As a Colorado native born and raised my family couldn't believe I had never tried this place. I'm 41 and I've been all over the place! So I was just excited after hearing some stories about the food. We showed up a group of 4. I'll say right now the food is Excellent! We got a calzone and 3 pizzas, a glass of wine and beers for the guys. Unfortunately the service was slow and really just unacceptable. Our server Danielle was nice at first taking our orders. It took forever to get us our drinks. After we got our drinks she disappeared. After 32 min of waiting we decided to put our empty drink glasses on an empty table to see if anyone cared. It didn't work. We waited and waited and finally she came back with our food and we were able to get refills. We definitely enjoyed the food! After we were done eating we got to play the waiting game again. 15 minutes go by and we had to go ask one of the guys standing by the entrance for to go boxes and our waitress. He said she was wandering around in back somewhere and he would find her. 17 more minutes go by and we'd had enough. We went to the front to tell the guys that we need to pay and go. 2 of us needed to get back to work. We arrived at 11:50 am and left at 1:17 pm because of the ridiculously terrible service. A great eating experience ruined by some of the slowest service I've had in a long time. Very disappointing, and I will not be back even though the pizza is great. Sad face. read more

It's always a treat to get great service and be in the company of friends and family too. Came here right when the buffet ended on a Friday. It was pretty empty inside. The staff was extremely friendly. We had the Pacific Pizza with wheat crust. A great alternative for a healthier meal, this was delicious and loaded with toppings. After awhile, they were going to throw away all the pizza in the buffet so they offered it to us. They also claimed that their pizza was better than the Idaho Springs location since they do less volume and can take more time with each pie. I'll try a calzone next time! read more

I quite enjoyed my experience at Beau Jo's. My friend had been talking about this place for a while, and we finally found some time to go there. There wasn't much of a wait there, as the place was huge! We were seated and attended to quite quickly. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive (we never had empty water glasses!), and the food was great! We ordered the Hipster pizza on wheat dough. I really appreciated that we could choose the type of dough. A unique thing about this place is that the crust of the pizza is thick and sweet (or supposed to be, although I didn't find it too sweet which was perfectly fine for me) and supposed to be eaten with honey. Our family loves it here. I used to go to bea jo's many, many years ago in high school. And I was so excited when I moved back here 15 years later to find out bea jo's is still around. Of course I'll always have an attachment to the one in Idaho Springs, yet this one is just as delicious. We had a hard time deciding how much to order for the 5 of us but we've got it down now. We're totally in love with the thick style pizza. Dip the crust in their honey & I'm in heaven. Their all you can eat salad bar is a favorite among the kids (and adults). The veggies are fresh & good. We ordered chicken wings for the first time, I don't care for hot wings but the 2 in our group that do devoured them. Used to love this place. The last few times I've been in, it's been a bit disappointing. Went in for lunch yesterday (Saturday) ready for some wings, pizza, salad and beer... I was excited to see there were several gluten free beer choices on the menu. Decided to try the New Belgian Glutiny and was told they didn't have it. Tried to order the Omission, but they didn't have that either. Then the server told me, they haven't had gluten free beer in a while. After asking why it was on the menu, I was told (very unapologetically) that they really don't carry GF beer anymore. No further explanation was given.. just a blank stare. Then, after deciding to get some wings and salad bar, was told (again, unapologetically) they were not doing a salad bar today. No salad bar... on a Saturday at 12:30 pm? At this point I started to lose interest in spending my money at this establishment. After sitting at our table for another 10 minutes trying to salvage the 30 minute drive we made to eat here... we decided our money would be better spent at a restaurant that actually had the items listed on their menu and a server that actually seemed to care that we chose to eat at their restaurant. After deciding, sadly, that this place was no longer the place we had come to love, we got up and left. I was referred to this place by one of my clients whom also lives in Tulsa. Since I was passing through he said, "You HAVE to try BeauJos!". We did and it was great! The pepperoni was perfectly crusted around the edges and the The Mountain Pie crust was amazing as a dessert with added honey. I had a local beer although I don't recall the name, however it was great! The server we had was very nice and personable; which completed the whole experience. Can't wait to return! read more

Beau Jo's is simply amazing. Every time I eat there is reminds me of being a kid again, and it is great to now take my kids here. The Mountain Pie are amazing. I personally think the traditional crust is way better. I personally like my crust with just a little pizza sauce on it, then I smother it in honey. Another tip, on several occasions we have skipped hours long wait for Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs and just went to the Arvada location. I really liked the pizza here! We ordered the new don pizza and our friends created their own mountain pie. They give you honey to put on the crust, I thought that was a great idea. The cheese baked on top meshed everything together so it made it difficult to get a clean bite. Got fed up half way and used utensils. The pizza overall was good though. We also got the cheesy garlic bread. For the price I was expecting more, we only got a few little pieces. It was good but the portion for price ratio was disappointing. We started coming to this Beau Jo's location after the one on Colorado & Yale closed down. We still thought it was really good, but approximately one start less good than the now obsolete Colorado & Yale location. The one star reduction is due (1) the menus are sticky and impossible to open (2) the pizza tastes slightly less hot/fresh and (3) the service is slightly less attentive and kind of awkward. Overall, I would keep coming here but just know that I have seen "Beau Jo's" done better. read more

We visited with some family that were in town. I'll admit that when I think of Denver's foodie scene, Beau Jo's is the last place I want to go, but they're the typical suburban family so we figured we'd give it a shot. Sundays are crazy busy at this location, but the $3 blood mary's make up for lost time. On to the meal...The salad bar is pretty jinky & sub-par so I'd give a 1.5. It's your standard iceberg lettuce and garden salad staples (tomatoes, green peppers, ranch, you know the drill). On to the apps - we had the wings. Another decent option. I'd go with the buffalo sauce if you know what's good for ya. And lastly, the main course - Pizza! That's what everyone comes here for, right? We went all out, mountain style. The dough is tasty, but make sure you finish it off with honey (that seems to add all of the flavor). For being as busy as they were, the service was decent. We were seated in about 15-20 minutes, although we probably would've been seated quicker if the hostess had taken our information when we first walked in instead of assuming we'd get a table right away. Not sure I'd go back on my own accord, but if family were in town I'd take them again. read more

Not rating the quality of the food here, but the value. Be warned, the 10.50 1lb pie is tiny. It's basically a personal pizza. By the time you add toppings it's at least $15. We have been long-time diners with Beau Jo's in both Arvada and Idaho Springs and have enjoyed both the prairie pie and the mountain pie. Our last two pies at the Arvada location have left us considering other pizza options. The prairie pie crust, hand-tossed with a rolled crust that was for many years chewy and delicious, tasted more like an overcooked thin crust. The toppings were also disappointing, as we hunted to see if there were actually mushrooms and green peppers on the pizza. We left last night saying that we have had better frozen pizza. I'm sad to admit that we will likely not return, since Beau Jo's has been a go-to place for us for many years. read more

Pizza was below average and the "Caesar salad" was literally lettuce with ripped up rotisserie chicken and Caesar dressing.

I recommend giving the the Cranberry Walnut Salad a try (we ordered the large, leaving plenty for leftovers). We kept it simple, pairing the salad with a personal Pepperoni which was delicious, highlighted by the light and tasty crust. Varied craft brew selection and the chardonnay was properly chilled. 20+ years ago I tried Beau Jo's pizza, both the mountain and prairie pies(thick and thin crust respectively). Both types are DELICIOUS. They still give you honey for the crust edges of the mountain pies which provides a built in desert. The white and wheat crusts can hardly be beat. Flavorful cheese and the other toppings just hit your taste buds like a Rocky Balboa comeback flurry of punches. The outdoor patio at the Arvada location is huge and an excellent setting pre- or during this pandemic. I look forward to visiting the original store in Idaho Springs. read more

I love their non-traditional cobbler! Their calzones are very tasty, too. My main complaint is that when ordering through food delivery app, it FORCES you to pick 3 different cheeses for the calzones (which I think must be an unintended error since the instructions say "choose up to 3"). I never really want 3 different kinds of cheese but it's worth it. Tasty, easy, and reasonably priced -- what more could I ask for? read more

We ordered online for a pizza.. We ended up with a 3 pound mountain pie.. With 4 toppings.. stupid me was thinking it was going to be bigger then it was.. it's slightly bigger then a small pizza anywhere else.. and it is mostly crust.. Pizza was cold when it arrived.. Took over an hour to get delivered. We spent a little over 50.00 dollars on this pizza.. I called the restaurant to talk to the manager.. I was very nice.. told him we usually love their pizza.. but I was really disappointed on how much this cost.. He basically told me he didn't care.. and that he wasn't going to remedy the situation.
