Sweet & sour chicken, vegetable fried rice & crab Rangoon.
    Carla N.

Some co-workers were eating food from here last week & it looked good. I don't take a lunch so wherever I go to pick up food has to be close. This is not close to my work so I ordered Door Dash for delivery today. I really wanted to like it, but it was just okay. I ordered a lunch special. I got the sweet & sour chicken since it's my favorite. I paid 50 cents more for the vegetable fried rice. I also paid a little more because I wanted the crab Rangoon instead of soup. The chicken was good, but I didn't like love the sweet & sour sauce. It was runny & a little too sour. The crab Rangoon was really good. The fried rice looked good, but it fell flat for me. I'm not sure why, but even with the soy sauce it didn't have much of a taste. It had broccoli, peas, carrots & onions in it. I'm not sure I will order from here again, but if I do, I wouldn't get the rice again.

I usually prefer crispy tofu, and the Ma Po Tofu didn't have any photos or a clear description that it was made with soft tofu. We ordered it anyway because we enjoy Szechuan flavors, so we knew we were taking a bit of a gamble. When it arrived (via DoorDash) and we saw it was soft tofu, we were a little disappointed, but we rolled with it. Overall, the food was decent. The lo mein noodles were al dente and very long. The Szechuan dish wasn't really spicy, so we added sriracha and soy sauce to adjust the flavor. It also came with white rice and fortune cookies. Portions were fairly generous--we ordered a regular Ma Po Tofu, a small lo mein, and rice, and still had enough leftovers for two people. A solid, average experience for us. Clearer menu descriptions would definitely help.

Simple mom and pop type of place. My meal was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Plenty left for later.

I hate that I have to write this... especially because I really don't like giving bad reviews. But I have to be honest: this was disgusting! Not the food itself, but the extremely long hair that was entangled in my General Tso's chicken. (See the photo for reference. y'all, I mean that hair looked like it was cooked into the batter. JUST GROSS!!!!) I'd be very careful about eating here since it doesn't seem like cleanliness is on the menu. I will admit... the food was pretty tasty... until that hot mess ruined it.

Had lunch at my brother's "go to" and it was delicious and reasonable priced ($7.99). This family restaurant is very casual, with friendly owners. Because your food is cooked when ordered, you can see, smell, and hear your food being cooked. You can eat in, but their takeout is very popular. You will enjoy.

Beijing express has a great lunch menu. You can get a big meal for under $10. Food is good for the price. They have a lot to choose from and food comes out super fast.

It took at least 30 min for our food to trickle out of the kitchen. It took another 30 minutes after we ate to get our bills paid. We were running out of things to talk about it took so long! The food wasn't great, there's hardly a vegetable in anything! we all ordered fried rice but it looked nothing like fried rice on our combo plates, not a single veggie or shred of egg in it. Those that had plain rice said it was better. We asked for chili crisp, she gave us a container of chili oil and a container with crushed red pepper, yet they had jars of chili crisp for sale. The server really was a gem, but the food and wait times were NOT. Nope, not for me.

Order at the cashier, grab a number, and food will be served to you. Needless to say, I ordered the 4. Shanghai pork mini soup dumplings which were $10.25 for 6 dumplings. I would've loved less dough, more soup, overall bigger portion size (larger dumplings or more of them). Otherwise, the soup itself was tasty. We also ordered the 14. Chongqing Fried Spicy Chicken $13.95, which was a platter of boneless chicken and peppers. I was very impressed with the crisp exterior but soft/juicy interior of the chicken. I'm not usually a spice person, but I was left feeling tingly but not in pain and not numb. Overall I found Heng's Kitchen to be disproportionately pricey given the taste and portion sizes. I'm pretty critical and discerning about my XLB, and this place did not totally satisfy my craving, although I was pleasantly surprised about the chicken. Note: rice is not included with any dish and is $1 extra. Free room-temperature self-serve water available.
