This is a cozy and chic restaurant! Parking is a bit limited on the lot but you can park on the street. The staff is friendly and interior is beautifully decorated. Started with a pomegranate margarita to drink. For entrees we got mixed shawarma and kofta kebab. Finished the meal with knafe. Pomegranate Margarita- The base is strong with a refreshing pomegranate flavor. It has just the right amount of sweetness with a hint of tartness. Mixed Shawarma- It comes with chicken and beef shawarma. Both are tender and flavorful. It comes with warm pita bread, fattoush salad, and garlic and tahini sauce. The salad offers a freshness that complements the rest of the items. The sauces are perfect on the meat. Kofta Kebab- You get ground beef kebab that is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Pairs well with basmati rice and fattoush salad. You get a tasty yoghurt sauce that ties the flavors together. Knefe- This is a delicious dessert that comes with gooey cheese on a shredded phyllo base that is nice and crunchy. Finished with a sweet honey and rosewater syrup and a sprinkle of crushes pistachios. Great experience overall!

Yalla Yalla you'll want to run over and check this place out. It is nice to have an authentic LEBANESE spot in the area! From food to decor my Lebanese GRANDMA was taken back to her roots. From the Thyme to Eat menu: I highly recommend the ZAATAR bread and CHEESE bread. I wasn't the biggest fan of the meat bread option but I think that comes down to preference. From the Bei menu: I loved the FATTOUSH salad which was beautifully presented. It was encased in a perfectly crisped piece of Arabic bread, which presented a break open concept for a fun surprising twist. I will be back with my grandma to try more from the menu!

Great food, service, and ambiance! We went with the tasting menu for a group of 4. The cold/hot mezze platters were delicious and the meats were great. Our server, George was very friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Came here with friends for a birthday celebration. We had a belly dancer and a DJ - playing music and dancing. They have small area for dancing. Service was really bad because we didn't get our drinks that we ordered and we didn't get water that we ordered. Many of us had to ask the servers for couple of times to bring the water and utensils to eat dinner. There were about 5 or 6 appetizers in small portions and we shared the plates of chicken kebabs, lamb kebabs, and beef kebabs. Rice came with the order. It was a family style dinner and we all shared the foods that we ordered. Appetizers included some salads and vegetables dishes and fried cheese sticks. Cocktail drinks were okay but pricey. Great place to hang out with friends with music, dancing, and hookah. It would have been a good rating if service was improved.

We came here for our Valentine's date on a Monday to avoid the crowd, and it was perfect. The setting is beautiful -- intimate lighting, roses on the table, and a great atmosphere. AJ took amazing care of us. He let us pick our seats, turned on the heater, and gave great recommendations from the hookah menu. We ordered the chicken shawarma and steak shawarma, and everything was high quality and absolutely delicious. The food does take a little time to come out, but it was 100% worth the wait. We also had the pomegranate margaritas -- beautiful presentation and amazing flavor (we ended up getting two). We cleaned every plate. Great service, great food, and an overall great experience. We'll definitely be back.

so good. lamb chops in the shared meat plate absolutely blown my mind away. i will be thinking about this restaurant and bringing all my friends and family! service was really nice and offered us more pita wraps and additional sauce. i really liked the garlic sauce as well. the fattoush salad was so fresh and paired well with the meat so it didn't feel too heavy. very upbeat place that's great for hangouts and there's a DJ right in front playing groovy house music. it was a unique and delicious restaurant that i will be coming back for sure

I booked a huge family dinner for Martin at Bei for his birthday -- I'd be wanting to take him here for forever because it's his favorite cuisine -- and I was so happy that it didn't disappoint! Everyone had such a great time! Loved the beautiful atmosphere -- feels very date nighty! Even with our large group, service was impeccable -- so friendly and attentive! And the food -- amazinggg! If you have a party over 6 (we were 18) they give you a select menu to choose from that guarantees you more than enough food for everyone. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was super flavorful and fresh. Standouts were the juicy chicken kebab and all the side dishes to dip the pita bread in like the spicy hummus, labneh, and kibbeh nayyeh. Definitely our new fav Mediterranean spot and the perfect place for a family get together or celebration. We'll be back soon!

Upon arrival there is a small amount of parking in the back. We had an early reservation at 530pm. They have a cute patio area intimate for a date or family dinner. Very cute vibe in here. They have alcoholic drinks and mocktails. They start off serving you pita chips with a sauce (idk what it was called). My friend loved it. We started with a hummus appetizer. The hummus tasted good and fresh. I wasn't a big fan of the pita, it had a whole wheat flavor to it. It wasn't bad, just not my preference. I ordered the strawberry crush mocktail IT Was SOO GOOD. And my friend ordered herself the cucumber mocktail and she loved it!! We then ordered the bei kabob platter. My favorites were the chicken, ribeye kabob and the lamb chops!! Delicious. I also loved the salad and whatever sauce they put on the pita chips was amazing. The salad was well balanced with a variety of flavors and freshness. The babaganoush was SO good and all the other sauces on the platter was too. The pita served with the platter had this spicy garlic sauce inside and it was To die!!!! Sooo goooood! Ended our night with baklava. It was a bit too sweet for me. Service was good. The servers here are attentive and sweet. Good looking too if I may add, and very professional! Shout out Oscar!! They told us that on weekends they have belly dancers, djs, singers, etc. and it usually starts around 8pm. They also have hookah for about $40. We didn't get any because we had to leave for our next plans. We will be back for the fun performances, cute vibes and delicious fooood!!

An unexpected and pleasant surprise in Costa Mesa. While I've only had Lebanese food a limited number of times in the past, I know great food when I find it. Bei was an absolute delight for the palate! My wife had the Rib-Eye Kebabs and I the Beef and Chicken Shawarma which each come with Fattoush Salad and Basmati Rice including Tahini and garlic sauce with very generous portions so you won't leave hungry. Also, they provide an ample basket of pita bread for the table. They also have vegan options available. The decor of the restaurant was well curated with stylish and comfortable seating and the service was outstanding. Their team really took the time to get everything right and sincerely value their diners. Bei is adjacent to their sister take out stand (EZ Kebab) which I understand has some of the same great food available as well. We are very eager for our next visit so we can try out their extensive variety of Lebanese appetizers and other specialties. If you like Lebanese food or have never had the pleasure, you must give Bei a try! read more

My friends and I came here for her birthday and everything was amazing. The service was great and our server was very attentive and made sure we had a memorable time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice Lebanese restaurant that's Halal near Costa Mesa and has a great ambiance to it! Would definitely come back here again because the food was very yummy and tasty! I got the chicken shawarma wrap with French fries and you could tell that everything was cooked fresh! I came in for a 222 event and was really impressed by this restaurant! Roland and Eric were incredible hosts and so charismatic. The patio is nice, and the heaters were perfect for a cozy dining experience! Would definitely come again and try more food. Hopefully they have a liquor license when I come back, but if not you can bring a bottle of your own wine and pay an uncorking fee for $25. read more

Found this spot today when looking for "Mediterranean food" - what a GEM! It's attached to EZ kabob, but what they've created is a fantastic location to relax & enjoy authentic Lebanese cuisine. My wife and I shared the BEI appetizer sampler and a mixed shawarma plate ( it was plenty of food). Sampler has 4 different items (2 of each kind) - I would butcher the names, but each was delicious. I would order it again next time and highly recommend it! The mixed shawarma plate was huge - both the chicken & steak were very good. They are served with delicious hummus, a fresh salad (similar to a Greek more than a garden salad). Pita chips & dip were provided, pita bread with the meal, we had baklava & kanafeh (a sweet cheese desert - MUST TRY). The meal was a good value, absolutely delicious. Our service was provided by Eric and he was top notch. Attentive, personal and friendly (so was Roland) Good food, Good people, good environment. I wish them good fortune - we will definitely be repeat customers! read more

We are Lebanese, and were naturally looking for some yummy food from our hometown. We are picky eaters, and I have to say the food was ABSOLUTLEY delicious!! I'm a foodie and was beyond satisfied. Their chicken, meat kabob, and Kafta was cooked to perfection. We ordered just about everything and were pleasantly surprised at how they perfected each and every dish. The service was perfection! We truly felt at home because of how kind and hospitable the staff was. Tommy was our waiter and he was absolutely on point, and Roland (the owner), continuously made the effort to come out to ensure our needs were met. They were not only met, but definitely exceeded! The food was phenomenal. We were given some delicious chips with a Lebanese dip. We got the appetizer platter which was fun to share and try the various tastes of Lebanon. I stopped by to meet some friends at BEI and was pleasantly surprised. First of all the ambience is amazing. It's an indoor but outdoor setting, with an elegant vibe. Service was 10 out of 10 & most importantly, the food was delicious! We enjoyed a bunch of appetizers, and I especially loved the falafel and Fattoush salad. Service and ambiance are 5 stars. However the food was blah. I hope we just had a bad experience and it was an isolated event. The kefta was dry and lacked flavor. The ribeye kabob was equally dry. How does one overcook ribeye? The only dish worth mentioning was the babaganoush. Skip the spicy potatoes as well. read more

Such an amazing experience at Bei. From the food to the service to the ambiance everything was outstanding. Went with my family for my dad's birthday and he was so excited having grown up eating Lebanese food. Every single dish was delicious and made fresh from family recipes. Sandy was excellent and so kind from the moment we walked in. They even remembered to bring out a candle with dessert. Thank you so much for such a great meal and birthday for my dad. Bei is a full-service dinner concept focusing on Lebanese dining in Costa Mesa, California. Bei is distinctly Lebanese. Short for Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Bei offers guests authentic char-grilled kebabs (chicken, meat, & lamb), shawarma, and a variety of hot & cold mezze (appetizers). Bei boasts an elegant and inviting ambiance meticulously designed to create a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The fully-enclosed (glass all around), heated patio allows for a great experience with an indoor/outdoor feel. We love Kitsch Bar and have always had a good time here, which is why this was so disappointing…read more The bartender, Sofia, completely ruined the vibe for us. She was rude and came off really disrespectful, and at one point said things that felt degrading. It made my boyfriend so uncomfortable that he actually left and went outside just to get away from it. Instead of calming things down, she got more aggressive and tried to intimidate me and my friend into leaving. She straight up told us to go and wouldn't even let me finish my martini. I had a long week and just wanted to relax, and that moment felt so unnecessary and frustrating. We still love Kitsch Bar, but that experience with Sofia was not okay and definitely left a bad impression. Hopefully it's not something others have to deal with.

The dishes I ordered -- Hawashy as an appetizer and Makaroni Bechamel (Bashmil) casserole -- are foods I grew up with. The last time I had this exact meal cooked for me by my mother was several years ago, so placing this order felt like a gamble, especially with the restaurant being all the way in Anaheim while I live in Irvine. That gamble paid off immediately. From the very first bite, the food tasted unmistakably authentic. The hawashy was deeply seasoned, rich, and comforting -- exactly how it's supposed to be, not watered down or adjusted for convenience. The makaroni bechamel was the real emotional gut punch in the best way possible. Creamy, savory, perfectly spiced, and layered the way it's done back home. It tasted like something made with care, patience, and respect for the dish. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal hit me hard. After one bite, I literally called the restaurant just to thank them. I asked to speak to the manager and told him what this meal meant to me -- how it tasted like something my own mother would make, how it brought back memories I didn't realize I'd been missing. That call wasn't planned. It was instinctive. Huge shout-out to Zayne, the manager, who was incredibly kind and generous on the phone. He even sent along kunafa for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- warm, sweet, and beautifully made. Beyond the food itself, the packaging deserves real praise. Everything arrived hot, which is not easy, especially for a casserole like makaroni bechamel. Once that dish cools too much, it loses something important. This didn't. It arrived as if it had just come out of the oven, which speaks volumes about the care taken in preparing orders for delivery. This is not a 5-star review because of nostalgia or heritage alone. **Review of Bei Kebab: A Disgraceful Dining Experience** I have never felt so disrespected at a restaurant in my life. My recent visit to Bei Kebab was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The ordeal began with our appetizers, which took an eternity to arrive. After an agonizing wait, the server casually informed us that they were ready. Instead of bringing them out, he vanished for about ten minutes to review our order. When he finally returned, he had the audacity to ask for corrections! Seriously, how about serving us the appetizers first before wasting our time? It was infuriating and completely unacceptable. When the appetizers finally graced our table, we were handed an additional plate as some sort of consolation for the delay. The server smugly declared that it was a gesture to make up for our wait. So, like any reasonable person would do, we began to eat what was served to us. Imagine our shock when the manager returned a mere ten minutes later, scolding us for eating the extra plate, which, according to him, wasn't actually meant for us! Are you kidding me? In what world are diners expected not to eat food that is placed in front of them? We were explicitly told it was ours, yet somehow we were made to feel guilty for enjoying a meal we believed was given to us out of goodwill. It's absurd! The experience only worsened when the bill arrived. We were slapped with an automatic 18% gratuity for a party of six, even though only five of us actually ate. When I pointed this out, the manager had the gall to argue with me, asking how they were supposed to know. Well, I don't know, maybe because you took our order and saw that one person didn't order a single thing? Instead, he insisted that this individual ordered a glass of water. Really? We're being charged gratuity because someone had a water? The entire situation felt like a pathetic attempt to squeeze more money out of us. And when I expressed my concerns about the high prices, especially for such lackluster food, I was met with guilt trips about not wanting to tip appropriately. If I'm being charged nearly $30 for chicken and rice, I'm not exactly feeling generous! To add insult to injury, I was also charged $0.50 and $1.00 for hot sauce and tahini. While it may not seem like a lot, it's the principle of the matter. If you're running a restaurant, you should inform customers about such charges upfront. And let's not forget the manager's continued insistence that we didn't have to pay for the extra plate. Yes, because you served it to us and told us it was ours! The logic here is baffling. In the end, we left a tip despite the horrendous service, and to our utter disbelief, we were told, "You're not welcome back." What an insult! We were treated like children simply because we questioned your questionable practices and terrible food quality. The sambousas had zero flavor, and the overall dining experience was dismal. I can confidently say that I 100% DO NOT recommend Bei Kebab to anyone. If you value your money and your time, steer clear of this establishment. My experience certainly doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, as evidenced by the other scathing reviews. Avoid at all costs! read more
