This company does not follow-up on items that need to be addressed. Michael has had more than enough time to fix uneven floor boards (the flooring was put in during the late spring of 2025). I reached out to him multiple times about this issue. The project took way longer than expected and the subcontractor was consistently late in getting started. One critical day in particular, he didn't show up until noon, thus running into the workday end time that my condo association requires. I sensed that the subcontractor had other priorities at times. Michael also did not offer to take away the excess floor underlayment and the unusable floor boards. On the positive side, Michael was able to secure an underlayment with a less popular thickness, which involved extra time and coordination. One of the installers did a fabulous job with my stairs. And the floor does look beautiful. I was able to go to the warehouse and get extra samples to ensure that it was a good match for my place. That was a big help. Michael also did help me get a payment from a moving company that slightly damaged my floor. There are flooring companies whose installers are employees. I would go with one of those companies next time. I had a fabulous experience working with Brothers Home Improvement on new windows. The employees there are like family, and the company is still standing by its windows, 18 years later. read more

If you're reading this and looking for new flooring, I STRONGLY SUGGEST MICHAEL at BEAU MONDE FINE FLOORS. Seriously. I cannot stress this enough. They installed my new flooring and it is FANTASTIC! I had been shopping around for either LVP or laminate flooring. I had visited a number of flooring installers, and Michael was by far the standout. Right from the start, I could tell that Michael was different than the other 5-6 places I visited. He took the time to sit down with me and talk about the different types of flooring, and why he's determined that the SPC (a specific type of LVP) is the best. So much so that it's the only type of hard flooring he installs (besides some carpeting). He took the time to answer all my questions, and I never felt rushed or that I wasn't a priority for him. I found other sales people either weren't as knowledgeable to didn't care as much, but I could tell Michael really enjoyed what he does. He began his career as an installer, and is now the owner of Beau Monde - so he's seen it all. That evening I researched SPC and really liked what I found. Of course, I had more questions, so went back to the store several times. Each time I was greeted with the smile and Michael patiently answered all my questions and made sure his answers were sufficient and I was informed - if he had to look into something, he was happy to do so. Michael even drove to my place, took measurements, and created a layout of the entire property to scale - all the floors and stairs. He used this for a detailed plan of the installation, plank pattern, and stairs. No other installer does this, and shows the attention to detail that he brings to any flooring project. Michael's team (Fernando, Francisco, Tony, Alex) were all easy to work with during the installation process - they installed both the flooring, and the baseboards afterwards. They worked fast and I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work. If we ever encountered an issue, they were never pushy and instead, were easy to talk to and great to collaborate with to determine the best course of action. In fact, we found that one area of my subfloor unfortunately had some pretty significant squeaks prior to installing the SPC. I needed them to hold off on the installation so I can take care of this (which took ~5 days to add more joist supports), and they never once complained or hurried me along so they could finish the job. They understood the importance of fixing this prior to installing their flooring so the job was done right. Their quality is top-notch as well - the stair treads lengths were cut with precision and they fit perfect next to the wall and all the boards are placed well. And the baseboards look absolutely fantastic - the fit is perfect!! And at the end of each day, they did a great job of cleaning up everything and really took care of my place- much better than many other contractors I've had working on the place. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the work done by Michael and his team at Beau Monde Fine Floors. I am so, so, SO happy that I chose to have them install my new flooring. If you're looking for new flooring, I'd strongly suggest you at least swing by Beau Monde flooring and meet Michael - he's a great, honest, fair person and I would definitely trust with a flooring install. Michael and his crew did a wonderful job with our second-floor upgrade as well as a challenging stair installation. Michael always makes sure enough time and details are provided to give his clients honest explanations of the pros and cons of different installation options. The floor materials we choose had some design elements that I found undesirable. He went extra miles to contact the owner of the product provider (Gaia Floors) to get some special tapes for the transition from the second floor to the first step of the stairs and proposed a custom solution to my concerns. It took him many phone calls to get the special tape shipped, but it made a huge difference in the final result --- the second-floor transitions into stairs seamlessly without the distraction of any extra transition strips, and the edge of the second floor is uniform along with the rest of the stair noses. Everyone who saw the final product was impressed. Our house is over 30 years old and had some wrapped subfloors due to water damage from previous ownership. Michael and his team did a great job correcting the issue in a professional matter without costing us an arm and leg. I would recommend anyone to Michael. I tried so many ways to have this place give me an estimate on replacing our hardwood floors. They came up with every excuse possible to NOT give us an estimate for a new floor. We have hardwood floors that were damaged by a flood and needed replacing. They said they don't do real hardwood floors anymore only I guess engineered hardwood floors which are 100% waterproof! Sounds perfect since our floor was damaged by water, but no. He still has no interest in the job. He wouldn't schedule an estimator to come look at the job. He wanted me to bring in or send in the measurements??? From our two other estimates this is a $50k plus job. Must be nice to have a company and be able to turn down good money making jobs. Blows my mind. If this guy is not the owner then I'm sure the owner would fire this guy. If he is the owner then again it must be nice to be able to turn down good money jobs. He worked with us on on the process from beginning through installation. We are very pleased with both wool carpet and flooring. Michael pays attention to detail throughout. He removed the old flooring trim wood prior to painting for cleaner finish, and helped our contractor set the new fireplace hearth to the height that would match the new plank flooring when done afterwards. I discovered Beau Monde Flooring when I was researching a new type of flooring for my kitchen, foyer, and adjacent powder room. The current ceramic tile flooring had nasty looking grout and was way too much trouble to clean and was cold and hard to walk on (or kneel on). I was getting nowhere until I was referred to Michael by my previous flooring company. Michael showed me a new (to me) type of flooring called Amtico. What an incredible product! Any type of look is available in this next generation vinyl product. Stone, wood, or a great variety of abstract patterns in plank or tile shapes with an endless choice of borders, inlays, stripping, etc. I choose the Marcasite 18" square abstract with a red tone 1/8" stripping in Amtico where the grout would be in a tile floor. It looks fantastic in my new kitchen with crimson stained cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances and Whitney pattern Cambria quartz counters. Oh, and did I mention that it is durable as all get out, super easy to clean, and easy to walk (and kneel on)? Michael is wonderful to work with, a true professional and a top rate designer. Anything you can dream of Michael can deliver. Installation was excellent with a very experienced Amtico installer. I liked the Amtico so much that I had it installed in my second floor laundry room and guest bedroom. I used the same Marcasite pattern with a light silver stripping in the laundry room and a teal blue stripping in the guest bedroom. Same tile but completely different looks due to the amazing chameleon like quality of the Marcasite pattern and the different stripping. This product can easily be used in every room of the house. The funny thing is Michael doesn't try to sell you - but he does educate you. He was very helpful and patient with me as I visited the store several times working through the selection process. He made suggestions based on my budget and spent a lot of time with me to make sure I was happy with my final selection. I've completed two project over the years with Michael. My Amtico floor which was installed over 10 years ago in a rental unit, looks almost new with really no wear. It's been amazing! This past November (2018) Michael helped me with an order for wool carpet and a click flooring. I've been super happy with both so far. We had our home remodeled last fall and a part of it was the installation of new carpeting. We had always had nylon carpets in the past, and while they were okay, they just don't last. Michael turned us on to wool carpets and ... what a difference! (Check back in 20 years or more and we'll let you know how they are wearing.) The selection may be a bit wider at some of the larger outlets, but after shopping around it was clear that Michael knew what he was doing. He was very helpful in picking the carpet that was just right for us. I was pleasantly surprised that the price was not as high as I thought. While wool may cost quite a bit more per yard, by the time it's installed the differential is not as bad as I expected. (It costs the same to install wool as it does nylon.) Had I to do it over again, I would pick just what Beau Monde installed. No regrets at all. The installers were fast and very professional. I was warned (by our painter) that "the carpet guys always beat up the walls and baseboards." But not this time. I had a hard time finding any nits to pick ... and certainly no complaints. (That painter needs to work with Beau Monde more so he can see what "the good guys" do.) I recommend Beau Monde very highly. read more

This is our second time using Beau Monde Fine Floors. Around 2000 we opted for wall to wall carpeting for our modest 2 story North Beach condo. This time, October of 2016, we opted to go with an alternative to hard wood floors... Luxury Vinyl Tile. Michael at Beau Monde was a terrific reference for both jobs. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about all available products, but he and the people he chooses to work with are craftsman.
