I rarely post on Yelp but I had to dig out my login to make sure this local restaurant gets recognized. We have been in a rut lately with the quality of Asian/Japanese food in this area. This place was a pleasant surprise - fantastic fresh food and very fast delivery. Have you ever ordered from a Chinese place where it tasted greasy or old? Not here. Everything tasted freshly made, the food was hot, and the portions were huge. Even with delivery time, the food tasted as if they just brought it to your table. I was excited to try out Beijing Tokyo, after receiving a menu in the mail at my place of employment, as their menu looked a bit more interesting than most of the local Chinese joints. I was doubly intrigued when I saw that they had a yelp 4-star average, far and away more impressive than the average take out place's 2.5 or maybe even 3 star rating. What we ordered: 1 order of crab rangoon, 1 order General Tso chicken, 1 order chicken lomein 2 complimentary spring rolls for ordering over $20 (with coupon). We ordered the food as take out. First impressions were good, The crab rangoon were generously stuffed, although usual fare. The spring rolls contained a mixture of cabbage and *some* chicken, nothing extraordinary there either. The General Tso's chicken however, in complete and utter contrast with any of the reviews on yelp was an absolute disaster. One reviewer, whom it should be noted, ate at this restaurant only under a month ago described it as being "white meat, tender and yummy. It had a great blend of ginger, garlic, chili paste," It was... maybe one or two of those things. And to think that I was initially excited to eat it, due to the broccoli on top having a perfect steam, instead of the limp grossness usually present! Upon first bite two things were obvious: 1.) the breading on the meat had a pleasant amount of crisp to it. and 2.) It was white meat chicken all right, as it is pretty difficult to achieve the level of meat-dryness I experienced with dark meat, and it was certainly not tender at all. In fact, it appeared that the meat has under gone a serious case of freezer burn, but the chef decided to go ahead and use it anyway to save on food costs. The sauce was wholly unremarkable; containing entirely too little chili, garlic or really anything that is supposed to lend flavour to the dish other than red food coloring and sugar... and red colouring doesn't even really have a flavor, if you catch my meaning. The sauce was, however provided in ample quantities, but it could not even begin to salvage the chicken's dryness. I wound up throwing in the trash after trying two more pieces (that'd be 3 in total). Definitely not yummy My wife's Lo mein however was excellent. Ample amounts of chicken, and the noodles were not over seasoned. Ever get a plate of Lo mein and you're still parched hours later due to way too much salt? This wasn't one of those. I should have gone with Kung pao chicken, but that too is made with white meat... so eh? read more

This place is a hidden gem. I don't understand how it isn't packed all the time. Our third visit and just as amazing as our first. You walk into an empty restaurant and may feel apprehensive, don't worry, it's great. Good service, quick food delivery, just all around great. read more

This is the real deal. Awesome food . Fried rice not greasy. Very tasty sushi. Goyza and dumplings super yummy. Fast and nice service.

I usually go in for take out sushi so I can't really speak to the quality of anything else. It's convenient and they're pretty quick. Their specialty rolls are well put together and the quality of the fish is very good. read more

Finally, a fantastic and reasonably priced Asian restaurant in the midst of Burke...the portions are HUGE! Fresh tasting vegetables (crisp, not soggy), rice isn't sticky, and all the meat dishes (beef, chicken) are loaded with more meat than any other Asian restaurant I've been to...the shrimps must be on steroids becasue they're BIG (the kung pao shrimp is excellent)...The owners are very polite and the service is outstanding. First time here and I have to say the service is very nice. The lady serving us was very kind and polite. However, my experience with MY dish wasn't very good. So my friend and I ordered Tempura Udon (mine), Tuna roll, Egg drop soup, and General Taos chicken. The dishes were kind of pricey but the portions were definitely larger than other places for the main dishes. The tuna in the Tuna roll was very fresh (even though we ordered around 8PM), the egg drop soup was very good, and the General Tao's chicken was freshly fried and seasoned so very hot and very good (and largely portioned). However, for my udon, it was pretty disappointing. The udon itself had not a clear soup but it was mirky and there was just some spring onions here and there with the dried fish flakes all mixed in there making it look like its some spoiled part of the spring onions seen in there. Also the noodles felt very instant. I felt like I would be able to make a more presentable and authentic tasting udon with the instant cup ramens. Also the tempuras on the side were very odd. There was a whole broccoli among the tempuras which looked like a toy tree. But the tempuras were very thickly coated with batter and there wasn't a good variety with the fried vegetables. It did come with two fried shrimps which was good (and wasn't as thickly coated with batter) but for the vegetables there was fried carrots, onions, unknown thing white with black dot thing that tasted very close to the orange yams they also had. The udon as a whole was disappointing. So my suggestion for this restaurant is just eat the sushi/rolls and the Chinese food option. read more

My fiancé and I dine in a lot at this restaurant! We're big sushi people always looking for fresh yummy sushi! This place delivers, literally and figuratively speaking. The women working are so sweet and quick to answer our order questions and the sushi alwsys comes out presentable and fast. They have an extensive Chinese and Japanese menu to choose from also! We used to order delivery at lease once a week from Beijing and including sushi and some Chinese the food always arrived in about 30 minutes still tasting as fresh as if we were in the restaurant! read more

We ate here for the first time last Friday night. The atmosphere is nice. The service was quick. However, that is where the good part ends. We had a Japanese spring roll - Harumaki, it was greasy and the vegetables inside we're quite limp. We opted to share an order of Sha Cha Chicken on the recommendation of our server. This dish was an Americanised recipe, the sauce was overly sweet and very thick and gloppy. I wouldn't recommend it. I will likely give them one more chance, but if I can't find authentic dishes I won't be back. My first clue should have been that there was no one (other than the staff) that was of Asian decent in the dining room. read more

I'd ordered takeout from here a few times and thought it was very good but I ate in the restaurant for the first time this past weekend and I was very pleased by the service. I was there with my 2 toddlers which is always a risk when eating out. The staff seemed to know this and went out of their way to keep my kids happy. As soon as we walked in, they got pre-meal fortune cookies. While waiting for our order, they brought the kids free egg drop soup which successfully kept them from whining about how bored or hungry they were. The meal was delicious and they packed up the leftovers for us at the table. I know that sounds like such a little thing but it's one more thing that is just annoying to do when you have 2 kids demanding every minute of your attention. Staff was attentive and friendly. Always on point! Orange Chicken actually peels as if it was real breast meat and not mostly fat. Really recommend this Chinese place. Best in the area and believe me...I have been to most of them in Burke/Springfield. read more

Hubby and I LOVE this place. We pretty much go here on a weekly basis. We've tried a variety of Chinese and Japanese dishes and have loved almost everything. I really like their Hibachi Chicken, General Tsos Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Schezuan Chicken, and Shrimp Tempura sushi. My husband has tried more kinds of sushi than I can name, and says it's the best sushi he has had in the US. It is super fresh and made with quality ingredients. The service has always been very friendly and attentive too. We will continue to go here for as long as we are living in the area. This has definitely been our go-to asian place for the past few months. I highly recommend trying it! read more

Food was very good. They were open for Christmas and they saved our dinner so to speak. What a great find! Sushi was good and their Hibachi was just as good. Service was friendly and atmosphere was nice. The only knock I have is their Yum Yum sauce was slightly watered down and not thick but it was good. My husband and I lost our favorite Chinese restaurant a few years ago and have been looking for a replacement ever since, and this place fits the bill! They even have delicious moo-shu chicken that measures up to that of our old place which we've found is hard to find. I haven't tried their sushi yet, but I love that this place has both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. This is definitely going to be our new usual place. read more

I ordered take out yesterday, the food was okay. I ordered the orange chicken and lo mein. I would give it a zero stars if it allowed me. It was definitely below the average Chinese food I've had in my experience. I give it a zero stars since they charged my card AND MY BROTHERS CARD. WE PAID 60 DOLLARS FOR A 30 DOLLAR FROZEN FOOD MEAL. Do not come here, they are thieves and if you do then make sure you check your bank statements and make sure you have a toilet close by so you can throw up the terrible food. read more

This place has EVERYTHING. It's one of my absolute favorite lunch spots (not to mention favorite lunch prices). If you love great food, great ambience, and the best staff, then Beijing Tokyo is the place for you. I highly recommend the Volcano Roll and my boyfriend will tell you to order the general Tsos with fried rice. Their hibachi, although not cooked in front of you, is spot on. Their take out is great. The general sows chicken was not in our bag when we got home. Immediately called was promised that they would make it good on our next trip. For neighborhood Chinese, it's pretty good. Their lunch special price point is about right. Spring roll/soup/entree portion for lunch is enough to stretch it to two meals if you want. I hope they keep up the quality since decent food, let alone Chinese food, is hard to find in the suburbs. read more

As far as I'm concerned, this is the BEST Chinese and sushi place in Burke. I order regularly for delivery and all except for once, it was delivered within about half an hour. I am very happy with their freshness and quality of food. On the Chinese side, the only thing I do not like is their hot & sour soup. For whatever reason, it was too sweet. For their Japanese side, I wasn't thrilled with their homemade version of teriyaki sauce. It had too much ginger and I am not a huge fan of ginger. read more

I've ordered their food for delivery twice. The first time, I ordered the wrong dish and it tasted like sh*t. So I thought I should give them another try since it was partially my fault for ordering something that I didn't want. I ordered some noodle and egg rolls the second time. It was still disappointing. Grrrr I wish I could hate this place! Every time we've ordered, we've asked them to come around back as we live in a basement apartment. Every time they've knocked on the front door of our landlord's apartment. We've ordered online and by phone, it doesn't matter, they never tell the delivery people. While this is super irritating... I have to admit their food is pretty good. I've had the gyoza, general tso's chicken, and the combo fried rice and it's all been great. Grrr. read more

This is our go-to family dinner outing. I love the combo drunken noodles and my husband usually gets the Tempura Udon hot pot. My kids love the sushi and teriyaki salmon. We have never had a bad meal here, and the service has always been wonderful. read more

Wasn't a fan of the food I ordered. Drunken Noodles had no flavor to them and barely any spice. The tomato that they used wasn't ripe enough and the dish lacked overall flavor. I also got 2 spring rolls that I wasn't fond of the flavor. I won't be returning :( read more

This place is great! The menu has a really great variety and we've never had anything that wasn't delicious. We have never had to wait and even the delivery is usually very quick. The sushi is really good - recommend the Ninja Roll and the spicy tuna. Also, they'll serve the crab rangoon with duck sauce upon request and in my opinion that is a far superior sauce to the red sauce. read more

This place is amazing! We've eaten many of their dishes and they've all been wonderful. The take out is fast and eating in the restaurant is just as great. It's a small place inside but it's always clean and fast. Every person there has been polite and helpful. One of our favorite places to go. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. The food is good, but they seem to have problems with the online ordering. I've ordered from this place twice and both times I've waited just under 2 hours for the food to arrive. Customer service was poor and not helpful. Delivery guy was nice and asked if i was watching football, so kudos to him for trying to cover up his 2 hour arrival. read more

I just ordered Sushi - rolls and ngiri and both were very good. The hot sake was also good, although I'm probably not the most discerning sake drinker. The restaurant was not that crowded on a Friday night (it was raining/snowing out though) and the service was very good. I would definitely go back and maybe try their Chinese food. read more
