Do not hire. In 2023, the plumber gave a $1400 verbal bid to replace my recessed ice maker box behind the refrigerator, and when I rejected that, he immediately changed his bid to $700. Then I asked them to look at the hose spigot (bibb) which dripped when on, he proposed breaking into the drywall inside to replace the entire assembly. That's when I asked him to go and regretted paying a $100 for the visit. $2900 bid I said NO. Avoid.

Been almost a month since my last update. My kitchen is still torn apart. I've had several talks with Brendan from Bee's, who called and said he would be pro-actively monitoring this through to completion, except I've had to follow up repeatedly to advance this process. I've made numerous calls to employees from Total Restore who admit they don't understand why this has taken so long, except to point out it isn't their fault. Currently waiting approval for an estimate from ANOTHER company I've had to proactively get involved for the restoration. Not sure why I need to keep making calls to get this dealt with. Really starting to feel like it's my responsibility to keep hounding these guys to get this dealt with. This process has been a nightmare. They were quick to demolish my kitchen to deal with the water damage which I appreciated. Then they told me they are back logged by several months on the restoration and that I would need to hire another company for the restoration, which would be paid for. That third company submitted an estimate two and a half weeks ago with a stipulation that the cabinetry restore was 6 weeks out once getting payment. I've communicated this to both Bee's and Total Restore. I was told yesterday that a call would be made today to arrange payment. It wasn't. Just more of the same. The pro-active communication leaves much to be desired. I keep having to make calls after not hearing back for days. I think next time, I'll fix the drain clog myself. Any damage I would have caused would have been dealt with faster than this experience.

We had a sudden ruptured pipe in our 1904 home over the weekend. We called Bee's plumbing since my husband had them do some work for an elderly couple we know. Niko & Alejandro came out Monday for our job. The old galvanized pipe was corroded and about to give way & they replaced it with 30+ feet of PexA/Wirsbo pipe. They were at our house a day and a half, respectful of our floors (wore feet coverings), very personable & thorough. I trust the work they do.

Unfriendly and overpriced. Offered only one VERY expensive brand of faucet that I had to have. I'll look for another plumber next time.

When I signed with the management company, I didn't have any say over this and was not allowed to do any repairs myself. So I was stuck with oneill. First time they came out and installed a new Fluidmaster PRO45 "premium" fill valve, new lever (never seen a lever wear out in my life), and new stopper. That premium fill valve is a $20 part (retail) for which they sold to me for $28--whatever. $450 bucks for this visit. Two months later they came back out to adjust the float level, and charged me again. Uh, you should have correctly set the float level the first time. Even if you didn't, you coming back two months later and charging me again proves you value profit over relationships. If it were up to me, I would have never used them again. Fast forward to a little over 5 years later. That "premium" fill valve "failed" and they installed a new one, over $400. No f'ing way a premium fill valve should stop working anything short of 10 years if installed with half a brain in a regular use scenario. Korky makes a less expensive fill valve with a 10 year warranty. For that same $1,000 these clowns charged me over 5 years, they could have installed two brand new toilets over the same time period. Ridiculous.

It turned out (after a lot of self-experimentation) that it was from the toilet (most likely the feed that goes into the toilet bowl itself) -- since it was from the original condo build in 2003, and this was 2021, so... I guess toilets can stop working too? In any case, I had to scramble to get someone to fix it since I was afraid the leak would affect the floor beneath me (given how terribly this building was constructed, I wouldn't be surprised if the "between floor" spaces had issues). I bought my own toilet from Home Depot (thankfully they had some toilets, but I didn't get a water-saving one like I wanted because, despite the rebate, I don't actually pay for water in my building, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), and set out to find a plumber to install it. I tried to make sure I found a local business to support, so off I went! 1) VALUE FOR MONEY: 9/10. All things considered this turned out to be the cheapest option I had, since the other quote (Joe's 2 sons plumbing) was almost double what this one was. It came out to $523 (after tax) for labour and installation (of customer-provided toilet); the cost came out to be the same for either repair or replace ($375 for an onsite visit), but I needed to also change the angle stop for an extra $100 (labour inclusive). After tax, that seemed pretty reasonable, since I didn't know how to do this myself (Eero had mentioned it was pretty easy, but if it was my first time installing a toilet... maybe I should watch first). 2) QUALITY: 10/10. So far, no further leaks. I had a smarthome leak sensor near the toilet just in case, but I moved it elsewhere in the home as I realized these guys were legit, and I'm very happy with this off my back! 3) SERVICE: 10/10. The workmanship was solid - the most impressive thing I noticed was that I didn't need to move my over-toilet shelf to accommodate the plumbing work. He simply worked around it, and installed the toilet successfully! The plumber's name was "Eero" - he was no-nonsense, and even answered some other quick questions about my hot water heater that I had concerns about. The full turnaround was only six days, from "initial contact" to "work completed" (including a site visit to give me a free quote). I contacted them on September 3rd, and they completed the work on September 9, 2021. Jeremiah was responsive and explained everything in a very thorough and articulate manner (especially given my lack of understanding in the plumbing space).
