I have been a patient of the doctors Beierle for 31 years! I wanted to find a dentist shortly after moving to the area. In 1990 I took a chance based on meeting the Beierles in a dive store. From the very beginning, I have always received excellent care. Their staff are dedicated and tend to stay for many years. I have been a patient of the same dental hygienist, Deanne for nearly 20 years! I've never considered changing dentists, and I have enjoyed excellent care and made great personal friends as well. My first visit at this office was amazing! Front office was very friendly and all smiles. Very informative consult and xrays, he took his and i didn't feel rushed. Answered all my questions and I felt confident about their knowledge. I had expected for them to tell me i needed at least 3 fillings and even had him double check my two teeth i suspected. Both Dr.s Joe and Jan always have my dental health as the primary objective of my visit. They both mention current trends in dentistry and that makes me comfortable to know they are staying current with updates in their field. They also understand my out-of-pocket concerns and practice responsible dentistry. They both explain what is going on in my mouth and what they recommend or will do in a way that is easily understood. The staff for Dr.s Joe and Jan are exceptional. They have all been there for a long time and know their jobs and are very professional. My hygienist is Carolyn and she's the best. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars! I have been a patient of Beierle & Beierle for over 30 years! I was so fortunate to find them when they had an office in Ventura back in 1986! I'm so glad they opened the Thousand Oaks office in the 90's because it makes the drive from South Bay faster. Yes that's right, I drive 50+ miles each way to go to the Dentist. They are THAT GOOD! First off, I am a HUGE baby when it comes to dental work. Childhood trauma from a retired Navy dentist working out of his basement.... instinctual fear that would cost too much in therapy to treat. ;) That's why both Joe & Jan are AWESOME! I never fear that I will be in any pain. I know they always have my best interest in mind. Second, their office is state of the art, clean and extremely comfortable! Third and just as important is how nice everyone is who works there. From Karen at the front desk to Deanne who is the most professional, caring, and awesome dental hygienist on the planet! I'm simply baffled. A with Yelp and B. with the poor reviews. A. What happened to all the positive reviews that were here??? They were here. I remember reading them! I think that's why I stopped coming here because the reviews I wrote never seemed to show up so what was the point? Anyways, just read what I said before. The 2 reviews here I think don't represent Beierle and Beierle. Search "Demand Force+Beierle Dental" and it says out of 370 reviews, "99.5% of patients would refer friends and family to us." That speaks volumes to me. Do some research. They're as professional as they come, really want to work with you through everything. Great dentist!!! I had my first visit today with Dr. Jan Beierle. She was AMAZING. I am not exaggerating. She was very thorough with the exam, explained everything and was conservative and honest. Her entire staff was great. Starting with the front desk and their kind and professional demeanor. Then Erica who took my xrays was great and knowledgeable. The best dental office in the area. Polite people, very helpful, very careful. I am sure they don't charge me extra. Last time, they refund me some money. When I asked for the reason, they said one of the procedure was not necessary for you. It was very impressive for me. They can do that procedure and charge me for that. Even, they can keep my money and don't say anything about that to me. I am not a dentist, and for sure I wouldn't understand any thing about that. But, they prefer to refund my money and don't do unnecessary procedure on my mouth. That is great. read more

I was looking for a "5-star" dentist, and my research led me to Beierle & Beierle in Thousand Oaks. It's out of the way, but that's a small sacrifice for clean teeth and good service. Service is my number one criterion. So, I did some research on Google and found B&B. As it turns out, I'm a terrible researcher. (Next time I'll use Yelp!) Overall, Beierle & Beierle is a three star dentist. They advertise that they have televisions and music to listen to while you get your teeth cleaned. The television was ancient by today standards. (It was only barely picking up an old re-broadcast of I Love Lucy as I got my x-rays done.) Through the static, I could make out closed captioning, but it only worked for one or two characters. "Oh, it's old." They laughed. "It just does that..." I guess it was distracting enough. But, who needs distractions for x-rays? I got my cleaning done first, and they didn't even have the television plugged in. Oh, and the music they were talking about was lightly buzzing through the overhead speakers. Not unlike elevator music -- nothing like the high tech dentists that my friends have been raving about in Studio City. (They get widescreen television, personalized music, massaging chairs...) Like I said, I could have done my research better. All of that aside, I don't need frills when I go to the dentist. I'm fine with my iPod and a good, courteous dentist. Beierle & Beierle were "okay" in that department. Not the best I've had, but not the worst. They don't talk too much at me, did their job adequately. All in all, they were tolerable. Now, here's the part that angered me: after my cleaning, they convinced me to come back for a "deep cleaning." The only catch was that they have to do it in two 2-hour sessions. I explained that it would difficult for me to block out so much time on two days since I own and operate my own business. They understood, and worked with me to do it all in one day. Sure, they'd like to do the deep cleaning right away, but they'll push it back to accommodate my busy schedule. These guys are awesome! They are so nice. Oh, but wait... I come back to B&B a little over a month later, and the first thing they say to me is, "Sarah wants to talk to you. Have a seat." (I thought they said Sharon.) So, I sit down with Sarah, and she says, "I'm sorry, but we can only do half of the appointment today." I was shocked. I'll spare you the majority of the details, but a lot of my speech involved the word "but." "But, you said---" "No, we don't book appointments over two hours." "But, you made an exception. That's why we made the appointment so far out." "I don't see how that's possible." "But, you cleared it with the hygienist during my last appointment." "I know, but the hygienist that is here today won't do it. It'll interrupt her lunch." "But, that doesn't make sense. Why didn't you book it with the same hygienist then?" "It shouldn't have been a problem because we're only doing one side of your mouth." "But, you cleared both sides with the hygienist last time I was here." "I know. She isn't here today." "Couldn't you have called me to tell me?" "I didn't think it would be a big deal." "So, you knew you made a mistake?" "No, we don't book appointments over two hours." "Then, why did you call me aside right when I came in? You knew you made a mistake." "I'm sorry, but you must be mixed up." So, that conversation was circular and frustrating. I found my blood starting to boil. I admit to raising my voice a little. I was mad. Worse yet, I was helpless! I'd just wasted most of the morning. For nothing! Ultimately, I just wanted them to work with me to make it up to me. That's what good customer service is - and that's why I came to Beirle & Beirle in the first place! Well, they never even tried to work with me to solve the problem. Instead, they kept saying "Sorry" (but as a placating tool, and not as a true apology). Eventually, the entire office started banding together against me. It was an army of mindless teeth-cleaning automatons attacking me verbally over a situation that they weren't even a part of. It was clear that Sarah had made the mistake, and all of the evidence pointed to it... but they wouldn't listen. So, I asked for my records and left. I'm never going back. If I can prevent one person from making the same mistake, I'll be pretty satisfied. There are more than a few dentists on the same block that B&B are on. I strongly suggest that you go to one of them instead. read more

The older woman especially is rude, arrogant and the other two sort of gang up on you if you question a charge or want to change an appointment. It's embarrassing and who needs this anyway. I can't disagree with Todd and Ralph more. I had a great experience at Beierle and Beierle Dental. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to getting any dental work done and my hygienist was so gentle and so thorough I left with a bigger cleaner smile. They have cool flat screens that let you see your x-rays right there. The doctor went over the x-rays with me so I knew exactly what was going on and how I could change my daily habits to assure my dental health.
