    Small pizza
    Cathy R.

Went here with family for lunch. Wowza! It was delicious but expect a lot of food. We skipped breakfast and were all hungry so it was perfect. The pizza has amazing crust and they give you honey to drizzle on it. If you are on a low carb diet, this isn't the place. I ordered a salad for good measure but definitely had my fill of pizza too. My aunt ordered the adult Mac and cheese and it was in a pizza crust. I've never seen this before and it was incredibly good. Staff was quick and friendly. We had a large group and she was super patient and attentive. A definite place to stop if you like pizza.

We had a quick stop so ended at Beau Jo's. We chose a thin crust pizza vs the traditionally thick crust. It was delicious. Will come back.

Probably the best first experience trying a pizza I've ever had. Even my beloved New Haven style had its beginnings in a pizza joint that wasn't 100% authentic. But Beau Jo's the real deal--the real Colorado-made and born Mountain Pie. We thought every bite was amazing-and-a-half, from the great fresh toppings, to the light touches of sauce, and of course the honey-soaked bites at the end. Every taste was a joy, and every joy was one that lived up to the hype. The night's server was impeccable--on the ball, super friendly, and even gave helpful suggestions throughout the night. Even her attempts to upsell, which I normally chafe at, were subtle and not in-your-face like most places. And while we didn't take most of them, it only felt like saying no to a brainstorm and not a pre-gamed question like they do with every customer. The ambience was perfect as well. Lots of room and a good flow to a food joint goes a long way to establish that vibe of a local place being comfy and energetic at the same time. This place and I guess regular crowd gave off nothing but welcoming energy. I'm coming back. Of course I am. This is a place that Scotch likes, so how could I not?

    The stuffed mushrooms

Oh honey, pull up a chair because we are feasting on feelings today. Let's start with the star of the show: THE PIZZA. They are famous for it. YES BABY! Now that's how you work a runway of rolled butter crust. That crunch? Delicate yet dangerous. And the meat, oh sweetheart, there was enough on that pie to make a cardiologist break into a light jog. A triumphant, greasy, gorgeous mess. But then, tragedy struck. Ugh, the stuffed mushrooms. Oh my. Oh my. No sizzle, no pizzazz, just a sad little fungi funeral. Slimy? Crusty? Slightly burnt? Darling, that's not stuffed mushrooms--that's a cry for help. Admittedly, I am a bit of a snob on mushrooms; someone has to uphold standards in this world and clearly it wasn't the kitchen tonight. Now let's cleanse our palates: the salad. YES BAB-- almost YES BABY! Cranberry walnut perfection. A sweet, crunchy little symphony. A salad that makes you wink at yourself in the takeout window reflection. But then the betrayal: WHERE. WAS. THE. CHICKEN. I ordered it. I paid for it. And yet it was absent like a deadbeat parent in a made-for-TV drama. Unforgivable. Overall? A rollercoaster. A culinary soap opera. Highs so high, lows so low you needed emotional support. Would I go back? For that butter crust? Meh, just feeling meh.

Vegan cranberry - walnut salad (minus feta) with dressing on the side

We shared: Large cranberry and walnut salad minus the Feta and the basalmic vinaigrette dressing on the side so we could add only as much as we like instead of having a salad swimming in dressing which happens at most restaurants. 1 pound Vegan sausage and Vegan pepperoni "Mountain Pie" pizza 1/2 with added Calabrian chili peppers and pineapple on a agave - whole wheat crust. Everything we ordered was delicious. The menu makes finding Vegan and Vegetarian options easy and the wait staff paid attention to details of our order. Food came out in a reasonably quick time, salad first. The food was very enjoyable. I likes adding fresh ground Flatiron Pepper Company 4 pepper blend on my salad. The Calabrian peppers add an oiliness to the pizza, so if that bothers you I recommend adding the fresh jalapeño slices instead. The half of the pizza without the added Calabrian chili peppers and pineapple was delicious as always at Beau Jo's. The next time we are eating at this location, we'll probably just order the pizza without the additional ingredients and I'll grind some of 4 pepper blend on it if I'm wanting more zing at that time. We love this pizza and f7or years before we changed our diet from Vegetarian to Vegan would substitute dairy mozzarella for the Vegan cheese we got today. The tastes and textures are different. I've gotten more tolerant of the Vegan cheeses as I've decided that I enjoy reducing my cardiovascular risks more than I crave dairy. It's different but still delicious as a truly Vegan pizza.

What a nice surprise! Beau Jo's Arvada was a real treat. My hubby and I wanted to try authentic Colorado pizza on our roadtrip from San Diego, CA, and Beau Jo's came through! Our waitress Kelly was a delight--super friendly, informative, and efficient. And the pizza with a lil' yummy honey drizzled on the crust...who knew?! Everything is freshly made that day with top-quality ingredients, and it shows. Give 'em a try, and ask for Kelly. She'll make your experience even better!

Pi Day at Beau Jo's in a snowstorm? Yesssss!!!! I had roasted red peppers on my pizza and it was so good (my husband and son always want sausage so we get sausage). The drinks were pretty good and our waiter was very nice too.

Ask the Community - Beau Jo's - Arvada

As someone visiting the Denver area, should I go to the Arvada location? Or the Denver location?

If you can make it work, definitely go to the Idaho Springs location and check out the town while you're up there. Otherwise, I've always had good luck at the Arvada location.

    Are they dog friendly?

    No patio that I saw.

When I returned home after that trip I was sad because I thought I'd never be back and I might never have Blue Pan again or get to see a show in Red Rocks again. Last week I was lucky enough to return to Denver to again see a show at Red Rocks but I swear I was more excited to go back to Blue Pan. It was literally my first stop when I got into town. I said it before in my review of the other Blue Pan across town but it's quite literally the best pizza I've ever had. My daughter was with me this trip and she's not a fan of thicker pizzas. She ended up eating two pieces herself. You need to go try this place it is just too good to pass up. Now I have to come up with another reason to visit Denver because I don't want this to be the last time I've had Blue Pan pizza.

Do you ever come into a place that is most likely awesome but it's just having a bad day?…read more I think that was my experience here, which is a bit of a drag since I'll probably never make it back (I live in California which is a bit of a trek) The bad - slow service, attitude from the waitress when we asked for an update on our food, wrong orders and a ton of flies buzzing around. The good - the pizza was really freaking good. Tried both the Parma Italiana and Diavola and both were outstanding (and I don't typically enjoy Detroit style thick pizza). The place has a cool ambiance, good music and plenty of beverage options. So yeah I'm gonna guess I just came here on the wrong day.

FRI-YAY FIELD REPORT:…read more Alright you beautiful chaos goblins, it's Friday night and I found myself back at Randi's. You know the place, strip mall chic, nothing fancy, the kind of spot where you show up in whatever you wore to Target and nobody blinks. I've been here before, and honestly the experience has always been a bit of a roulette wheel: sometimes great, sometimes just ....meh. Tonight? Buckle up First, the service. I'm not asking for Broadway jazz hands and a standing ovation when I walk in, but a hint of pleasantness would be nice. My server looked like smiling might actually cause structural damage to her face. Honey, that scowl was so deep it came with its own zip code. Those cause wrinkles, sweetie. Just saying. While I waited (and waited... and waited...) I was treated to a lovely soundtrack of staff conversations about doom, gloom, and existential dread. Babe... I'm just trying to order carbs, not prepare for the apocalypse It was not exactly the light Friday night vibe I was going for while trying to order a drink. BTW It took a solid stretch of time just to get that drink and put in an order. I kept checking my watch like I was waiting for a delayed flight. Eventually, we got the drink and the order placed. The food shows up and let's give the kitchen the applause it deserves because the food crew clearly came to work tonight. Actually good. Not "call the Vatican we've witnessed a miracle" good, but solid. The antipasto salad was fresh and yes they included peppers, which I appreciate because some places act like peppers are a controlled substance. And the calzone? The bread was homemade. And listen... when you bite into bread that clearly came from a real human effort and not a Sysco freezer tomb, you notice. It was warm, chewy, and legitimately good. So now I'm emotionally conflicted. The kitchen is back there doing honest Italian-food work while the front of house is acting like they're being forced to serve pasta at emotional gunpoint. The Breakdown: Calzone bread: Homemade, heroic, deserves a medal Antipasto: Fresh, crunchy, pepper-inclusive (we love representation) Food overall: Solidly good Service: If enthusiasm were calories this would be a diet plate Randi's, my chaotic carb dealer, I will probably return because that bread had my attention. But next time maybe let the staff know it's okay to experience joy.
