So good! People there were super helpful and fun to talk to! The dog was a great plus and I enjoyed all of the samples!

Spend your entire Vacation Here…read more Stopped in after church Sunday. Were told inside seating was a 45 minute wait but deck seating was available immediately. Took seat on deck outside. Website said breakfast all day. Ordered coffee and orange juice. When drinks arrived and we tried to order breakfast we were told it was too late.(?) Put in order for sandwiches. Thirty minutes later waitress informed us Lincoln chicken salad sandwich wasn't available. From the time we sat on the deck until our sandwiches arrived so they have was a full hour. No joke. I won't be back. Have better things to do than wait on food all day.

If you want a local spot with heart and the best homemade pie in the world, stop here. Whatever you order, get the potato salad on the side. Trust me on this! And for the love of all that is holy, get a piece of pie. It might be the best coconut cream pie I've ever had. Our server (was her name Jenny? Maybe?) was incredible and was literally running circles around everyone else working. For real. I assumed she was the owner, but I asked, and she wasn't. I hope they appreciate her because I'm pretty sure she could run the world! What are you waiting for? Go get the pie!!!

We had a ground of 15 so we reserved a table. We came around 4:430pm and they gave us a beeper…read more When our group was all here at 5pm, we were seated promptly with a table prepared. It was already completely filled in the bar with wait times until 6:30pm at that point. Come early or reserve if you have a big group! There are two dinner options for adults - bacon wrapped steak and a German noodles dish. The bacon wrapped steak was great and also came with a wedge salad. The prices were incredible at about $20 per entree. It does have a strong bacon flavor so you have to be sure to enjoy that flavor. There was a hotdog option for kids and a vegetarian menu. The dessert menu was extension with more than 10 items. I had the napoleon and it was light, airy, and flaky. Everyone was happy with their desserts and the price was around $7 per item. Overall, it was a fun experience with decent food in this small town. I would come back and I recommend you try it!

Suckered in by all the touristy advertising. If you want to get in with the first seating be there…read moreat least an hour before opening, check in and sit on the porch. Or just come when you want and hope to get in with only an hour wait. Regardless of some of the advertising there is nothing German about the place except the name. I'm from Chicago where we have a long history of real German food. But nobody comes for that anyway because the menu had like 3 things. 2 sizes of filet mignon which they promote being the cheapest which they are or pasta primavera which was a huge serving and looked decent. Should've opted for the larger one but as we age we just aren't eating that much. The meat was dry and overcooked, Easily the worst filet mignon either of us has ever had. The waitress was not rude though not welcoming or friendly but mostly just slow, both mentally and physically. Something about the area in general is they don't offer much if anything in the way of vegetables with meals. A problem for some health issues. Here we saw a couple order the pasta with 2 steaks and picked the veggies out of it. On the whole a very disappointing experience to end an otherwise wonderful trip.

The experience from beginning to finish was as follows…read more.. We enter, unsure whether to seat ourselves, and are asked, albeit almost silently, to pick a table of our liking. And upon choosing a table, we were given menus by our server, who didn't have a name tag, so I couldn't reference her specifically, and asked to select a drink. After getting water, we eagerly wait for 15-ish minutes for our waitress to take our order. After placing our order of two burgers, nothing special, we waited patiently for our food. Keep in mind, we arrived at 8:10, 50 minutes before closing. We then waited 30 minutes for our burgers, only getting a light apology after 25. Upon receiving our food, we were FAMISHED, and it tasted good! But I think practically everything tastes good when you're hungry, am I right?!? After GOBBLING our burgers down, we received the check at approximately 9:05, and the waitress was eagerly looking at the screen when we politely left a tip justifiable for the service. I'm one always to tip a server, even if the service isn't the best. At the end, we were sent off with an "okay" and nothing more. I'm not one to complain, but a thank-you would've been nice since we weren't rude to her about the insane wait time. Ultimately, be warned: when you come here, it's a cute place to take family when passing through, but not when you're on a time crunch. In short, the food is pretty good, somewhere between 6/7 out of 10, but the service was very subpar, leaving us with a sour taste in our mouths.

Came on a weekday for lunch. Service is average to slow and there were only a few people inside…read more Prices range from $12 lunch weekday specials to $15-25 for full entree items. I ordered the bison burger and an extra sweet potatoes fries. The food took a very long time for our group of 12. Probably about 20 minutes. We chose our own table and basically had to put our own chairs together as they did not offer any help in moving them besides acknowledging our party size. The bison burger was dry with a bit of crispy exterior texture on the patty that made it taste somewhat better. The bun was not special and although we asked for medium rare, it was more like medium to medium well done. The potato fries tasted good and were soft inside with a nice firm and slightly crunch outer casing. The sweet potato fries were limp and not very good unless you like them greasy, soft, and starchy. In hindsight, I would have just eaten the lunch special hamburger and fries. They also had a $5 upgrade to salad bar option.
