    If you want wine?

Very nice place to sample beer, hang out with friends and play video games. On two floors with taps on each floor. Larger set of taps on the first floor. About 25 different beers and hard cider on first floor and 10 different taps on second floor. The food is hit or miss. Everyone enjoyed the steak on a stick appetizer, they we're delicious. At $12.95 a bit pricey. The duck fat fried potatoes were tasty with a sprinkle of chives and shaved cheese. The pretzel bites were a bit doughy. My Stout Beef Stew was very tasty, the chunks of beef very tender but were overwhelmed by potatoes which were a bit undercooked. The service was very friendly but slow. Will go back to enjoy the beer selection but eat elsewhere.

As a craft beer enthusiast I was excited at what I heard about the Beer Wall. After visiting it's not somewhere I will return. The positives were the staff, they were great, friendly and very knowledgeable about the different beers. I wasn't a fan of the tight spaces and felt the price per ounce was a little too much. I visit a lot of breweries and can't remember a time I payed $10.00 plus for any draft. As far as the tight spaces, it was difficult to move around in the areas of the drafts especially making your way to the upstairs steps. If you're someone who is concerned about social distancing this is definitely not a place you will wanna visit.

The Beer Wall is an amazing concept. You pay by the ounce and can try all kinds of beer. I am not a beer drinker but have become fond our fruit beers. There's always at least 1 cider and seltzer too. The food is delicious. My favorite item is the tempura cauliflower. It is perfection. They serve it with 3 sauces: garlic soy, Thai peanut and Buffalo. The garlic soy is magical. I ask for only that sauce. They have 2 sizes, personal and shareable. They are hefty portions. The small is enough for 3 people. I ordered the large the first time and had plenty of leftovers that I popped in my air fryer at home. They also had mango mussels on their menu. They were delicious. They rotate the menu about every 4 months, can't wait for them to come back. Their cocktails are great too! This is a hidden gem in West Reading, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and drinks.

I was only in this area because wanted to visit the brewery across the street. Unfortunately due to Covid they were not open, but luck lead me here instead. This is such a wonderful concept for a bar! You get a beer card, linked to your tab, and can use it to pour yourself a beer whenever you're ready. No waiting and no huge queues at the bar! They have a ton of interesting craft beer on tap and to are free to pour yourself as much or as little as you like. Upstairs they've got free arcade games too. I love this place and wish it wasn't so far from me!

Been wanting to go here since moving back to the area and finally did. Loved how easy it was to try the different beers. Food was so good! We had the duck fat fries as an appetizer and they were so good!! Then for lunch we had the waffle hot chicken and the Cubano. Everything was delicious!! Can't wait to go back again soon

I was super excited to come here after my daughters cheer competition over at Santander Arena. We love exploring local places when she competes and this place sounded like it was right up my alley. But unfortunately the visit fell flat. Pros - Service was great. She was friendly, quick, and didn't seem to mind there were 3 kids. Free arcade games were fun. Food portions are large and the prices on the food are fantastic. Love the self-serve beer model. Parking! Cons - Beer selection was dismal, nothing you can't find at most bars and thought they would have a more eclectic selection. While the portions were great, most of the food on the menu wasn't available. With an already limited menu it made selecting food a challenge. Also their cocktail menu wasn't fully available either. Running out of sparkling wine during brunch is a big no-no. I would certainly pop in again and give it a try. We enjoy a day trip to Reading when the weather is nice and walking around downtown, but I was disappointed in the consistency, availability, and selection.

I have been hearing great reviews since this place came to West Reading. My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday to check it out. Parking wasn't too bad around 12. Upon entering, we chose a hi top near the bar. The two guys who were working were AWESOME! Super nice, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. If you have questions on beer, they had all the answers. The one guy explained in thorough detail on how to use the beer wall system. My husband and I each grabbed a beer, which poured perfectly. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites and hot chicken to start with. The portions were perfect since we were sharing. The cauliflower bites had just enough sauce on them, crispy, and flavorful. The hot chicken was AMAZING! I accidentally knocked my plate off the table, and the server was nice enough to get me another portion for myself. My husband and I then split the mini lobster rolls with duck fat fries. WOW! Sooo flavorful and delicious! The fries were thin cut and some of the best fries I've had in awhile. The beer selection was awesome. Food was eclectic and delicious. Service was some of the best around town. Overall, highly recommend. Nice to see something like this come to West Reading.

A really fun place to visit, and I love that they have vegan options on their menu and tasty food. The onboarding to using the beer wall is only mildly daunting, very achievable for the average bear. I was really happy to check this place out, would be a great spot to bring a group, or sitting solo at the bar was very chill!

We love Beer Wall! We were there during the Ice & Spice festival. I had a long day at work and Beer Wall fixed me right back. What a cool business model! You get a beer card that allows you to pour beer on your own. You get charged and need to be reloaded when the tap runs out. Food was phenomenal. It was as good as any fine dining out there.

As expected, the beer selection is stellar. I tried a few I'd never had before and it was great to pour as much or as little as I wanted. Place was packed! Seemed like the busiest place around. Pretzel bites were not that great. Mustard sauce had way too much horseradish. Our server brought us a Thai sauce and it actually was pretty good. I was already buzzed when I got there so I didn't get to partake as much as I wanted. Next time!

I am SO happy that this place opened. It's fun, hip, and really cute. There's no place in Reading like this, so it's a great new addition to the area. There's a great selection of beer on tap at affordable prices. It's such a fun experience putting your card in and pouring your own beer (kind of makes you feel like your own little bartender lol). There are multiple floors and the upstairs area has different games to keep you entertained. There are great food options to go along with the beer. I got the hot chicken tenders with honey drizzled, on a bed of toast. It was so good! I'll definitely be coming back!

My husband and I assessed Austin's differently. He ordered prime rib which he said was nothing short of perfect. Cooked medium rare as requested, tender, juicy -- he savored every bite. I scanned the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. (I generally don't gravitate to steakhouse-type restaurants.) I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs. My point of comparison is Longhorn's which offers more of a bang-for-a-buck, and in my opinion better tasting ribs. Not to say that Austin's aren't good. They are. Based on the popularity of Austin's, it's clear management knows what they're doing. But I think a small salad and baked potato should be available with the price of the entree -- not worth the extra $7 I was going to be charged. The salad is listed as 'field greens,' -- which it's not -- but reading the menu you'll see they mean iceberg and romaine. The salad was good, enhanced by their garlic ranch dressing. We washed down our meals with well-priced drinks: merlot ($8.90) and Blue Moon ($6.90), then splurged on dessert. Austin's flourless double chocolate brownie a la mode is very rich. One order for two adults is plenty. Austin's is aptly described as a family restaurant. A lot of kids. A lot of noise. Service is friendly and on-the-ball. While not my kind of restaurant, if prime rib is your thing -- this could be the place!

I mean I guess it wasn't that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime has passed in between. The bar that night was full of familiar faces. Groups of friends from both Wilson and Wyomissing neighborhoods had been unified with a common aspiration. After nearly two full days of agonizing rain delays, we were all about to witness the Phils bring the city of Philadelphia its first championship in 25 years (since 1983, before so many of us there that night were even born). This isn't Santino's of course, but it's impossible to separate those memories, which is probably the case for many of the folks still coming here who can remember fondly the mingling with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I'm glad this remained a restaurant and didn't turn into another spa or something. It's a bit harder to go to a spa and think hey I used to drink Jaegerbombs right over there by the koi pond and speaker playing soothing rainforest sounds. You can tell just by the sequence of naming conventions (from "Santino's" to "Tino's" to finally "State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen") the kind of vibe they're going for here. The "Tino's" era, though brief, proved that you could keep the neighborhood charm and just slightly ratchet up the presentation, especially in the food and bar departments. Over time the menu has shifted from fine-casual Italian to more upscale comfort food, with wagyu meatloaf, lobster mac & cheese, and the always elegant, always dashing meatloaf patty melt. State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen or whatever iteration of dining establishment will be there 15, 20 years from now (Luxe Carwash expansion perhaps) will bring together members of the community that wouldn't ever otherwise cross paths. New friendships will form, and old ones will strengthen. The atmosphere was electric that night in Santino's nearly 20 years ago. Everyone was elated, even people who didn't watch sports were happy because they could see other people were happy. For one night we could push everything else aside, the weight of responsibility and care lifted from our backs. A reminder that joy could be had, and our existences, though flawed, remained full of promise with even better days ahead. This is probably the least helpful review you've ever read LOL
