her never mind and I would request a refund via the app (which I did with no issues). The other employee came out of hiding and half heartedly mentions it to the cashier that she could make me a sandwich. Um, hello, I was standing right there, why not ask me directly? I appreciate the solution; however, Beach Hut Deli shouldn't be participating with "Too Good to Go" if they are not sure they will have discounted food items available (the app gives a limited amount of offers that you pre-pay for until sold out). A nice place to go to that is walking distance from the convention center. I was working an event at the convention center and was on the search for something to eat. This is the cutest little gem in Long Beach. There is some construction in front of their shop, but the signs are easy to follow to get to the door. I ordered the cold pastrami sandwich with bacon, avocado and all the fixings. It is delicious. The bread is chewy but hearty enough o hold all the goodness together. Funny enough, I actually had Beach Hut Deli once before, years ago, in Davis (by Sacramento) - was on a business trip, the clients recommended it, had a pretty great sandwich there. Still remember that sandwich - I didn't realize they were a chain until they opened a location in Long Beach recently. Well anyway, the sandwiches are still very good. It is order at the front, but if you're dining in, they bring your food out, and they have a good amount of seating, including a pretty nice bar area. Anyway, a few weeks ago, we were invited to an event here where, for just that event, beer was $2, so obviously we had to get sandwiches that day. (Also interestingly, I was going to say that it was sadly only the price that one day for our group a month or two ago, but it appears they may actually have $2 beers on Tuesday, every Tuesday (going by the internet; I haven't personally verified that.) And their beer selection, while small, is properly craft - and the rest of the time, still pretty affordable. My wife got a pastrami sandwich - I'm not a huge fan of pastrami, but she said it was great. I got a cheesesteak, which *absolutely* was great - a bit pricey, but I can confirm as far as quantity, the "regular" size, while it looked fairly small when it was brought out, was *quite* enough food (as it's stuffed full of meat, cheese and sauce). Would definitely get it again. That said, subsequent to that, we also used a Doordash coupon last weekend to pick up sandwiches - as seems to be the norm, their prices are a little higher on Doordash than in person, but that doesn't matter when Doordash wants to give you $15 off an order. What I will mention *does* matter, according to Doordash, you can order any sandwich (small or regular size) to be made on "garlic cheese sourdough", and that sounded absolutely wonderful, so we both ordered our sandwiches with that, and got sandwiches on just regular sourdough. Not bad sourdough, but I would've definitely kept the French roll if I'd known it wasn't going to be garlic-y or cheesy at all? Not sure whether their garlic cheese sourdough doesn't have any garlic or cheese in it, if they were out, or if it was just a mistake, but either way, I'm not going to give them any less of a good review for that. It was still a great sandwich (the Pig Kahuna, with pulled pork, cheddar and pineapple), though like the cheesesteak, also lacking significantly in structural integrity (that is: it's a knife-and-fork kind of sandwich. Kind of defeats the purpose of it being a sandwich, necessarily, but still just as tasty.) read more

They have umbrellas outside for dining. Walking inside, they have a nice menu to look at everyone was welcoming and upbeat. They have beer on tap too. So, I get a beer and order a french dip sandwich with au jus. This is the best french dip i have eaten my entire life. I really enjoyed eating here. The space inside has many tables and tvs showing sports, so a great place to eat, drink, relax and watch the game. the place is well decorated and branded with bright wood colors and beach theme. I walked in to let The staff know that there is about 20-25 people (volleyball team and family) and that we probably will take over. Thought it would be best to give them a heads up. Local here. I've avoided this place because there always seems to be a long line when I'm passing by - however, a few days ago my girl and I stopped in for our first visit. I expected another "tourist-centric" spot with average fare, but I was wrong. The sandwiches were insanely good - and prepared with care! Btw - I noticed a comment about the choice of meat brand used here. The brand they recommended impresses the easily impressed - due to the fancy name and label (maybe they're a rep)?
