Let me preface this review by saying I have had a mice problem for several years, I kept it under control with mice traps, but they always come back. I've finally said enough is enough and decided to hire a professional. John showed up on time and quickly examined my house from top to bottom and the perimeter. He looked for holes and crevices from where the mice came from and filled it all in; he even mentioned that he knows many other pest control companies don't like to do this because it permanently keeps pests away which means lost business, but he likes to do it the proper way. We have used them on a number of occasions for mice and the dreaded centipedes and we could not be happier with the service we received along with excellent results. I rarely have time to write Yelp reviews but after my great experience with Beantown Pest, I had to take the time and write this: I am the property manager of multiple properties in Boston and one of them had bedbugs. I really wouldn't wish this on anyone because it's a headache. Other than having to deal with the bedbugs, you also have to deal with the tenants who were freaking out. John was able to show up and talk to the tenants on the very next day to calm them down. He later gave us clear instructions on how to prep and did not try to nickel and dime us like the other Pest companies that we talked to. Instead he was very confident that he will solve the problem. When the first 2 treatments did not work (and that's really because the tenants didn't fully follow the instructions), John diligently kept at it until fixing the problem. What was really impressive is that John was the one messaging me on a daily basis to make sure that his work was successful. After a tenant moved out of my building, and I moved in, I quickly noticed that there was a bedbug issue in the apartment that they never informed me of. Based on a recommendation, I contacted John on a Friday, and he was able to schedule a free inspection less than 24 hours later. After checking the apartment, and the unit below mine, we worked out a treatment the following Saturday, and a follow-up treatment a couple weeks later. He was very helpful and flexible with setting up time, especially given that there were two units being treated, with both of us having somewhat different availability. All told I went from waking up with bite marks, and scrambling to use every chemical and tactic to keep the bedbugs at bay, to having the issue resolved in short order. What was a nightmare situation, from having trouble sleeping--and when I could, waking up with welts on my arms--is now one where I no longer worry. After suspecting that we had a flea problem, we contacted three pest control services on a Saturday morning. The only one to call us back the same day was John from Beantown Pest Control. I recently bought a condo in Medford, which had a pre-existing termite problem. I looked around Yelp and found Beantown Pest Control was one of the higher rated companies in the area. John came by and did a free inspection of the problem and gave a very reasonable quote to take care of the issue. He came by today and, again, was extremely friendly and good to work with. He laid out my options, and answered all of the questions I had about the process (this is my first time owning a home, therefor first exterminator). He offered to come back a year from now and make sure things worked out as planned. I would never wish termites on anybody, but if you ever find yourself needing an exterminator for those (or other pests), call these guys! If you have read my other two reviews for other exterminating companies, you will realize how difficult it is to find one that: A. Calls you back and B. Shows up. If we continue with my dating analogy in those other reviews, Beantown Pest Control is like the guy you want to take home to meet your parents. He shows up on time (not only did John show up but he arrived ten minutes early), smiles (he even told us our baby was cute), and treats you to dinner (okay he didn't offer us dinner, but he offers free estimates which is apparently not standard in this industry as the competition quoted $150 just to do an inspection). FYI they do offer a paid report option if needed. We thankfully do not have termites but we are somewhat glad that the home inspector suggested we might as we never would have crossed paths with this exterminator otherwise. You can contact them via phone or online. If you contact them online, it says they respond within 24 hours. John, however, contacted within minutes on a weeknight. We were impressed with his friendly demeanor, customer service, and knowledge, and would hire him again without hesitation. Hopefully, our next home will not necessitate his services, but if it does, we will be making a second date with him. :) read more

I didn't know there was such as thing as a personable exterminator..... I'd like to say that this was my best exterminator experience, but that is a vast understatement. I've had many professionals out to my house, i.e. contractors, electricians, plumbers, because I don't have handy bone in my body, and John blew them all away. 5 stars! I am so impressed with Beantown Pest Control. I called on a Saturday in a panic because I suspected that I had bed bugs in my apartment. I left a message and within five minutes John called back and I was able to schedule an inspection. John came to my apartment and was able to look at the bug I had trapped that morning (yuck) and told me that I did not have bed bugs. To my relief, John explained that the bugs were actually tiny spiders. He offered several tips for getting rid of the spiders and explained that insecticide could be used but that it was not necessary. John was very helpful. I was concerned that I might have bed bugs because someone who comes and visits me a lot has bed bugs. John called me back right away even though it was the weekend. He agreed to come do an inspection for free! He didn't find any signs of bed bugs and even gave recommendations for how to go forward in case there were bed bugs he wasn't able to detect or in case of possible infection after his inspection. My bed was currently on the floor and so he recommended getting a frame and buying bed bug detectors that go on the feet of the bed and capture bed bugs if they are going up or down the bed. read more
