The store is exceptionally clean, well organized, and a friendly atmosphere. The employees that I have dealt with were very efficient and responsive. Whenever I asked for an item that I cannot locate, I was immediately taken to that location and shown the item. Then the employee thank me for asking...this is definitely a new twist for me, impressive to say the least. Don't know if is a store policy, but baggers will not accept remuneration. Love Bel Air/Raley's markets! This one is a good one (especially since the closest Raley's was recently shut down). It's clean, great products (meat and veggies/fruits are my main purchases here) and the staff are great (friendly and very helpful). This is the closest store to me, and I shop there regularly. It's large and usually has everything I'm looking for, although I tend to only buy things that are on sale if I can help it since their regular prices are high. I really like the self-serve checkouts they have available since they are usually wide open in the late evening when I tend to shop. read more

I came here to get some Bolthouse smoothie and juices since my Rayels near me didn't have the flavor I wanted. As I got home after buying a bunch of my favorite flavor I noticed that a lot of them expiration date was dec 17. Really that's gross plus it gave me some really bad stomach issue because of it. I can understand a few days but not weeks. I bought these items on Jan 6. That 11 days that they should have been removed. Never shopping here again. read more

This place was so scandalous today on thanksgiving. I pull up to the store at 2:50 and they would not let me in. The lady who looked like the lead was so rude as well making it seem like all we care about was ourselves. First off, She said that their "store closed at 3:00pm and that it's been posted on the wall for a week". I looked at my clock and it was 2:55pm. These people falsely advertised their closing time. Doors are supposed to close exactly on the set time. NO EARLIER, NO LATER. The management and staffing today failed and ultimately detoured our business and many others. customer service was not present here. I'm baffled with the experience and will not shop at this location further due to a very selfish management! read more

I've shopping here for years, especially due to the quality of meat and produce; but for months now the produce is horrible! The organic produce is even worse and I eat organic. It's never fresh and in fact most of it is going bad. Plus it's all overpriced. Anyway I'm not going to shop there anymore. Really sad. read more

I have been to other Bel Airs in the area and find this one to be a notch above the others. The staff makes all the difference. The store is clean, well stocked, and the produce section is always fresh. i never see less than fresh fruit or vegetables. It is very well maintained. The trade off is the price is on the more expensive side It's a pleasant and friendly place to shop at. Has the feel of an independent neighborhood market. The deli section is really good. They have the best selection of gourmet cheese I have seen out of all the other chain grocery stores. Their cold pasta salads and other sides are always good. Their Waldorf salad I could eat all day along with their prosciutto pasta salad. They are always fresh and really good. The staff is one the reason i continue to go back. Very friendly and attentive. The cashiers feel like family to me. They always ask how I am doing and seem to genuinely care. Not simple casual conversation but an intimacy you would expect at a small neighborhood store. I would recommend this store. If you take advantage of the sales it is a lot more competitive but otherwise is a bit on the pricey side. read more

Bel-Air is damn expensive, I do most of my grocery shopping across the street at Winco. There are three things that keep me coming to Bel-Air, Its-It ice cream sandwiches, meat, and cheeses. I need my Its-It, brings me back to my child hood. Every week I buy their deli meat, which I think is the best. I've tried Nugget (usually $5 more for roast beef) and Safeway (precut and $1 less), I've found that Bel-Air's meat has the most flavor. I usually get their roast beef, italian roast beef, and pastrami all of which are $10.50 a pound. I love the fact that they offer me a sample of their meat before I even have to ask. When I'm feeling the need to grill a big fat piece of steak, this is the place to go for 1 1/2" thick pieces. On top of that, the cashiers are so friendly and make conversation with just about everyone. It's nice to be greeted by staff as they walk by, very friendly atmosphere. I think it's funny that even though I only buy one small bag of groceries that they still ask me if I need help bringing it to my car. read more

Always get great service at this Belair. Most recently had an amazing experience with April in the floral department... I ordered balloons and she was so helpful and friendly!! The balloons looked amazing with cute strings and candy. Not to mention that I was in a hurry when I came to pick up and they were right there waiting for me. I had to make a choice: Walmart and the interesting assortment of people and (even though they are getting better, baby steps) slow lines or Winco and their bag it yourself and you either got a killer deal or robbed depending on the product type of enviornment. I chose Winco because I was in a bad mood was likely to try to slap the stupid right out of someone. As I drove I looked left and saw Bel Air and passed the first parking lot entrance Then had an epiphany, of sorts. Why deal with a lack of customer service OR potential prison time? So I swerved into the sicied lane and gunned it, just making the turn into the parking lot. For those familiar with Bel Air they have a tendance to be more expensive than the discount grocers but not as expensive as Trader Joes or the like. Long story short: I got my milk WAY more expensive than the other places of consideration BUT I scored on cheap brand name sode. All in all I think I actually paid less than going else where. The place was clean, friendly, and dare I say well dressed (or dressed at all) and clean employees. The last thing I wanted to do was stand in line, especially after a long day at work. I happened to stop by to purchase flowers for a family member, that by chance was getting surgery. The flower shop was closed for the night, after waiting in line for over five minites to check out, the customer in front of me coincidently, happened to be an employee that came in on his day off. After waiting, he took the initiative to walk to another isle and get another emploeyee to help out. I might have misspelled his name, after being ifnormed multiple times the correct way to spell his name was Shaun. (Sorry if I misspelled it). Thank you for making my visit to Belair a lot quicker than requesting a speedy service! read more

Their produce department is less than desirable. Their fresh basil is put in the middle island next to the tomatoes where it sits and welts throughout the day; instead of being put in the refrigerated wall area where it can retain its freshness. Their heirloom tomatoes are 9 times out of 10 weeping and oozy. Their apples are about 7 out of 10 have bruise marks on them. Their water timers need to be redone because all of their herbs are water logged. Their cilantro is always soaked with too much water to the point where it's mush. I'm almost thinking of driving 15 minutes more out of my way just to shop at the Nugget in Roseville and buy their produce. read more

This store has gone downhill! Please, please, please correct. I normally love this store but now there are many new faces and possibly new mgmt not caring for the store. It's dirty; the eat-in area next to Peet's had trash/dirt on all tables and on the floor, chairs and tables were all disorganized, behind the counter there were grounds, beans and trash all over the floor - all of this attracting flies. Trash bins were so full it was difficult for me to put my trash in. The whole deli area was apperantly out of forks or employees did not want to go get them. Many aisles/shelves were in disarray. The small Raley's coffee bags looked like someone threw them on the shelf, there was a bag of half-eaten doughnuts on the potato chip shelf. And amidst all of this the employees are chatting with each other or with other folks behind counters, not knowinhg answers to simple questions like "Can I pay here", texting or wandering around. I could go on but I think I've made my point. Managers, please review your camera feed and fix this store; it is no longer conducive to the pleasant shopping experience it has previously been known for. read more
