I've been going to beard papa's for over a decade. This new location is really convenient and located close to other great restaurants. Good place to stop by to fill any cravings for a delicious pastry. They have a lot of selections and flavors so there's something for everyone. The people working behind the counter were also really nice. The only potential downside is there isn't really any seating. But these cream puffs are great to take to a gathering or you can enjoy them while you walk around outside. read more

Went for the grand opening and the line was really long, so we left to go eat lunch and then came back around 12:30pm. It was still an hour total wait time to order and get the cream puffs. For grand opening, they had a limited menu with three options for shells: original, oreo, and chocolate. There was a buy 5 get 1 deal. We got the 6 + an extra cream puff from a coupon for following them on Instagram. Since I had Beard Papa's before, I knew the original was a classic - shell was crispy and filling was creamy without being overly sweet. The one downside is that these cream puffs really need to be eaten on the spot for maximum freshness - I ate another later in the afternoon and the shell was starting to become soft. At the grand opening today they opened at 11am first 100 customers I got a free cap and three coupons to use for next time expires 2/4/24. They have three flavors original, chocolate, and Oreo Cookies and cream. No mini puffs for now. They have a limited menu for grand opening but should expand to a full menu eventually. I haven't had Beard Papa in the longest so it was nice to see one open in Cerritos in their own store. They have monthly specials of different flavors which is nice just to try something new because the classic vanilla and chocolate come to mind. The time I went there was a passion fruit peach and seriously that was so delicious. These huge cream puffs are perfectly filled with enough filling to bread ratio. But what I like is it isn't super sweet. They also have mini puffs that are just one bite but only in classic flavors. Parking is shared between other dine in establishments. read more

I had Beard Papa's over a decade ago and thought it was really good then. I ordered a pickup of 6 minis with vanilla. It was lightly and perfectly sweet. However, the outside was odd. Some of it was what I would expect from a cream puff, but the bottom was hard and crunchy. I don't mind texture, but there was a crunchy saltiness which didn't work well as a whole. It is too expensive personally for me to spend nearly $10 with tax on 6 mini cream puffs. For that price, I'd want better. read more

I've never had a cream puff other than the frozen ones from Costco so I was super excited to try a "real" cream puff! I would get Beard Papa's ads all over Instagram so I was like, "Yeah, I'll for sure try it and get the matcha one!". I don't remember what was there before Beard Papa's opened up, but the place itself was pretty small and empty. It's expected to be empty because it's a grab-n-go place like the Crumbl Cookie across the parking lot. The walls were painted nicely, and the eclairs looked appetizing. The employee was a bit awkward. I can't remember if they greeted us when we came in, but you have to tell them you're ready to order. Otherwise, they'll just kind of stand around and stare at you and the parking lot. Other than that, they were okay. I got the Green Tea Eclair with Vanilla Filling, and my boyfriend got the Oreo Cookie Crumble Eclair with Vanilla Filling. I thought cream puffs were supposed to be soft so I didn't know they would have a crunchy outside and be softer towards the middle. The cream puff itself was good, but you definitely need to eat it as soon as you get it. I gave my sister half of my cream puff to try it, and she told me she smelled a fried fishy smell from the cream puff. I smelled it after her, and I could smell it as well. It did not smell like that when I first got it so be sure to eat it after you get it! I don't think I would come back again because I'm not interested in the other flavors, and I don't think I like cream puffs. However, it is definitely something everyone should try once because I think lots of people only have had Costco cream puffs! read more

This store just opened on January 27, 2024. I've only had frozen cream puffs at Costco, so having a store dedicated solely to cream puffs is new and delightful. Only two employees were working at the time when we ordered, but they worked fast and efficiently. Unfortunately, they did not have ALL the item menus at that time and only had Original, Oreo, and Chocolate which came with their Soft Opening promotion deal. It's not too sweet or overwhelming with sugar like most typical American pastries, which makes it so much more enjoyable. Just opened 1/27/24. Small store. Clean. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Currently have a promo of buy 5 get 1 free. It is individually wrapped which takes some time to prepare. They are still getting used to moving around. So far the only filling they have is original with 3 puffs to choose from: original, chocolate and cookie crumble (oreo). Filling is not too sweet and it is manually added by staff. Puffs are crunchy yet soft and combine it with the filling, so good! Beard Papa's is FINALLY back in Cerritos! Arrived on opening day around 7pm and the line wasn't too bad! We got the original cream puff which was extremely buttery and soft. The custard wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount inside. They currently offer three flavors - Original, Oreo and Chocolate. Only vanilla custard filling available at this time! Ok so I was being a little lazy fatty on a Friday night and ordered from here Uber eats. They packaged my delivery so cute ! I got a strawberry eclair with chocolate custard. It had a mix of chocolate and vanilla tho which is fine by me! It was so good. Sweet but airy like puff pastry meets donut. Satisfied my cravings ! And I also got the matcha white chocolate chip cookie which looked brown with a green hue on the inside- still very tasty. Perfect amounts of soft and chewy. The absolute BEST cream puffs in SoCal, even in Japan, just opened up in Cerritos. You guys, one bite of this takes you to airy, cream-filled heaven. Crunchy, soft, buttery, light, and creamy, all at the same time. They have so many flavors like Oreo and a special creme brûlée! You're in Cerritos, not all Asian/Indian/Mexican parents give their kids credit cards. Lol And not everyone wants to increase their debts. I'm so glad they opened a beard papa back in cerritos! I remember it being near skate depot and it suddenly closed down. The establishment is clean and the service is friendly. But they are inconsistent on how much cream they put in the puffs. On slower days with no customers, they will pump twice of the cream into your puffs and weigh them to see if the correct amount was inserted. On busier days I see that they only pump the cream in once and don't weigh it. read more

I haven't had Beard Papa's in ages. The last time I had one was when I lived in the South Bay before COVID. How I've missed these cream puffs. These cream puffs are the real deal! We got the Papas Faves Mixed 6-Pack - original, chocolate, matcha, creme brulee, strawberry, and mint chip - all with delicious vanilla custard. I definitely love sweets, but I also feel a lot better knowing it's not too much I came on their grand opening day around 9:40am and there was already a huge line of people waiting outside. As I was making my way to the end of the line, I counted that there were 38 people so I was like okay cool because I wanted to be the first 100 to get their free prizes LOL Once they open their doors at 11:00, it took awhile for them to get through the lines because I didn't get to order until 11:40. However, I understand that grand openings are very hectic and they did an incredible job!! Customer service was great and the cream puffs were amazing. There's a lot of cream filling inside! Once the other flavors are available, I will be back. The original, chocolate, and Oreo cream puffs were great, but I really want to try strawberry or Ube!! Upon walking in, the store was pretty empty and small as well. the menu now offers five different cream puffs, including the valentines special which is the raspberry cream puff. because its only offered for a limited time, I chose the raspberry with white chocolate as well as got the original for free with a voucher via instagram dm. the raspberry cream puff isn't bad, but i thought it was kinda too sweet for me, so I would prefer the original. unfortunately I did have to wait more than 5 minutes for my order even though there was no one before me.
