Richard is Great. Here's why. The home warranty company sent two different plumbers to inspect and repair our backed-up tub and its trap. That process took three weeks. They never did any repair work. Beyond that, they wanted to get into the crawl space to fix the trap! Richard diagnosed problem, brought the right equipment, unclogged our specialized trap and gave good, solid advice. All done in less than 30 minutes. Richard and his apprentice were wonderful! I found them on yelp because of their 5 star rating but I'd give them 10 stars if I could! Even though he was late, he kept calling me to let me know when he would be here and told us because he was running so late his service today would be free! He MORE than made up for it when he cleaned out our clogged washing machine drain that was backed up and he didn't even charge us! He was super efficient and answered all our other questions and advice for the future to keep costs down. Our drain is draining great again! Fabian came out and checked out my water heater that wasn't working. He determined it was probably a wind gust that blew out the pilot. I couldn't restart it but he knew how. Since he was at my house only for a few minutes, he didn't charge me anything even after I offered to pay for the service call. He even gave me some tips on how to clean it out. I know I'll need a new water heater within a couple of years because mine is old, so I will definitely call him when I need to get a new one. read more

AN AMAZINGLY HONEST PLUMBER!!! My rental had a clogged toilet. It had overflowed. I was 50 miles away and called Richard. 90 minutes later I get a call, expecting to provide credit card info. Instead he tells me the the tank needed adjustment and no other problems. NO CHARGE. I tried to pay him, knowing that his time is $$$ but he refused. So everything works great now. Walked in the garage and found water everywhere in the evening of the day after Christmas. Called Richard at Beach Plumbing and Jetting and he offered to come right out even though it was still really part of the holiday and he was just home from the hospital. I knew how to turn the water off, so I told him to come when it was convenient and he assured me I'd be the "first call" at 7 a.m. Richard showed up before 7, followed by Fabian, and the two plumbers got right to work removing and replacing my worn out water heater. Hours later, there is a new tankless water heater in place, mounted "higher up" to give me a little more clearance over the dryer, and everything has been put back in its place with hot water and gas restored. One big problem which could have taken days with anyone else was solved immediately by Richard. This isn't the first time I've used Beach Plumbing. Fabian was here a couple of months ago to clear a line which caused grease and gunk to back up all over - and checked every drain in the house to be sure that, when he left, everything was working correctly and completely. Again, "emergency" presented as brown crud was backing up through the shower - and Beach Plumbing was on the job with no delay. I would recommend Beach Plumbing without any reservation or hesitation. What a wonderful outcome to a terrible situation. I had previously called another plumber who didn't fix my problem but had no problem billing me. I called Richard with Beach Plumbing strictly based on his reviews. He lived up to all of them. I called them on late Friday knowing I would have to go the weekend without being able to flush a toilet run a sink or take a shower. He told me he could come by Saturday afternoon between 12 and 2pm and there would be no premium rate even though it was Saturday. He called me at 12:30 to let me know he would be there in 30 minutes. He showed up evaluated the situation then told me he would need to replace a section of my main sewer line and he would install cleanouts to prevents any further issues. There were a total of 4 plumbers on site to work through this issue and Richard assured me the entire time that before they left my drains would be clear. Each member of his crew were polite, respectful and professional. They each introduced themselves and went to work and didn't stop until the problem was solved. After clearing all of my lines he told me there were additional issues that would have to be addressed but they were future issues that could be planned for by me he was just letting know what the future could bring for my home that was built in 1944. I cannot imagine a better experience the job was started and finished in 5 hours this included digging a 5x5x3 foot hole to get to the bad section of sewer line. If I could give 6 stars I would. Hands down, the best experience with plumbers I have ever had in my Long Beach 63 year old home! I cannot say enough great things about Beach plumbing. We had another plumber come by yesterday (highly rated on Yelp!) who could not fix our toilet stoppage and told us the fix would be a $5-6,000 jackhammer job ruining our bathroom floor. We are retired on Social Security and were devastated! I decided to call Beach Plumbing for a second opinion. Richard was confident he could fix it, arrived early the next morning. Short Review: These guys are straight up awesome. If you want to know more, read below. Long Review: I am skeptical about these reviews sometimes. I think to myself, what is to stop family and friend from posting hundreds of positive reviews? How do I know these are real customers posting their feedback? Well, I still don't know the answer to that question, but here is what I do know. It's Monday morning now. But Saturday night while entertaining guests the kitchen sink line backed up. Sunday I had a plumber over. They snaked the drain three separate times over an hour and a half and couldn't clear it. The solution? A $450 hydro jet process they told me. I wasn't prepared for that expense. And I am a research guy. You know.....get three quotes. Make sure you aren't getting ripped off because you are desperate to "get back to normal". So I declined their offer to my wife's dismay because we still had a filthy dirty kitchen. Today, Monday, I started my research. I contacted a local plumber online. They quoted $125 to snake and $275 to hydro jet if necessary. Problem was he couldn't get there until Tuesday. He said to call Richard. Richard picked up the phone on the first ring. When I told him who had been to the house Sunday to try and fix it, he said, "No problem. I'll have that thing opened up in 15 minutes." He gave me the same prices and said don't worry.....I'm coming over right now. I agreed. When I hung up I saw the hundreds of positive Yelp reviews!! This made me feel good. Richard and Fabian showed up right on time. They used what appeared to be the same size equipment as the other company, but what was totally different was their years of experience. They seemed to know right where the stoppage was and cleared it with ease in 15 minutes. What's even better......it was 1/2 the mess!!! Done! These guys know what they are doing!!! I called Beach Plumbing today because I've had an ongoing problem with excess moisture in my concrete slab and no one seems to know what's causing it. Richard and Chad came out to my house same day and were really thorough, explaining everything they did along the way, and just generally made me feel like I was in good hands. They ruled out a slab leak right away and didn't even charge me for that service since it was so easy to see that wasn't my problem. I really appreciated that since I've already spent a ton of money trying to figure this problem out! Then they looked at the sewer line, and they very carefully mapped out the whole line, running the camera down and letting me watch the whole time exactly what they were doing and explaining what we were seeing. Again, I really appreciated them taking the time to be so thorough. At the end, Richard was honest with me and said he couldn't definitely know if my sewer line was leaking without removing all the built up rust in the pipes and that would be a more expensive operation. He was really good at laying out all the options without making false promises, and giving me the choice of which way to go, which I really appreciated. He and Chad spent at least an hour at my house and didn't charge me one cent. If I decide to go ahead with the more extensive cleanout they recommended, you can be sure I'll go with Beach Plumbing. We had a bad backup in our main line and Beach Plumbing was very helpful and prompt in helping us out. They really saved our butts. It was the middle of a big shopping day on Valentines day and having our plumbing system shutdown was a nightmare situation for us. Richard at Beach Plumbing was very professional and thorough in his explanations and his costs, especially since it was an emergency situation. Richard showed up promptly and had the blockage removed in about an hour (The building we are in is approx. 100,000 square feet and he had to use about 500 ft of jetting hose). Happy customer here. I called Richard with an emergency blockage in my toilet at my place of business and he told me he was so busy and that I were to be patient he would make me his first appointment on Monday (that was a conversation had Friday). Instead of calling another plumber I waited for him.... I called him at 1:00 Monday and asked him what happened to being his first appointment? He said he was done with me and hung up on me. I cannot believe how rude and disrespectful he was toward me and he handled the situation very unprofessionally. During our first conversation he said "Be sure to yelp us" so I am doing just that. We own a property in Long Beach and the tenants were complaining about one of the toilets acting up, not flushing well, etc. I live in West Los Angeles and didn't have any referrals for Long Beach. I called Beach Plumbing based solely on the reviews here and now I understand why everyone is raving about Richard -- I'm about to do it myself! First of all, the initial phone call was answered promptly and he sounded upbeat and professional. Cheerfully offered to come by the same day. I liked him immediately and felt that we were in good hands. He just called me to report that there is nothing wrong with the toilet, that he put lots of toilet paper down and flushed 25 times and it's working perfectly. Tenants are happy.
