I really enjoy shopping at this Bel Air because it's reliable, well organized, and consistently well stocked with everything I need. I usually stop by in the evenings, and it's rarely crowded, which makes the whole experience calm and stress-free. I also want to give a special shout-out to one of the cashiers -- I can't remember his name, but he has awesome tattoos and is always incredibly friendly with such a warm, pleasant attitude. I am so happy :) I came in tonight after work knowing I may take a bit to find some things I needed for cooking. I asked a worker named Mercedes and she helped me with everything :)) it felt like I was in and out! She stuck with me finding all the ingredients I needed so fast and in an orderly fashion so we weren't going back and forth. She also made it so my bill was much cheaper than I thought it would be! I had a wonderful experience at Belair Mrkt in Rocklin recently. The owner/vintner of "French Selection", wine from Chateau du Martret in France was there showcasing his wine. The bottles of wine I purchased were signed by the vintner on-site and a beautiful post card of the Chateau with all historical information printed on the back. Perfect for gift giving! The Cab was the best I have had in 20 years! You need to try this wine, it will not disappoint! I applaud you Raleys/Belair for upping your game in what is usually just a mundane weekly shopping chore! Having this professional vintner on site, who actually makes the wine, sets you apart from other stores and makes you more competitive! read more

Today on 10/2/25 at approximately 2:30 pm I encountered a disrespectful employee at the Bel Air Market in Rocklin on Sunset Ave. As I was waiting in line to get my groceries checked out, an employee from a separate check out counter offered me to move over to his line. I responded, no thanks, I'll wait here. At that moment I observed a bagger from the same line shake his head at the employee that asked me to move over. During the process of getting my groceries checked out, that same bagger came over to my line and started putting my items into bags. As soon as I was ready to leave, I asked the bagger if he had a problem with me not coming over to the other line to get checked out ? He replied, No. I then asked him why did you rudely shake your head then at your fellow employee ? He replied yes I did and I'm sorry. I then told him you need to treat customers with more respect. Over the years of shopping at Bel Air, I've seen a drastic decline of competent employees. There's a trend of rude and non personable employees being hired. The hiring practices at this location definitely needs immediate attention ! read more

I am actually shocked at the negative reviews about this location. I've always had a positive experience, the food is always fresh. I've never gotten anything expired or bad here in four years of shopping. The employees here ALWAYS go above and beyond for me, but today in particular I wanted to show special gratitude to Gaila? I think her name was in the deli. I haven't been feeling good due to health issues and had been craving this chicken salad they used to make a few years ago that they don't have anymore (Dill chicken salad Raleys-being it back!) When I asked her about it- she enthusiastically said she could make it for me and did. I am SO appreciative for that gesture she had no idea. I really hope she sees this or someone sees this and she gets some recognition, because I haven't been able to eat anything in weeks, and because of her, I ate today. I live by Raleys, but they totally gross me out because they leave two week old expired stuff on the shelves in the meat department so I thought I would go to this Bel-Air... It was OK, but I was going to get some sliced meat and I put my order in at the deli and then got totally grossed out by the guy that was gonna cut it and told him to stop and also this nauseous smelling fish smell... Don't want to smell rotten fish when I'm getting some lunch meat. At least the Raleys have their meat and deli separate ( the one by my house) I did see something about the rudeness of the employees on another post and this one isn't necessarily pointed out at this Bel-Air, but at most of Raleys, I have encountered nasty employees... I don't really like Safeway's meat but their employees are top-of-the-line... they actually help you if they see you struggling with finding something... May have to take my business back there. Also, we have Trader Joe's not too far away now, so will be taking my business there also. Totally love that they have so many people ready to check you out instead of having to help yourself... Especially at Bel-Air and Raleys because their prices are so overinflated. I mean my son and I just go in there and totally laugh. read more

I had came into this location at 4:18pm yesterday. All I got was a Christmas card, when I was checked out by the self service employee I had accidentally hit "cash back" when following the prompts without realizing it. The employees cash drawer opened but he immediately closed it and did not give me cash and I walked out because again I hadn't realized I hit "cash back". After getting home and checking my account I had realized they took $63 from my account when all I got was a Christmas card so now they stole $50 of my hard earned money. I have reported this to my bank but I expect better from bel air, I'll never return to this location because of this. read more

I also gas up at the pump and after spending over $300.00 I should have received 50 cents a gal saving but I only got 25 cents. I have no idea why. Not the first time either. The store is porley managed, and the staff is dismisseve to customers complaints. They are more concerned with being right then making the customer happy. Tonight I tried to make a purchase, and the only option with self checkout. I Attempted to buy one can of beer and was informed that I would have to purchase that through a separate transaction. I made a comment to the checker that raley's policies we're ridiculous to which he responded this is Bel Air we're a separate company. I replied that they are owned by the same company. Instead of being empathetical he radioed for his manager, when the manager arrived he did nothing to assist me. No one offered to ring up my groceries. No apologies, I wound up leaving. Bella in the bakery is so great! She was very helpful and sweet. She made ordering super easy and had the cake ready so I could pick it up early as requested. I used to love this store. Now, you have to fight with the app to find the sale information. It's it a digital coupon? Regular sale? Coupon sale? It's hard to tell. I spend too much time trying to figure out how to get the sale price. Sometimes I don't buy the item. Other times i wait until i checkout and let the checker spend the time and do the work. I never use self checkout, as we need cashiers to save jobs. I tried calling corporate, but got cut off after 20 minutes of holding. Raleys/Bel Air has gone way down hill. Bel Air (at least this location) suffers from generally unhelpful / flat emotion staff and at times even rude namely the self checkout attendees. Twice the same issue occurred wherein I was waiting patiently for the attendant to finish helping someone so he could ring up my bottle of wine. The attendant conversed with what appeared to be his friend for several minutes after helping him while I sat and waited. On another occasion he began ringing up an item for me, then stopped in the middle of it without context and started talking to a lady. I proceeded to ask him "should I come back later?" partially annoyed, he finished ringing me up, didn't even say a word to me. Another checker nearby apologized on my way out which I appreciated. There is rarely more than one or two checkout stands open (probably due to cost cutting / under staffing) which forces most people into the agonizing self checkout which always has a variety of issues while you wait for the irritable checkout attendant to "help you" do what Bel Air won't staff people to do any longer. Another day, we came in to buy pre-made pizza crust, but they had mold on them. We told an employee and he thanked us. We went in the next day and the moldy pizza crusts were still there! I also get that inflation is pervasive at the moment, but Bel Air seems to have prices akin to Whole Foods. We've began skipping BA all together and going to Nugget down the road and Trader Joe's. Nugget has a premium experience and friendly staff and TJs staff are second to none as well. read more

I will revise this when Raleys understands that employees who are not watched like a hawk by upper management are friendlier happier and more productive= +$$$! Raleys is micromanaging their checkers to ensure we're charged for every single bag used. They track checkers by percentage, for compliance. This holds up the line as groceries must be bagged, then you pay the total. Trust them enough to estimate! Baggers & checkers have a flow and this interrupts it. It also takes away from the relationship with the customer. Self checkout skews your stats because customers incorrectly enter the # of bags used plus the bag dispensers suck. You cannot grab one bag and open it. Five others stick to it and if you're in a hurry, they're coming along for the ride! If you want to save money, make thinner bags. Most people forget their fabric hippie bags at home anyway, so charging for bags is not the greatest idea for saving the planet. Having happy employee will make you money. Management takes care of employees so employees can take care of your shoppers. Don't mess with that. Be a great leader and employees will be loyal and follow you into battle. read more

I should at least call to see if some kind soul had turned it in (with a 5% chance of that ever happening) I called and spoke with Eric who was super cool and said "well, what did you purchase?" Out of all the grocery store sandwiches I've tried Bel Air Sandwiches are my favorite! I'm a fan of grocery store sandwiches compared to regular sandwich spots, I think they're a better deal at Bel Air & what's cool is they make your sandwich right in front of you. My favorite here is the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich because it's so colorful. Also, it's so great too coming in the morning & getting a fresh $0.89 bagel :). They will literally walk you to an item you are looking for or try their best to help you find the item. Bel Air has always been our go to store. unfortunately the quality of fresh produce has gone down significantly. I was shopping yesterday and purchased some grapes, three pack of tomatoes, and a five pound bag of potatoes. over half of the grapes were bad and two of the potatoes were rotten, also one of the tomatoes was bad. I know if I returned them they would be replaced. However, replacement is not the issue. having to go through the hassle of returning them is. Nugget Market unit pricing is more expensive but, you can eat 100% of what you purchase. Moving forward, if the quality does not improve I will have no choice but to shop elsewhere. read more

Customer Service is gone! There is no customer service counter anymore to go to with your concerns or questions. There was one checker today on Monday morning that left the self check out is the only other option. I'm not trained on how to work here, I'm just a customer. So when I asked the lady in charge of self check out how to do my oranges, she scolded me and tried to train me on how to look for the item number, and input it . I did not realize I was on the clock. At least 10 people in line behind me. Shouldn't they open up another checkout lane? read more

I've shopped at this Bel Air supermarket for 30 years and have always had great service from their staff. Quality of produce has been very good, meat department has been very good as well with the staff willing to accommodate special cuts of roasts or steaks. I would like to see a larger fresh seafood selection if possible. But, I think Rocklin may be more of a meat and potatoes community, LOL! Since the CoVid-19 pandemic, their stock of paper products seems to be inconsistent and many basic products such as yeast or canned soups and other canned products have been hard to find on their shelves. Here's hoping that inventory improves as the "panic" levels off. Keep up the great work, Raley's/Bel Air. read more

Update: went back because I have no other options to go to for a bathroom break or a sandwich when I am working in the neighborhood and short on time. Anyways, I use self check out, I finish ringing my self up, and then I realize that I need a bag. So, I then ask the woman working at the self checkout area if I could have a bag. She says no because bags can't be bought with food stamps.................? I've never had food stamps before in my life. I was holding my Chase bank card. It's funny how this woman is always so nice to all the white customers but every time I come, she always glares at me. This woman gives literally everyone a warm goodbye but deliberately gives me a mean look each visit. But actually, all of the staff glares at me in this fashion often times because I'm different from the rest of the customers (different meaning black). Rocklin is not very diverse. Majority of its population is white which is fine. However, I am always reacted to VERY differently whenever I visit this store; especially compared to the pleasant reactions every single WHITE person in the store receives. I am very educated, honest, caring, hardworking, and I am definitely NOT some kind of criminal just because my skin is a different color than everyone else's. Every time I come to this store I am harassed and profiled. However, since I am a delivery driver for this wonderful community I cannot afford to go somewhere further to use the restroom while I am on the clock serving everyone. I am so happy to take a risk and deliver packages to a community during a pandemic and then have the people of that community harass me while I use the restroom. It really makes me feel warm inside knowing someone is right outside the door waiting for me to come out of the restroom simply because I am black. Every single time I visit this store I encounter some form of racism. Some of the incidents are more subtle than others; but, there is nothing subtle about a white woman immediately assuming that I am unable to make any purchase without an EBT card. read more

Went to go pick up a couple groceries tonight and saw at least 10 people shopping without masks on, some of which were congregated by the restrooms to take advantage of them while out looking at Christmas lights. Employees made no effort to tell customers they needed to be wearing masks. This is not the first time I've seen them allow people to shop without masks. An overpriced grocery store like this is not worth getting Covid from. I will not be shopping here again. read more

It was very clean & neat, nice presentation & selection. All employees here were friendly & welcoming. The beer & soda section was all behind glass doors, have not seen that. All stocked & organized, visually appealing. Glad I stopped here this morning, bought a lot more that I had planned. Even got my cash back at the self checkout, love that, saved me a trip to the atm. I picked up a steak on Monday with a five minute drive home. The steak was immediately refrigerated. I brought it out on Wednesday and opened it up. I noticed a bad odor but the steak looked fine. I turned the steak over to fined it dark grey. Red on one side and grey on the other, hm! It had a sell by day of 10/23/14. I would like to add a photo I took. The week prior, I had brought to the attention of one of the meat stockers a obviously spoiled (grey) steak. I cannot trust this store. So disappointing. Pulled into to gas pumps. Found out after parking, that the scanner for a $.50/gallon discount, I went inside and was informed that pump 11 scanner doesn't work. He laughed when I asked if he thought about putting a sign on the pump to let other drivers know... We went inside the store to purchase a few things. There were zero checkouts open, so we headed to self-checkout. We entered our customer number & proceeded to scan & place items in bagging area. Milk ok - vitamins ok - Cranapple juice - nope! Clerk comes over and says "you didn't scan properly, are you trying to steal it?" Yup sweetie, I always try to smuggle juice Insert ATM card, machines buzzes & says remove card. Clerk runs over and says "You people are always screwing up these machines!"
