Split "the Elvis" with my daughter - yummy waffle with peanut butter and banana. The only thing that would have been better is if we had added bacon. When we mentioned to the server we were informed we could order the "off menu FAT Elvis" next time with bacon cooked inside the waffle. We'll be back to check this out. read more

Waffle is good, coffee is excellent. Space seems tight but very cozy. However, don't recommend to order scramble egg in Waffle Meal. I think they cook those in microwave. I guess they also cook bacon in microwave too but bacon does not taste that bad. I'd still like to try gluten free version of waffle (of corn meal) next time but microwaved eggs made me sad. Also they have great intention to donate feminine products but not sure you want to sit next to the wall of Tampax packages. Sorry I guess I'm too sensitive. read more

Food is pretty good, place is kinda fun but staff needs to stop being so snooty and provide better customer service. I almost threw up today sitting at the bar watching the guy prepping food with a full beard and no hat. He kept wiping his nose with his hands and continued prepping food then he was pulling up his pants and boxers without hand washing! Kinda gross! Very trendy and hip location with nice friendly staff. I order bacon waffle, daughter ordered granola & fruit while the wife ordered egg & bacon sandwich between potato waffle. Location was busy so expected a longer wait; even after seeing a couple that ordered after us get there food. When the food came, waffles were cold and the bacon egg with potato waffle was completely wrong. Really was excited to try this place but don't think I will rush back. This is place is corny. I ordered a simple smoothie, I believe it had 3 ingredients, apparently the "signature". Barista seemed more interested in listening to gossip than making my drink. It finally came to me as 3/4 of a drink. I look confused and asked if the drink typically comes as a short. She shrugged and said "sometimes it comes under" What?! And I tipped them well over. Wow. Great selection of fun waffle creations. The coffee is great too. I love the lemon curd. Some recipes are a bit sweet even for kids- like the fruity people's with whip cream. But The waffle sandwiches are super gene rouse with ham that melts in your mouth. Fun atmosphere but could be cleaner and make sure you aren't in a hurry to get to work because waffle perfection takes time. Seating can also be limited. read more

Sad. Sparse, painful seating, limited menu and a staff that has no clue how to work in the service industry. The coffee was decent, which is rare. The breakfast sandwich was ok, but served on a little bitty plate with pickled carrots (wtf) on the side. If you want a full and proper breakfast, and not just a snack, then look elsewhere than here. This is a great little place. The service is friendly and the atmosphere has a whimsical style to it. I went in during when there lunch menu was up and tried the turkey with cranberry sandwich which was served on croissant bread. It was delicious! The turkey meat did not taste like any ordinary one you will get at a deli. It really tastes soft and tender. Similar to how it does on thanksgiving fresh out of the oven. I do no like dry meat and tend to go for dark meats. I don't think this was dark however it maintained the softness and moisture of one. Also the cranberry sauce on the bottom added a nice sweet tangy-ness to the flavor. The mocha was great as well and the barista even offered to add more mocha to it if it was not enough. I would have liked worked on my laptop here however their wireless was down. But other than that I definitely recommend! read more

I LOVE this place! They've created a really great neighborhood vibe. The coffee drinks are great (including their Nutella latte) and I'm really impressed by their breakfast offerings. They have a breakfast salad, which is arugula and lots of yummy things on top with one egg over quinoa. Unexpected, healthy, and really tasty! The decor is really cute - thoughtful and every detail attended to. Just tried their waffles that they serve on the weekends - so good! I'm not a big waffle fan, but I am of theirs! Such an amazing place! I'll just go on about a few things that i love, the staff is so nice and sweet! They always make me and my toddler feel welcome and there are chalkboard tables and kids books to keep them busy while you wait for the awesome waffles you will hopefully order!! If your not feeling breakfast perhaps a delicious sandwich and a local beer is more your style! Upon writing this review I've popped by this neighborhood spot 4 notable times. The first couple were just for coffee or chai tea. I decided to write a review today as I can see they've updated their decor and menu since my last drop in. What caught my eye as I was driving by this last week was a big sign that said waffles. That does it for me. You make waffles, I show up. So my kiddo and I decided to have a Thursday morning waffle party. The decor is adorbs. They really have the retro vibe down pat. We got a table by the window that happened to be a chalkboard table so that was a point from my kiddo (that being said, then you get your food and eat and chalk was all over our arms/sleeves). I ordered the bacon waffle and the kiddo had the rainbow waffle. The bacon waffle comes with bacon chunks cooked in and a couple small pieces on top. It tasted great albeit not a ton of bacon for a bacon waffle. Rainbow waffle bakes in Trix cereal (seriously, where do they come up with this?? This is the item that sealed the deal we'd have to come try it!) and whipped cream, bananas, and fruit compote topping. My toddler was delighted and I was happy about the amount of bananas on the plate. Overall I thought it tasted like Trix and waffles which is... Fine? I guess? Do we want this?im still not sure. I didn't care for the purple fruit topping. I also had a chai tea which arrived promptly albeit tepid. I do like that they make their own chai in house (I think that's right). Overall, we'd like to try the other waffles and sandwiches on the menu and the ambiance is nice enough for the trek up the hill for us. read more

I want to like this cafe as its close to my house but I will walk the extra steps to freshy's. Each visit to admiral has resulted in staff appearing confused. You can order your coffee and a muffin and the muffin is long gone before the coffee is ready. At Freshys if you have to wait for your coffee the staff will carry over to your table. read more
