Upon arrival we were greeted by our innkeeper for the night and a snack plate that included cheese, crackers, dried fruit, nuts, and salmon was ready for us to take up to our room. This snack plate is prepared everyday. The room was very comfortable and we loved the attention to detail. We stayed in the Egret room and we had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and could slightly hear the sea lions from our room. No t.v. in the room and it was nice to connect with nature and rest. There was an indoor heater in the closet that we turned on to heat up the room and turned off when we slept. The blankets kept us warm at night. One night after staying out at the fire pit to hang out with other guests, we got back to our room to shower and we didn't have hot water. One of the innkeeper's told us sometimes it happens when too many people are showering at once. Not a deal breaker, although I want to share because this is something that I'd want to know. Back to good stuff...their breakfast is delicious every morning. It tastes like it is made with love. There is a trail down to the beach and a fire pit where they have all the ingredients necessary to make smores. The view is spectacular here. Truly one of a kind. We loved our experience here and look forward to coming back.

The food is always outstanding. The appetizer board included with your meal is such a treat of local small bites and hearty dark bread. Let your server know if you want the appetizer board to be vegetarian. Vegetarians and vegans have plenty of delicious entree options that go far beyond the usual 'pasta with vegetables' option such as the Spanakopita or the stuffed bell pepper over portobello mushroom. Meat eaters can enjoy the wide range of special barbecue options, the oysters, or fresh fish. Save room for one of their amazing desserts. We often have the Goat Cheese Coeur á la Crème which always feels decadent and light at the same time. The flourless chocolate cake is simply decadent (and not light) but oh-so-good. Instead, it was sitting directly inside the box, which was unhygienic and unacceptable. Unfortunately, we had to throw it away. I used to go to this cafe untill several months ago. It was after I saw a man chased out of the cafe for viewing a web page on flow charts. One of the emplyees saw the page and accused him of putting porn on their computer. I saw the web page and it was about flow charts. Up in the right hand cornner of the page was a click add with a good looking woman laying face down on a bed. The image was part of a series of adds along the right side of the page. It was a small picture in a add and not the main page. When this man tryed to show this to the worker she refused to examin the page and litterly chase the man out of the cafe. I was shocked and so was another customer. I'm not sure what happened, but the worker was clearly out of line. Beond that, the BeachComber seems like a confortabal place although rather price for what you get. They also seem to take orders (and $$$) and then forget to provide the food. This happened to me on a regular basis. It is also a very loud place. I also noticed that almost all the customers were very much the same, no diversity at all. It's not reflective of the overall communit, but does reflect the general anti-government sentiment of the local "cash crop community," if you know what I mean. read more

Great little place in a great little town with a big head. Many organic coffees, teas, treats, sandwiches, most excellent soups and other wonderful home made dishes. In all honesty, I have never, ever, had such excellent soups and stews as I have enjoyed at the Beachcomber. Ever! Sorry Ma, but it is the truth. They are a free wireless coffee shop, so bring your laptop. There is a computer there if you don't have a laptop. They keep their connection working pretty much all the time. I surf at a lot of free WiFi hot spots and quite often there will be some problem getting on the net. Thanks to this guy named Chandler, they keep there connection up. read more
