First off- the only gf menu items are chicken shawarma tin, beef shawarma tin, falafel tin, and most of the appetizers. Maybe the previous review that said they can make anything on the menu gluten free was true at one point but it is not now. Got here with a friend at 11:45 on a Monday and easily found parking. The guy working the cash register was super nice and knowledgeable about which items contained gluten. I chose the chicken shawarma tin and he told me I picked one of his favorite things. The food didn't take long. Right away I smelled cinnamon and other warm spices on the chicken. I added the green sauce on top and it was all so good with the yellow rice. I strongly believe this place is wildly underrated and remains one of Salt Lake's best Mediterranean restaurants. Its casual dining atmosphere can easily be overlooked, but don't let that stop you from their flavorful dishes. I ordered the Smothered Beef Shawarma Tin based off the photo alone, and was not one bit disappointed. It truly comes smothered in delicious green sauce, and personally, the saucier the better. I thought the beef was cooked perfectly and had a really lovely seasoning to it. The tin comes with a side salad, so the entire dish feels nutritious and fulfilling. Service was super quick and efficient! I will definitely be back to try their Makhshi Tin, which would've been my second choice. I had been wanting to try O'Falafel Etc for over four months, and was finally able to stop in. The food was just okay. The fries aren't the best, and the hot sauce was neither flavorful nor spicy. The falafel wrap was the best part, and while I liked the clearly homemade bread, the rest of the sandwich was nothing to write home about. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was very empty, only one other table besides ours. No a/c inside, only a large fan. However, it wasn't too unbearably hot to not be able to sit and eat. Food is a bit expensive but the portions make it worth it. We had the baba ganoush to share and that was probably my favorite part of the meal. The gyro plate I had was large but the meat was extremely salty and had no char to it. The green sauce they put all over the plate had no flavor and neither did the rice. My girl had the mixed grill plate. She said the meat was moist but again, not much flavor. The art on the walls is actually really cool and the staff is friendly. The decor here is unexpectedly adorable. We shared a tin and ordered some falafel. The texture of the falafel is very good. I think this business would do well to mostly serve variations of their falafel. They also include a generous portion of pita with an order of an appetizer. This place is located in a nice neighborhood with enough parking spots. I mainly went here for their falafel sandwiches but they have other plates and sandwiches, and burgers as well. The falafel that I ordered was pretty good and probably the best in salt lake! Not many places that offer falafel in salt lake! So this place was pretty good. The price was reasonable. This place is such a hidden gem. I can't tell you how great the food was. We decided to grab some food for our coworkers and went with O'Falafel Etc. Inside was spacious and clean and super welcoming. There were plenty of seats for small and large groups. There is parking behind the building and on the side street where the neighborhood is. Parking is free. We got to try 3 different food orders from here. 1. Makhshi Tin- SO DELICIOUS. The order was so filling, there was so much flavor and it was super easy to eat. I was lucky to eat this. 2. Chicken Shawarma Tin- the chicken was so soft and flavorful. This order comes with salad as well. 3. Beef Shawarma Tin- the beef was also soft and flavorful. It also comes with a salad. Both of the chicken and beef shawarma tins come with a green sauce. If you order to go, I suggest asking for 2-3 sauces each with the tin. I think an added thing I wish I would have added to the shawarma tins was hot sauce. Maybe ask for that too! All of the rice for each meal was so soft and buttery. The rice was cooked perfectly and our coworkers raved about it the entire time. The sizes of the meal portion was great that we all had some leftover to eat later. Fair amount of parking and not busy at early dinner time. Prices are fair, food is decent. Service is lightning quick and there is a lot of seating. The falafel in particular was EXCELLENT, some of the best falafel I've ever had. The tabouleh was ok, but too minty for my taste without many other flavors showing through and pretty expensive at $7 for a tiny portion. The smothered chicken shawarma was very good too. I love this place! I'm actually surprised I have not left a review yet. When we want to satisfy our falafel dreams, this is our go to place. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Special occasion dining, it probably is not. But everyday dining with a chill atmosphere and something different than a regular or burger or sandwich joint, it definitely is. It's super convenient, and has plenty of parking (which can be a rarity these days around Sugar House) so I say, throw this into the rotation. Even if you don't love falafel, you should probably at least try it for the "etc" bit. They actually do have a burger, they have plates, they have sandwiches, salads, and wraps. I saw the wrap, which comes with a side salad, fries, or rice. I instead opted for a sandwich, which I *thought* came with more than just the pita sandwich, but mine did not. I was in a hurry, so I wolfed down the beef shawarma sandwich and had to leave. For being a quick service place (order at the counter and they bring it out to you) they have a pretty expansive menu which means you could make multiple trips and try something totally different each time. The interior is a bit spartan, and I do think they could do something to soften it up, or make it a tad more inviting. But at the end of the day, it's a churn and burn kinda joint and not so much for you to lounge around. I like the variety on the menu, I like that it was a quick ordeal, and at about $10 a pop for whatever you get (give or take for other items) I think it's the middle of the road on price. read more

I drove pass it so many times thinking it's a sketchy food place. Well the sketchier they are the better they taste! When you walk in, it's totally different looking than it's exterior! It's an order at the counter and they bring your food for you. Just as a backup I went there with a coworker who knows his middle eastern food. The place looks really cool on the inside, a lot of beautiful painting and photos in the wall. I had hummus, falafel, and shawarma beef sandwich. They bake their own pita bread, So my sandwich was heavenly. The meat was well spiced with fantastic flavors! The hummus was super creamy and very smooth earthy flavor. The falafel were so crunchy and delicious. Then for dessert I had Knafeh, which is a sweet cheese dessert with crunchy dough topping, it was marvelous. My friend had a falafel and hummus plate that came with a side of rice. The falafel is fried perfectly and one of the better tasting falafel I've had in the city. Hummus is creamy and hearty. Perfect for dipping pita bread or falafel in. I decided to venture out and try a new dessert. I had the kunafa - a huge, round glob of cheese coated on top with semolina (or something with dried/fried noodle-like texture), all soaked in a sweet orange-blossom rosewater, topped off with pistachios. I give it 3 stars because we paid with card and it only had two options for a tip, and it wasn't a normal tip it was a large unnecessary tip.
