Wow!what an unexpected surprise. Got here by circumstance and decided to stay for dinner. Excellent food quality, prepared very well. Lots of creative parings. Have to same the smoked Mahi was rediculously good. I had the sushi grad ahi and my wife had the grouper . Both were very good.. I thought the tuna was better but don't tell my wife. Flour less chocolate cake was a great end to a wonderful meal . Richard our server was excellent. Ambiance is of course killer..so romantic. Worth the price. read more

Well, it is evident we enjoy eating out from time to time. This restaurant provided one of the most enjoyable dining experiences ever. We will definitely be back. The restaurant is top notch from the greeting with valet parking to the beautiful dining view. Our server was most attentive, there when needed but invisible when not needed. Menu was to die for, extensive and excellently described. And the prices were very reasonable...comparable to other restaurants in area. And definitely not a "tourist" destination. The Henderson Inn is an "adult only" Inn and just a note...did not see children in the restaurant? I'd ask about children when making dinner reservations (open for dinner only). When you present payment, you provide your valet receipt and as you walk out the restaurant door your car is sitting there and is started for you as you approach by the valet attendant. Again, great dining experience, and the food and view can't be beat. Will be a repeat customer. read more

We stayed at the Henderson Resort across the street and were happy to discover the Beach Walk Cafe, which serves breakfast and lunch exclusively to the Henderson Inn B&B guests, is open to the public for dinner. The menu does not have any vegetarian mains. The chef, however, came out to greet us in the foyer before we made reservations and discussed what he could prepare. We enjoyed a very pleasant evening sitting outside on the deck and shared warm bread, two delicious salads, a vegetarian pasta, a vegetable plate with risotto, and a homemade cheesecake with caramel raspberry sauce. The pie crust was divine! Most impressive, though, was the vegetable plate - a generous portion of seasonal veggies sautéed to perfection. We went home with ample leftovers. It was a pricey dinner but worth it for a treat! read more

I give this place a mere three stars because the food did not live up to the price tag. If I am going to pay $100 or better for dinner for two I expect to be blown away. We started with the eggplant appetizer, and while it was good, at $15 bucks it was barely enough for a fee bites. I had the grouper which was excellent but again a smaller portion than expected for $34. My wife had the petite filet and it was very dry. I also ordered their Mac n cheese, which the waiter bragged about, I found it oily and not very cheesy while my wife seemed to enjoy it. All in all this is a decent restaurant with an excellent view but if you want an expensive meal that is worth the price tag you may want to look elsewhere. read more

A nearly perfect evening started the moment we walked in. Everyone was gracious and accommodating, even the valet. We had reservations for a sunset view on the veranda which I highly recommend. The sunset was fabulous, the breeze was blowing and I was across from a beautiful woman. The service was A+, the food was excellent and the wine choices were good. You must save room for dessert AND you must share it. The desserts are HUGE. I was surprised at the reasonableness of the prices in a touristy vacation location like Destin. The location is a perfect date night and in fact every table I saw in the dining room and on the veranda was a couple. It's also a B&B and highly rated as a wedding venue. What a magical experience my fiance and I had at this restaurant. Located withing a beautiful bed and breakfast, the view was breath taking. The young lady that took my reservation was excellent. I told her it was to celebrate a special night, and that I wanted a reservation at 7. She told me I should consider coming in a half hour early for a perfect sunset dinner. Man am I glad i took her advice. What a beautiful night. The server was excellent, so professional, and very attentive. The food was second to none. I would recommend this place to anyone. This place is a real gem. We had a party of four and they were right on time with our reservation. The maitre d and wait staff are real professionals. You feel like your in the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard. Simple but elegant menu. They don't try to trick you up with too much fru fru. I had the cap steak of the ribeye. Tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. The banana cream pie was obscenely large and pushed Emeril's to second place. Definitely its a place to bring your wife or date. Wow. I've been coming to Destin for vacation my whole life and this is absolutely the best restaurant I've ever eaten at in the area. The ambiance, view, food, roses after dinner...it's just amazing. Even the Tuscan bread before the meal was delicious! I had the French split chicken which had the most spectacular goat cheese brûlée on top. My husband had the grouper dish and the saffron rice under it was as good as the fish! We've said we'll eat here at least two nights from now on when we visit. The price isn't even extravagant, but I'd pay more for that delicious meal if I had to. SO GOOD! read more

We have been coming to Destin for years and this is the by far the best food I have eaten in Destin. We started with the crab cakes and then the goats cheese spinach salad with a bacon vinaigrette. I highly recommend the spinach salad. My wife had the shrimp and grits while I had the pecan crusted grouper. All of the food was excellent! read more

Wow!! We were extremely blown away with this place. Came on a summer weeknight and had some truly amazing food and drink. We didn't have a chance to make a rez, but we were able to get a table just the two of us. Then we got wonderful experience with our server Sam, who made an excellent wine recommendation, happily joked around with us all night long, and timed our meal perfectly. And then... THE FOOOOD!! Seriously everything that came to the table was more delicious than we were expecting, even the bread and herb sauce. We got a scallop appetizer, salad, lobster tails, shrimp and grits and a key lime pie to end. Everything was so so so good. Will be coming back here every time we're in destin. It's a nice restaurant - and Destin doesn't have much "fine dining" so this is definitely one of the higher end choices. The wine list was nice, bread to start the meal was warm and tasty, and the Crab Cake appetizer was tiny but very good. The Snapper main course Oscar was very good while the Grouper Vince was under seasoned and didn't quite live up to expectations. The strange thing about this place however is the management - we arrived around 7:30-ish on a Friday night and were asked to sit in the lobby since we didn't have a reservation and they would see if they could fit us in (as they had done for a couple before us). However, while sitting in the lobby we had a view directly into the dining room which confirmed that only 3 tables were filled (out of maybe 15 total) plus there were only a couple tables outside that were being utilized (out of maybe 10 total) and there appeared to be plenty of staff on this slow night including a number of servers. Maybe the kitchen was understaffed but I still have no idea why they were making such a big deal about making us wait and apparently trying to seem "exclusive" (which others in town have told me is their thing), but it was just a bit of a strange welcome and atmosphere. Realistically, this place is stuck in a bit of a 1990's fine dining time warp and the clientele appears to be very much on the older, moneyed side but overall it was a pleasant meal and I might consider returning. read more

I took my fiancé here for his birthday. We had the most amazing dining experience. They had valet right outside the restaurant. We were greeted by the most friendly and welcoming men working valet. When walking into the restaurant we were then greeted by the manager who really took an interest on making sure we had a great time from the moment walking in. We sat outside which had the most amazing views. We ordered the Thai jumbo shrimp for an appetizer which was great. For dinner I had the venison. It was deliciously prepared over a sweet potato mash and fried onions on top. I would order that meal over again. He ordered the Grouper which was breaded with pecans and that was delicious as well. We ended the meal with the soufflé which was cooked to perfection. Not every day one is able to eat a meal like this right on the gulf. It was breathtaking. Everything we ordered was nothing less than excellent! We will definitely be back here. The unfortunate part is that Vegas is home. read more

One of the top three meals I have experienced anywhere. Cannot give you one negative about our experience here. I had the red snapper and my wife had the Maine lobster tails. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and nice presentation. Had a wonderful cream bur lee with berries for desert with French pressed coffee, again excellent. This restaurant is great. Food is good and artfully prepared. The rules however are bizarre. If you get there and order cocktails and wine you aren't allowed to order an appetizer until you order the whole meal and then certainly not allowed to have bread until you have ordered the whole meal because you might possibly spill olive oil on the menus. It's a bit ridiculous. It's a great restaurant and worth visiting but maybe lighten up?? I mean if we are wiling to spend this for dinner we maybe are not going to ruin your menu with olive oil...? read more

We dined here for our anniversary and I have to say it's one of the best restaurants I've been to and that's hard to find these days. We sat outside and loved the seaside romantic atmosphere. Even though there were a few other parties around us it was very quiet which was SO nice! We had the cheese tray which was delicious, my husband had the filet mignon which he said melted like butter it was so tender. I had the grouper which was also delicious. For dessert we had banana cream pie which was to die for. The service was a bit slow for us as we were our water's only table outside and I think he kept forgetting about us. Terrible experience! First time here. We were referred by my son. My sister and her husband joined myself and my husband with what we thought would be a great evening. We arrived early and was rudely greeted by the manager who promptly stated the obvious but seated us anyway. The food began to arrive and as we ate our salads, a waitress who had also been snarky with us, poured a whole carafe of iced tea on my sister. It splashed off of her lap into her face and ran down her skirt into her sandals. She was literally soaked with iced tea. We were inside so she was freezing. The staff cleaned it up but the manager did not address the situation as he should have for a quality restaurant at this price point. He asked my sister if she wanted a blanket which I thought was also strange. After the incident, our table was ignored. Nobody checked on us until the manager brought our check. I assumed that my sister and her husband, who also got wet, would be compensated for their meal but he was only going to take my sister's steak off of the bill. I told him that was unacceptable and he should comp the entire meal. He said that he would and stomped off slamming the swinging doors to the kitchen on his way out. Very rude and very non professional as a manager of a fine restaurant. With all of the choices in Destin to eat this should be at the bottom of your list. read more

By far the best dinner experience I've had. I treated my fiancé to dinner at Beach Walk Cafe for his birthday and wow, did I do great!! Walking into the beachy, calm and romantic atmosphere, I knew the dinner experience was going to be one to remember! After everyone took the time reviewing the long list of wines and cocktails, we ordered our drinks and added on some out of this world appetizers to kick off the night. Fried green tomatoes, bacon wrapped diver scallops, housemade jumbo lump crab cakes, and Thai chili shrimp... you just can't beat it. The night continued with more delectable food items from mouthwatering lobster tails to perfectly cooked 8 oz. filets. I couldn't choose between the sides so I decided to get the roasted brussels sprouts, three cheese lobster mac and cheese, and the best part of the meal... truffled risotto. Believe me when I say, if I could have one dish for the rest of my life, it would be the truffled risotto. Of course, we saved room for dessert so we could enjoy some key lime pie and a classic creme brûlée (my fav). It was a night to remember! I ordered the Vince Grouper after the suggestion from our server it was the most sold dish on the menu. I don't mind spending money on good food, and I won't say this is the worst I've had, but I will say I hate spending 80+ dollars on a meal for myself I felt I could have had better elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. We dined here last night for an early birthday dinner while visiting Destin. All the staff was very pleasant, our waitress was exceptionally nice and accommodating. The food was all delicious, the rose at the end of dinner was a nice touch, and the walk outside after dinner to the patio and then fire pit down below really made it a romantic evening! One of the best fine dining experiences I've had! My only complaint is that when my boyfriend called to make a reservation he was told they only had one inside table left, yet when we arrived for our 8:30pm reservation there were several tables inside and outside. My husband and I were celebrating our thirteenth wedding anniversary and we're looking for a special place to celebrate. I found Beach Walk on Yelp. We went on a whim. Didn't have reservations but they made an exception for us. The eggplant appetizer was scrumptious and the wheat bread dipped in the brown butter sauce from the appetizer was heaven. As a true Southern women I can be exceptionally harsh and have high expectations when it comes to Southern cuisine. The Beach Walk did not disappoint, as a matter of fact it exceeded my expectations. I had the lamb special with asparagus. It melted in my mouth! My husband had the shrimp and grits. The sauce was yummy and so were the shrimp but the sausage was not the same quality. Went for our 10 year anniversary dinner and I must say we were treated like fancy people. First we pull up at the restaurant/inn and get commentary valet parking. Then once inside we were seated at a table looking out at the gulf. beautiful. Next the food. Delish. Our appetizer consisted of fried eggplant with lump crab meat drizzled with an amazing sauce. For dinner, I had the chefs creation, rack of lamb with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. My wife had the pecan crusted snapper with a jalapeño potato cake. Somehow we managed to save room for the chocolate of the day dessert which was large enough to share and off the charts amazing! Our waitress was exceptional and met our every need. Our dinner experience was beyond our expectations. We strolled the beach and enjoyed a beautiful sunset after dinner. The property is amazing to say the least!!
