Beard Papa's puffs are tasty. The custard filling is much tastier than the traditional cream filling puffs. There are different flavors but I enjoy the original the best. Aside from the regular puff shells, they have other flavors now. The interior decor is inviting to sit and enjoy the dessert ordered here. The store was also selling other items like mochi ice cream and other desserts. The staff was friendly and prompt in assembling my puff order.

This place sells so many different types of desserts there is something for everyone. Bears papa has very fresh filling and lots of different flavors to choose from. There is a wide variety of mochi ice cream to choose from. The place has lots of seating for hanging out.

This place sells a really wide variety of desserts. It's been in Irvine for a very long time, and in my opinion, staying in business in one spot for that long in Irvine means the food is genuinely delicious. They have so many types of desserts, but I usually get the bingsu (shaved ice). This time, I tried the black sesame bingsu and wow... it was so good! It wasn't overly sweet, and it felt like it refreshed my entire mind in this hot summer heat~! The interior is spacious and they have two huge tables, so even if you go with a large group, there's plenty of room to sit comfortably. It's such a great spot with a diverse dessert selection where everyone can order exactly what fits their own taste! Highly recommended

Standard Beard Papa's. Place is spacious with plenty of seating for small and larger groups. Prices across franchises are definitely increasing over the years, but you sometimes just need that sweet fix. They do a good job of filling the cream puffs full of your choice of cream. Solid place for a hang out.

Yummy dessert to end the night. Not super sweet-- sweetness is just right. We got the original and ube. They run out of certain flavors at 9-ish pm, so come little earlier if you want like Oreo or more popular flavors. Service is good-- not too long of line and accommodating. Ambiance is casual. Lots of families, dates, and studying folks. Would come again!

I came here two weeks ago. The store sign had the name Mochi Dessert Cafe that caught my attention. I didn't realize Beard Papa's was also part of the store until I saw a plaque on the window with the Beard Papa logo. I came for the mochi donut. I wanted to try the Ube flavor. I liked it. Ube is one of my favorite flavors. I would come back and try other mochi flavors. Service was fine.

Beard Papa's, is a very cute establishment in the plaza where Mitsuwa Irvine is located. Walking through the doors, the kids and I were in awe and immediately gravitated to the right where they had a wall theme of cats. Of course we took photos and talked about how the place had a fun and inviting atmosphere. Beard Papa's space is quite large with plenty of tables and seats with additional places to sit outside. The deco definitely gives you the happy feels. It's a cute place to grab dessert and chill with friends. Towards the back is where you will find the display cases for different desserts, as well as the cashier and some Asian toys or items for purchase. What we ordered; 1) Croissant Taiyaki with Nutella - I actually liked the texture of the croissant Taiyaki. It was buttery just like a croissant. It was different from other Taiyaki I've had but I enjoyed it. 2) Mochi ice creams - we had strawberry, which my kids didn't really like. They thought it tasted a bit like medicine. Mango, they favored this one much better. Matcha - it was ok for me. I felt like this didn't taste like true matcha. Overall, based on our experience, the deco, taiyaki and mochi, it was a 3 out of 5 stars for us. I would definitely return, but I probably would not do the mochi again. I may try those puffs or a drink instead. Ending our night out here was a fun and new experience.

Found this place through my daughter, and recommend everyone to try them out. I am not much of a cream puff person or cream stuff donut type of person. Pretty much the idea of anything stuff with something not my thing, but these puffs are amazing they have the perfect amount of stuffing in every bite and ingredients are good and taste fresh. What is great about these besides how good and soft the bread is that they have a variety of flavors to choose from as well. Staff was great and patient during my decision process on what flavors I wanted to get and answered all my questions.

Cream puffs are always super delicious + location has a selection of Sonny Angels and smiskis merch.

This place has been around for so long and it's obvious why, everything is delicious! The workers offered us samples of the gelato and were very friendly. We ultimately shared a chocolate cream puff and it was so good I wish I got my own lol

I tried green tea, strawberry coconut, black sesame, salted caramel, and mango mochi as well as the lava green tea cake! My favorite was the cake & black sesame mochi. Yum! They were so busy on this rainy day. It was so cozy to be around so many people every seat was nearly filled. Even groups of friends got together today to get out of the rain and enjoy their treats. What a treat!

Thank you so much for the delicious sweets you all make and serve. A friend and I grabbed a small strawberry bingsoo and it was delicious. The strawberries weren't too syrupy! I found myself regretting not getting a larger size but I think it was God's blessings that I didn't hahaha I can become so greedy. The plating of the bingsoo surprised me - in a gold bowl! The service was kind and speedy. There is a good amount of seating that is great for friends to catch up. I love the lighting here.

Ask the Community - Beard Papa's

Are the ZZZ combos still available? Also, if any items are out of stock, are there are any restock plans? I don't want to drive all the way to the place and find out its all gone.

HI! see our ZZZ landing page to find out what stores have promo items. Please see our store in Korea Town in DTLA for all items. Call ahead to confirm.

Are cash paying customers welcome? I don't usually encourage my children to have credit/debit, Apple Pay.... any cards in general.

How long are the cream puffs fresh for? Would they still be good if I picked them up a day before let's say a birthday party?

I've purchased them and had some left over, they do get to tend to get hard after the second or third day.

Does Beard Papa's at this location accept Apple pay or Google pay(Android pay)?

Yes, we do accept Apple and Google pay.

The old adage "You can't judge a book by its cover," is true here. This place looks forgotten, ignored, unassuming, but produces the finest bakery items in Orange County. She stands on tip toes to see you and you have to shout at her and point what you want. The problem is when she sees you, you are near the cash register, so you must say excuse me and walk in front of a line of people to point and shout out what you want.
