Great place for Chicken Tawook/ shawarma in SLC area. Yellow rice, this is a true authentic middle eastern place you are looking for. Order at counter and sit where you would like and your name will be called to pick up order. You can tell the family that runs this place puts their heart into making the food. It has a diner feel so it's very cozy and Spacious.

Great hidden spot for fresh yummy Mediterranean food. Big portions enough to share. My mom, sister, & I shared one salad and one veggie plate and we still had leftovers. Definitely recommend their chicken shawarma that slowly cooks around a spit making the meat super juicy. Make sure you try their garlic sauce. It'll leave you with bad breath all day but it's so well worth it. The veggie plate makes a good appetizer plate so you can try a little bit of everything. Watch out for their sport peppers. It's 2x hotter than the ones you're use to eating at In-N-Out. It gave me the hiccups but so good. This place is big enough for large parties and very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I wish I loved closer to here because I would go here weekly. So many healthy choices and great fresh food.

I went through the drive thru and there was no line. They quickly brought my food and there was sooo much food! Feels a reasonable price considering how much food you get. All the flavors are so yum. Would love to try their other stuff some time.

One of the benefits of having a diverse friend group is that they will occasionally introduce me to some wonderful food that I wouldn't have found on my own. This was one of those such experiences. I have a friend who eats Halal, and when we go to lunch, she recommends places that have dishes she can eat, including Beirut Cafe. It's adjacent to a gas station, but don't let that deter you. The food is delicious and is worth a stop. You order at the counter, then pick it up a little while later when it's ready. I guess they'd call that "fast casual." Not only do they have great food, but they serve Farr ice cream, which is my favorite ice cream brand on the planet. I noticed that there's also a patio, which would be a fun place to enjoy a meal on a warm day. I'll definitely be back to give that a try this summer.

Met a friend here, and we both enjoyed our experience. I'm not an expert in Mediterranean cuisine, but I would say our food was pretty tasty. My beef tasted a little like lamb, but it was still enjoyable, so no real complaints here. The inside is clean with ample tables and chairs. Bonus points for also having an ice cream shop in the restaurant as well! The next time I'm in the mood for Mediterranean food, I'll probably try some other spots, but this is still a good option.

Pita Bread (1pc) (maybe we got two bc I ordered a kids meal?)

Has its own parking lot. Totally empty at 3 on a Friday. My son got the kids chicken shawarma and I got the chicken shawarma plate. Plus we got 2 drinks. I was annoyed that it was $40 at first but then neither of us could finish our meals! 2 people could easily share 1 meal. My son loved his fries and said the fry sauce was good too. And we both really enjoyed the very flavorful chicken and rice (make sure to try the garlicky white stuff... no idea what it is but I put a dab on my fork before each bite and it was so tasty). And of course I liked the food but pretty cool that a kid enjoyed this as well. Universal appeal!

Beirut Cafe is a clean and cozy spot, and I really liked that they have an ice cream shop attached to it too! I tried the chicken shawarma, a side of gyro, and kibbeh. The kibbeh was absolutely delicious and my favorite of the bunch. The chicken shawarma was solid and came with hummus and bread, which made it a filling meal. About halfway through, I felt like the dishes could use a bit more spice or heat--would be nice if they offered that option. Overall though, the food was tasty, the place felt neat and welcoming, and I'd definitely come back again.

The food was amazing. Had the best gyro I've had in a long time. The dessert was amazing. The coffee was amazing. The staff are really friendly and the ambience is chill.

We ordered the family meal and we really enjoyed it. One of the workers even helped me carry the food to my car - excellent customer service! We hope to be back soon!

5/5 So yummy. The pita bread is so soft and fresh. Spontaneously decided to try this place and I'm so glad we did.

Delicious food! I chose the chicken & shrimp plate with a side of labne. This was a lot of food! Everything was so delicious and I especially enjoyed the flavorful and juicy chicken kabob. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is kept very clean and neat. Looking forward to my next visit!

Haven't been here in a while but it's as good as I remembered. Got a couple items, but the Lamb Kebab plate was such a standout. The meat was extremely tender and flavorful, definitely my favorite thing here. The Shish Kafta was overcooked, otherwise it would have been really good. The rice pilaf is killer, and I really enjoyed the pickled veggies. I'm not a huge fan of hummus, but their pita is fantastic so it paired well. Forgot what chicken wrap we got, but the garlic sauce is a banger as well as their fries. Lastly, their baba ghanouj is excellent, I will definitely try more of the different appetizers in the future.

Shaku Maku is situated nearest to State Street, and as I always mention in reviews for this area, the parking is ridiculous. I don't know who designed the lot, but good grief it's stupid. Anyways, find a weird wonky space in which to leave your car, and head on into Shaku Maku. On my visit I was greeted immediately by the friendly cashier, then allowed to wander around discovering goodies to my heart's content. As you enter, you'll find sweets on your left, and they had about ten varieties of halva alone, so that's a big thumbs up from me (only way to beat that would be some freshly sliced, get on that, guys!). There were plenty of cookies, candy bars, chocolate covered dates, and just so many treats! Huzzah! Then, lots of pickled vegetables, beans, rice, spices, bulk nuts and dried fruits, some frozen meats and vegetables, a little fresh produce, cheese, and just all the staples you would expect to find at a Middle Eastern grocery. It's neither large nor tiny, and I am impressed by all they had stocked, without it feeling stuffed in. Prices were very reasonable, and check out was a breeze, with great customer service for the entirety of my visit. I get SO excited when shopping specialty markets or simply purchasing unusual ingredients and the employees want to share recipes. Here, the cashier and I had a passionate discussion about the glory of halloumi and similar cheeses, excitedly swapping recipes and uses, and he shared some really great ideas. I will certainly return.
