We contacted Beacon Plumbing in the late evening due to an emergency. Technician Giovanni and apprentice Elijah were promptly dispatched within 1 hour. Our downstairs bathroom ceiling was at the point of caving in with water slowly dripping from the area. They opened the bathroom ceiling and found the toilet wax ring in the upstairs master bathroom was the issue. The water was leaking down to the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom from the broken seal. The root issue has been fixed. We were impressed by their response time, expertise, knowledge, and outstanding service. Their communication and professionalism were top notch. The service was reasonably priced. I've used Beacon twice now, both kind of emergency situations. David helped us with a toilet that was shooting out water from the base in our brand new house. He showed up at 11pm and despite a long day was very pleasant to be around and took great care of us, helping us to understand our new septic system on the fritz. Did I mention it was the day before Thanksgiving? He was also back on Thanksgiving to pump our septic which wasn't set up correct by another company- legit good guy. Mike and his partner today were also great today when we were attempting to locate a water leak. He also helped educate us on the problem and some basic dumb homeowner mistakes to not make. Very enthusiastic and clearly knew what he was doing. When you have emergencies, these are the type of people you want around- smart and quick to diagnose the problem. They came quickly and were able to identify the leak quickly after using their sound detection device. They gave us two honest recommendations (replace main line vs. repair broken area) and started repairs after we made our decision. The process was fairly quick, starting diagnostic on Wednesday and finished work Tuesday next week, and this was in between thanksgiving break. They came during the break and weekend to do some work and worked quickly to finish once the week started. My furnace would not turn off. Called Beacon in Auburn and the two guys showed up exactly on time. Wire to thermostat had a short, and relay in furnace was kaput. Furnace had not been serviced since 2010 (new house for me) so I asked for complete service. Guys were professional, polite, well mannered, and loved my two dogs. After service, I could not believe the amount of air rushing out of my forced air floor vents! I could have done a Marilyn in the kitchen. Furnace is so quiet now, instead of clunking and humming. The house is warmer and the furnace doesn't turn on nearly as much when it was struggling. They did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier! read more

My pipes froze and flooded my house. Beacon came out. The plumber, Steve, was nice enough and as far as I can tell, he fixed the pipes. All seemed good. Then I had to deal with the office. Mark J thinks very highly of himself and it shows by his pompous attitude. He was difficult for my insurance company to deal with. All they needed was documentation and pictures. I tried to intervene, and he gave me an earful on what an important person he thinks he is and how important he thinks he is to the company. Mark J claimed the plumber took no pictures. For an insurance claim. Pictures are pretty standard. When someone is stonewalling for no discernible reason, I question their integrity. Annie's follow-up regarding not taking pictures of broken pipes due to privacy concerns is incredibly condescending and shows Beacon's lack of accountability. Beacon knew it was an insurance claim. The plumber knew it was an insurance claim. It was my first time dealing with a broken pipe, but I assumed Beacon had previous experience with insurance claims and would know how to proceed with the customer's best interests in mind. Water was shooting out from the line that goes into the toilet onto the bathroom floor. There was not room enough for a bucket on the side of the toilet where the water was pouring out. We kept filling a pitcher and dumping it into a bucket and pouring it into the bathtub. We ran out of Shamwows and towels. The water shut-off to the toilet was broken and we do not have a water shut-off inside our1926 home and we were having difficulty turning off the ancient one in the street. About five minutes into this ordeal, I thought of "Stop freakin' Call Beacon." And I did. I was babbling from the stress, and I was not sure the gal answering the phone understood, but she gave us a time window when a plumber would arrive. Meanwhile, an hour in, my husband was able to turn street valve off. We were damp and exhausted when Travis arrived. He was so calm and competent that I thought surely, he was sent from heaven. He switched out the broken parts very quickly and went with my husband to turn the water back on from the box in the street. And now there was water leaking inside the box!! Travis gave us the hotline for the city to report water leaking and told us what to say. He double checked everything before he headed out into the night, and we were grateful that Beacon has a 24-hour hotline and especaily grateful that Travis was the guy who showed up. read more

I was in Florida, on business, when the water heater died a watery death. I asked my daughter to call Beacon, as we've used them in the past and were extremely satisfied. Will was there within the hour to remove the failed unit and get in touch with the Quick Dry restoration team.. After 5 days of fans and dehumidifiers in the laundry closet, hallway, under house and kitchen, we got a water heater. My husband had a good experience with them. I personally did not have to work with them all I know I thought it was a bit pricey butttt I know nothing about the costs of plumbing. Lol. The 1 star reviews are real. Read them. There is a consistent complaint with Beacon. They take advantage of your emergency plumbing situation and charge an insane amount of money, knowing you really don't have another option. I tried to go with someone else to replace a bunch of old sink valves and hoses but they were all busy. Beacon was able to come out the same day. I give them that.. they are at least responsive and will attempt to fix your problem. But be prepared to spend a ridiculous amount of money when it can be done for 1/4 cost doing it yourself or hiring an honest handyman. All I needed was 8 old sink valves and hoses replaced. I went to HD and bought all the parts to do it myself. I had a hell of a time getting them installed and not leak when I turned the water on. Knowing I was about to sell my home, I began to panic. I didn't want to risk a flood and of course, I decided to attempt this on a Sunday. So I gave them a call. With all the parts I bought, my total was $100. When Beacon came and gave me a quote, I thought to myself.. please don't say $600. Please don't be that high... Phew!! Good news. It was not $600. No.. how silly of me. It was $1,800! I was literally speechless. I came so close to just saying.. get out. With that said, I bit the bullet and agreed for them to do the work. It turned out to not be so easy. The old plastic push/pull valves were an SOB to get off. Both myself and the Beacon guy had bloody hands trying to get these stubborn things off. I admit, the guy worked his ass off. What would normally be an easy job was very difficult. But $1,800? No wonder they could afford to pay Marshawn Lynch for their commercials back in the day. @Mark (Business Owner) Revenge? No. Really odd to insinuate that. It's a warning to others that find themselves in similar situations to consider other businesses who might be available that don't charge a "premium". $17,891.25 for a sewer spot repair. What did this get me? 1) a large sinkhole at the digging site on my parking strip (see photo). Per their website they put landscaping back just as they found it. The tech also assured me that they will put it back as they found it. Clearly this is not the case. I have no idea if this is soil settling or a massive leak in my sewer line. Because Beacon robs their customers then immediately disappears, I have $0 to my name at this point and cannot hire anyone to come and take a look at it. HORRIBLE. 2) a 2 ft x 2 ft hole in my drywall where they caused a leak in a pipe and had to break through my wall to fix it (see photo - the leak was channeling through the electrical socket). 3) leaks in other pipes, not fixed (see photo). 4) NO breakdown of the charges. Just ONE charge of $17,891.25. 5) I was promised on several occasions a video of the scope inspection of my sewer line both before and after the work. I have neither. They are refusing to show me the videos. I have GRAVE concerns that there were no issues with my pipes to begin with. I also have SERIOUS concerns that they didn't even do the job correctly because I have NO way to verify what it looks like in my pipes. 6) PREDATORY pricing and staff. Totally took advantage of a new homeowner (it was pretty obvious). I should never have agreed to their work and am now $18,000 in debt to a financing company who opened a credit card in my name (without even notifying or asking me?). SKETCHY business practices and overall horrible folks to work with. 7) NO responses to phone calls, voicemails, concerns, complaints, etc. Empty promises. I've called them at least a dozen times to speak about my dissatisfaction with the work and requesting the videos of the camera inspection but my calls were never returned. Not one. PLEASE DO NOT CALL BEACON PLUMBING EVEN IF IN AN EMERGENCY. They are a crooked, shady company that will take advantage of you and your property and leave it in shambles. They will lie through their teeth and do whatever it takes to take your money and will disappear as soon as they "finish the job". STAY AWAY. read more

Service you CAN NOT trust! I asked for a bid to replace my 75 gallon hot water heater. I was shocked at the price he gave me! $8750.00. This is for a single family 4 bedroom home. He said the price had really gone up. I called the company to check on the model number so I could get the price. I found it for $2615-$2749. WOW! Let's say $500 more in parts need to be purchased. This means installation would cost $5,500-$5,600. I called and asked to speak to someone that could break down the bid for me. This was an exhausting conversation! Very rude, very gruff. Would not break down the price for me. Said it was in their contract. He would not even tell me his last name after asking him 3 times. Long story short, I was told there must have been some misunderstanding. Hmmmm, I have it all written down on paper. New price now is $4,200. No thank you! You lost my trust. What a scam! The next company that came out to gave me a bid of $3200. However he said it was not even up to code to put a 75 gallon tank in my house due to improper ventilation. Not only did they try to significantly overcharge me, were unnecessarily rude to me, but they were also going to do work that was not up to code. I asked for a ballpark quote over the phone which they would not give me. After the tech came by and said "yeah, it's broken" he wrote up a $750 estimate to replace it. The disposal costs $100 what is the other $650 for? He said it was a fixed price they charge. Then why could they not give this to me over the phone? I called another company who wanted $150 for the install, + Cost of the product. This was reasonable, but in the end I just youtubed it and did it myself. The standing water was looked at, they didn't know what to do after that. My tenant describes the two guys who showed up as "Keystone cops." They left. The Farmers insurance adjuster, who came out today, says that a 2 year old (plumber?) would have either found a drain in the laundry room, or removed the toilet and started a snake. You guys just took off. The Beacon plumber says they were trying to call me but there is no record of that, but I do have the original message of the first and only contact. Yesterday we had to call a plumber because the Kitchen sink and Laundry room were backing up and flooding. The gentleman was very nice and quick to show up however the issue was a simple clog, obviously not simple enough to do it yourself but you get it. He couldn't get it unclogged and said his cable wasn't long enough. He seemed to be in a hurry to leave and didn't put much effort into his work. What's irritating Is he was not able to fix the clog and billed the older fella in my house $500 still. This evening our landlord hand handymen come over and they fixed the problem in 40 minutes. Just because an NFL player did a commercial once doesn't mean a company is worth anything. If a hired outfit cannot complete the work they shouldn't get paid. The work on installing a tankless water heater was professional, but the labor cost was unreasonably expensive.

The man who answered the phone had a cold. He kept coughing into the phone and blasting my ears. The plumber did come out to fix my leaking toilet within an hour. If I had bothered to read any other Yelp reviews, I would never have called them. He charged over $1000 to have the toilet lifted up and a new ring put in! oh my gosh!! When I had a heated tile floor installed, the tile man didn't adjust for the new height created and it had been slowly leaking for years until I saw a stain on the ceiling below. The plumber made suggestions about how to find the problem. Open the ceiling to look or perhaps it's the shower instead. I said no to those extra expenses. What a con! Did he think because I'm a woman I wouldn't know what to do and agree to another outrageous fee? Don't use Beacon and help pay for their TV commercials. read more

DO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY UNTIL CHECKING/COMPARING THEIR QUOTE WITH ANOTHER PLUMBING COMPANY The only positive thing I can say about them is that they were there within the hour. But once they arrived it was all downhill from there. We noticed the drain valve on the front of the hot water tank was dripping so we called Beacon. They give you the impression on the phone that the $75 diagnostics fee would be rolled into the cost if you go with them for the repair or replacement (I.e. how it works at every other service business but this one). The guy gets there takes one look at it and says 'that'll be about $850 to fix. Will that be check or card?' I'm like you don't do the work first? Nope need payment. But he won't tell me what the issue is. Feeling kind of stuck I'm like ok so I pay the $850. I ask him can I use this $50 coupon and he goes 'no I don't know how to do that you'll have to talk to corporate maybe they'll mail you a check or something...' He had it fixed within 5 minutes (which explains why he demanded payment first), it just needed a new valve. There's no breakdown for parts/labor on the receipt but I'm fairly confident the materials (valve) was probably less than $25 which means they charged like $700+ for labor for a 3 minute job. For that kind of money you better be showing up to my house with a stethoscope, that is just ridiculous..lawyers don't even make that! Likely should have cost about $150 for labor (still extremely generous for 3 minutes of work) , $25 for part + $75 trip fee = $250...I paid 3.5 times that. I even tried to send them an email expressing my frustration but the email on their receipt (attached) turned out to be invalid (boy, they really do not want to hear feedback from their customers, smh) So I went on their website and used their online messaging system to try to get in touch with them and never heard back. I rarely leave reviews, it takes a lot for me to feel this ripped off but these guys are shady, I would highly recommend finding another plumbing company with whom to do business. read more
