The hive removed from the underside of the shed floor
    Jess L.

I sent Marco a text after having issues with bees living under my shed and he was able to come out THAT evening to check them out. He took a look around, gave me an estimate, and said it would be a few days given their location and the amount of work until he could get me on the schedule. I received an email quote the next day to approve and was sent follow up information on date and time of arrival of the project. I loved the additional information and knowing the bees are actually being relocated and not killed. The floor in my shed had to be cut out to get to the hive and it was all cleaned and replaced. It's hard to tell that there was even a hole. He even sent me a video so I could see what it looked like under my shed. The bee box was set up out of the way and Marco came back after sunset to pick it back up. I highly recommend this company and as much as I hope to never have to call them again - they will BEE my first choice.

The instructor was easy to follow and clearly very knowledgeable about beekeeping. You can tell she has a deep understanding of the subject and a real passion for teaching it. The class was very informative but also easy to understand, even for complete beginners. There were people of all ages there--even kids--and everyone seemed engaged and able to follow along. The class was held at her home, which made for a very comfortable and welcoming classroom environment. She also had a great amount of personal learning materials and examples that really helped bring the information to life. I honestly can't say enough good things about the experience. She clearly has built a strong following over the years, and after attending the class it's easy to see why. She's friendly, helpful, and a true wealth of information. If you're interested in learning about beekeeping, I highly recommend taking one of her classes.

The workers are always super friendly and they really capture the Hawaiian vibe with the decor of the cafe. They serve a large assortment of coffees, Frappuccinos, Smoothies, etc as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They also have Açaí bowls which I haven't tried yet but my friends told me they were very good. I'm also dying to try their crepes one of these days! My usual go-to is the Iced Vanilla Chai Latte and when I'm hungry, I get the egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant roll. I've also had their toasted sesame bagels with cream cheese and their avocado toast. I would 100% recommend Lani Coffee (and I haven't even mentioned their Hawaiian Kona coffee which is delish! (It's also pet friendly if you want to enjoy your coffee at one of their outside patio tables)

There's a restroom, plenty of seating, and a good selection of pastries and a few sandwiches. It does get a bit cold inside, though. I had the coconut latte -- it tasted great but was a little too sweet for me. I'd recommend asking for less syrup if you don't like overly sweet drinks. Overall, a comfortable place to sit and enjoy coffee.

08.08.26 In town for a work conference next week, and…read morestaying at a nearby hotel. Arrived early from Sac so after checking in, I needed breakfast. Hotel receptionist recommended Swami's, saying "they've got everything". So, after confirming rating, menu, and seating via Yelp, I decided to give it a whirl. Only a couple blocks walk, easy-peasy. Located near light rail, it was a cute, unassuming spot with a few patio tables for al fresco dining. I walked in and read the sign that for dining in to grab a menu and a seat and order will be taken at the table. Great! Knew they had a specialty menu and a regular menu, I grabbed both and found a nice 4-seater by the window. I love a nice view with my meal, especially when solo. Almost immediately I was tended to by my server, asking if I've been in before. Told her "no" and she proceeded to let me know there was a self-serve coffee bar in the corner by the fountain drinks and if I wanted a 'specialty' type drink they would prepare it. Then offered to start me with water. Right off the bat, I appreciated the efficient way of greeting a patron. Looking over the menu more closely, it was hard to decide. Do I go with one of their many amazing benedict options--my typical go-to for an enjoyable breakfast? Or my good ol' standby and basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, hashed browns & toast? The benes I was eyeballing were their specialties avocado Florentine and the Swami's Waffle bene--a twist I've not seen before. With it having their namesake, it'd have to be good, right? My server came back with my water saw I needed a few more minutes. I was also wondering how much adding bacon to a dish would be since it wasn't listed anywhere on the menus, and I was considering that for the Florentine. But then there also was another breakfast favorite of mine, Chilaquiles. Too many great choices! My server came back for my order and I had to ask about the most popular dishes. She started rambling off omelets, but I'm not a big omelet girl. She then suggested the Chilaquiles, said she really like the El Paso bene (another I eyeballed), then I told her that I'm just in the mood for my basic breakfast and didn't see anything that quite fit the bill. She pointed out the Swami's Combo, but choice of side would've only been either hashed or bacon and I'd have to add the other BUT it came with coffee included (normally $4). I wanted to try the coffee, as the selection variety was intriguing. She then brought up an 'off-the-menu' item, the Big Breakfast. It basically had everything I wanted but coffee would be extra. I asked how it compared to the Swami's Combo and added stuff I wanted price-wise, and she said it's pretty much equal. So, I just went with the Big Breakfast cuz, gotta love those off-the-menu orders, right? She said it came with bacon and ham but I could get all bacon if I wanted at an extra $1 charge. Not a ham fan, I went with it. Ordered eggs runny yolk and cooked white--whatever they think that is LOL and chose english muffin option. Asked for my bacon & hash browns extra crispy. While I waited for my order, a hostesses ask me if I was eating alone and politely asked if I would move to another table to accommodate a party that arrived. I explained that I really wanted a window seat and with that, she said "No worries at all". I heard her explain to the party that it would be a little wait. THAT was quite amazing and I honestly appreciated her acceptance of my decline. I then took time to check out the restaurant. Noticed the kitchen was busy but running like a well-oiled machine. Patrons were a plenty, a constant busy, with several waiting for seating by the time I left around 10:30a on a Saturday. There were a few TVs with the vibe feeling very, diner-ish. I also noticed that it was a bit, stuffy inside, and was thankful I had my portable fan to keep me cool at my table the entire time. Surprisingly, the food came out quick and it looked fantastic! Runner asked if I needed anything else, and after a quick glance at the table condiments, I said with a smile it's already covered. I asked him later for a few extra napkins and he was appy to bring some. I tell you, the service here is super friendly and great! It matched with the meal, food was sooo good! Perfectly cooked, bacon was thick, PERFECT! Oh!! It also came with salsa that tasted homemade--and confirmed is made in-house! I could tell and would have NO issue eating with chips. Guys, if you're in the area and looking for great, friendly service with amazing food, give Swami's a shot. I would no doubt return!!

**July 2026: Sunday Afternoon Visit**…read more After an amazing (but exhausting) weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, my body was seriously craving something refreshing and nutritious. I had walked past Vitality Tap several times since it's conveniently located near my hotel, and on my last day I finally decided to stop in and I'm so glad I did. The space is a cool mix of a vitamin/supplement shop and a health focused drink and café spot. For a Sunday afternoon, it was surprisingly busy, with staff hustling to make drinks and açaí bowls. Despite the crowd, everything looked well-organized, and all the customers seemed genuinely happy with their orders. I ordered "The Dragon," which had pitaya, coconut water, pineapple, and strawberries. It was incredibly refreshing, which was exactly what I needed after hours of walking in the heat. Light, hydrating, and flavorful without being overly sweet. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area to try their açaí bowls and juices. Great spot for a post adventure reset.
