Let me preface that I will never wait over 10 minutes for beignets so if I happen to walk by and there's no line, I, for sure, will take advantage of the opportunity. What I truly enjoy about this place is that I've always had fresh beignets; so fresh that we gotta wait a bit because they're too hot out the bag. We came right at opening and were expecting a long line but there was no line! Ordered the 6pk of classic beignets and the frozen mint julep. They have shirts that were pretty funny. They make the beignets fresh and it was cool to watch the process. They also have take home kits so you can make these at home too. The beignets were delicious and hit the spot, so warm and fluffy with the perfect powder sugar coating. The frozen mint julep was tasty too, my only complaint about it is the very artificial green color. Otherwise the flavor was spot on. Made us feel like we were at Disneyland. Let me get right to it: I'm going to tell you EXACTLY how to have the most optimized experience here. The BEST and ONLY thing you should order are the Classic Original New Orleans Beignets. Any of the other fancier seeming options are not the way to go (I made this mistake myself) because they do not taste good, and even if they're alright to you, they are not worth the price. The only food items that have a reasonable price are the classic beignets. And they are absolutely delicious -- so much so that you can taste how freshly they are made. If you're figuring out how much to order for you or your group and think only one per person is enough, you're wrong. You WILL want more. Having some water is definitely also necessary to pair with this dessert so buy some or bring some! Despite the varieties on the entire menu that are not up to par, the five stars I'm giving are deserved for the classic beignets alone. Beignets Expressed is the side attachment to the Jazz Kitchen where visitors can stop in for a "quick service" set up of buying beignets without needing to sit down at the actual Jazz Kitchen restaurant. This review is from a visit I made on a Saturday morning. At the time of stopping in, they were not very busy, although I've seen the line to order here outside of the door. Staff seemed to be moving customers through efficiently. The beignets were warm and pillowy; the way I love them. The inside space of the establishment was clear and well-maintained. There are no seats to eat inside, though they do have a short standing-only table toward the end of the establishment. The beignets are really meant to take on the go. My order consisted of the four count of the traditional beignets. As noted above, I received them quickly upon placing my order and they were warm, pillowy, with just the perfect amount of doughyness. For some reason the powdered sugar wouldn't not stick to the beignets to save my life. Bummer, but they tasted good nonetheless. At the time of my visit, some of the staff did not seem to be in a good mood. The cashier seemed annoyed with a question I asked about the menu and really had no kind of service-like interaction. No smiles, no thank you's, or responses to anything beyond telling me what my total was. A very cold experience. Located in downtown Disney Next to Jazz kitchen and across from tortilla joes. Seating is hard to come by, so you'll see people sitting on the planter areas. The wait time and line varies so much depending on day and time. This place was also just recently remodeled. When there is a line it will usually line up in the alley way between Beignets express and wonderground. The beignets here I believe are just thicker, denser and are more filling with chewy center compared to the mint julep ones. The last time we had the Mint Julep Mikey shaped Binets they were hollow inside compared to these. We do like the choices of having the classic or glazed beignets. We do prefer these over the Mint Julep ones thus far. We haven't dropped by Mint Julep since Tiana's Palace opened, but it's on the to eat list! read more

Closer to 3.5 stars. Almost every time, I've been to SoCal in the last few years, I make it a point to stroll through Downtown Disney and browse the shops and get a bite to eat. Call it a force of habit at this point. First off, many years ago, you could just park without paying for parking and that all changed a few years ago where you enter through a gate and grab a ticket. You can get validation but you need to purchase something $20 or more. The line here can be 15 mins or it can be much longer. You line up on the side entrance and it swirls around the dark alley. I almost always get just the plain beignets with the powdered sugar dusting and they taste so delicious when warm. These warm pastries are especially comforting on a cold day here. read more

Been here a few times since the remodel and I think they've executed it pretty well. The staff working were really nice and hard working. The beignets are made fresh right in front of you, so they couldn't be anymore fresh when you eat them. Might be a stretch to give this place 4 stars but I'm doing it because whenever I travel to Southern California and I'm near Downtown Disney, I make my way over to Beignets Expressed for a quick sweet snack. Well, quick isn't entirely accurate, at least every time I've stood in line for my turn to purchase their fresh Beignets. The line typically wraps around the side and around the alley way wall. The wait can be anywhere from 15 mins to 30 mins, again from my multiple years of experience. When you do get to the front to place your order, you'll be treated to the Beignet making process right in front of you. I waited in a long line here to get some beignets to go before my friends and I left Downtown Disney. I was pretty excited going into it but was later disappointed. Obviously, the prices aren't the best here since it is Downtown Disney. I got 4 maple bacon glazed beignets for around $15. I also paid for my friend's beignets together which helped us get our parking ticket validated. To get it validated you need to buy something at a total value of $20. The cashier was pretty nice, even when my friend was pretty indecisive on their order and taking their time with a long line behind them. The beignets came out hot and fresh, but we had to get out of there fast so I didn't eat them until later. I heated my beignets up in the microwave to get them warm. They were ok. The dough wasn't as light or fluffy as I remember and the maple glaze was a bit too sweet for me. The sweetness overpowered the saltiness of the bacon, which I wish shined through more. I think next time I'll just get the original powdered sugar beignets and eat them fresh. Those usually are the best.
