There was some kind of emergency at the store tonight and there were fire trucks and it was closed. I walked up to throw something in the trash. As I walked by a firefighter who was taking all his gear off told me the store was closed. I said thank you and that I just needed to throw something away. He just smiled as I continued to walk to the trash can in front of the store. Before I could get there a Bel Air employee who was standing there with about 4 other employees starts yelling at me to leave. I told her I just needed to throw something away. She starts screaming and coming toward me that I had to leave now. I asked if there was a trash can I could use and he just kept yelled at us to leave now and waving he hands at us. I walked away with my son who is now terrified. As we walk past the other entrance another employee was standing there alone. My son asked him what happened. This employee nicely said there was an incident but that everything was going to be ok, that he didn't need to worry and he wished us a Merry Christmas. I'm so glad there was one kind employee that was nice enough not to scare my kid. There's no way she was yelling at me for my safety either. There were 5 employees standing at the entrance with her. Had there been some kind of imminent danger they would not have been there and the firefighter wouldn't have allowed me to continue walking toward the store. I have never been treated so rudely and by the previous reviews sounds like I am not alone. I will be avoiding this store in the future. read more

We love our neighborhood Bel-Air! SUPER fans of bakery and deli! Home cook, always on mission for FRESH and unique items. Produce selection is vast, with huge organic selection. Almost have Hubby ready for MOSTLY vegetarian lifestyle! Deli always has great selection, ESPECIALLY when needing to pick up something for a picnic/potluck and my busy schedule did not allow for home prep! Floral department is decent, and the Peet's counter is always a plus. LOVE running into friends here every time we go, and that many checkers/courtesy clerks are former and current athletes we've coached at our High School. Great location, two thumbs up! read more

I've shopped at Bel Air on Sunset for decades and have always been pleased with customer service at check out, bakery, post office. Lately the produce is not so good. The organic kale was limp and there was an only three leaves in the bunch. Husks on the corn on the cob is dry and brown and looks old. Zucchini is soft and pitted, not fresh only 3 or 4 there. Bel Air has fresh produce, a great meat selection (I love the Gorgonzola burgers in the meat case) and everything else you would expect and need from a grocery store. My least favorite supermarket in Rocklin. They have very nice customer service - which is great - but I have always had bad luck buying produce here. I'm talking about both organic and non-organic .. it's been really sub-par every time, and after it happening for the fifth straight time I'm writing this review. You need to put someone up front with some actual authority or who is going to do their job... I was there at 12:30 this afternoon and he let a woman storm right past him screaming "NO" when told of the mask requirement to enter. All he could do was stutter, as I am sure this is an almost impossible job when dealing with this type of person. This is so disgusting and unsafe for the employees and those shopping. Some people have compromised immune systems and it sickens me others are so selfish. She could have been asymptomatic and infected him and everyone around her while yelling. I am ashamed to say I live in an area where people do not understand public health. I will no longer shop here, as there are many other stores nearby that take people's health seriously. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store if you actually care about you and your family's health. They even wear shirts that proclaim health is a priority... give me a break. read more

I like them for their cleanliness, friendly service and convenient location (Walking distance) to my house. I usually only shop there, if I only need one or two items or want to pick up a movie at the Redbox machine (Located inside). We do the majority of our food shopping at several other stores. Those stores are more affordable. Bel Air stores are generally more expensive than other stores. Otherwise, I really like their stores. read more

First of all, let me start of with, Cindy and Debbie who work the mail center/ customer service are 5 Star employees. They are always friendly and have great customer service skills. The same also goes to the guys in the meat and produce department. Now as far as the deli goes, I just skip it now and drive down to Conte Brothers in Sac for my deli needs. The deli is so understaffed that if they are making sandwiches, plan on waiting forever to get someone to slice meat or get you a deli salad. It also seems that many times when I'm in, that they only have one employee working and they're usually making sandwiches. My major complaint though is with the older woman that works the floral department. If I could give her zero stars, I would. She is just rude, rude, rude! I'm in the store on a regular basis dropping off items for the mail center which is next to the floral department. I have viewed her for a couple of months now at least twice a week and her interaction with customers is not good. The other day a customer asked about a corsage and the clerk gave a big sigh and told her that it takes time...in other words, she didn't want to do it. When she's talking to other employees, she always seems to be complaining about something about the store. She's hit me with her cart one time when I was standing in line for the mail center and just kept going! She's not a very customer service oriented employee! read more

The other day I actually went to Safeway since it was on the way home, and left after 5 minutes and drove to my beloved Bel Air. This is my local Bel-Air, and I live right next to it. I am here at least 3 times a week, and the staff is spectacular! They always remember the regulars, and go out of their way to help you. I typically don't get stuff from the deli, as most delis in grocery stores are kinda nasty. The prices are higher than say Wal-Mart or Safeway, but I go here for the convenience. read more

I have been shopping at Bel Air Rocklin since I moved to Rocklin in February 1999. I can't say enough about this particular store and the team that serves our community. Of course, Johnny has to be my favorite clerk. He is incredibly friendly and remembers his customer's names. I love that! Makes me feel like I am home. I drive past two grocery stores to get to this store ... on a near-daily basis. I so enjoy seeing the kids in my community come in as courtesy clerks in high school and before they go off to college. Did I mention the music. Yep, they keep it real. None of that fake music stuff which obviously keeps us suburban moms bouncing to the beat. Did I mention the team at the postal office. Amazing! Been there since the beginning of time, I think. They are helpful, efficient, and keep on smiling through all those crazy shipping questions. Certainly many of them were working this space before EBAY and AMAZON. But, they are certainly experts on how to roll, fold, squeeze, and seal any number of packages. Went to the store to grab some groceries and made the first stop at the deli, with a sign on the counter that says open daily 6am - 9pm and it was 8:10pm and the way I was greeted was,"The deli is closed." The girl behind the counter named Savannah was rude and I had pointed out that the sign says until 9pm and her response once again was,"No the deli is closed." A clerk named Sonja was near by who knows me by name and I asked her what's the deal with the deli and she asked Savannah if the slicer was already cleaned and was told yes and I was told sorry Jenn. So for working parents like myself that have kids in sports and other responsibilities to tend to and I can finally make it to the store around 8pm to be told the deli is closed is unacceptable. You should change the sign if that's the case. I stopped shopping at another local store for the same issue and tonight my son and I left to go shop at The Nugget where they gladly greeted us and helped us with our deli needs. read more

I usually go into Bel Air for only two things: the post office and the Wells Fargo ATM. As a grocery store, this thing needs work. Having the post office is way convenient because the other one is clear on the other side of town. But overall the store is very dated, small and the selection is not to my liking. That said, the staff here has always been very nice and helpful when I have been in there. The people deserve high marks, but Raleys needs to invest some cash into updating this place. Unlike some other comments, I actually like having the self-checkout. If you need something quick, it's usually a very fast way to checkout. read more

Butchers seem unhappy to assist customers. Got some ribs and asked for some rub on them. At first he refused then told us to buy already marinated ribs. When I asked for the rub again he asked us if we had BBQ sauce and we said yes - but we still wanted the rub. He said well the ribs are frozen and the rub won't stick. I said it will be fine since we are defrosting them for dinner. He took them in the back with another butcher dressed all in black and they stared out at us waiting the whole time they put the rub on. When we got home and unwrapped the ribs they had at most 1/8 teaspoon rub on both racks. Where has customer service gone? Definitely not in the butcher department at Bel Air off Stanford Ranch Rd. We will not shop there again - customer lost - soon no Bel Air. read more

Shopped there often,but today I purchased 3 packages of baby back ribs and 2 of the 3 were bad and I mean real bad smell went throughout my house right when I opened packages.I called one 800 number and they connected me to manager and he doesn't know how to express empathy And wanted me to bring the stinky ribs back into store,so I called 1-800 number and guys said he couldn't help cause of manager says to bring them back then thats what we have to do.So put smelly ribs into my car so now not only do I have to get smell out of my house I have to get out of clothes and my car.I track down manager and he throws bag by rest of go backs and I explained you probably want to get them out of store.He did offer refund ,empathy still lacking and I asked why did I have to bring these back and why couldn't I send a picture and get credit on my rewards account and he said they can't text and I asked if he had an email and he said he did and I said this is a very bad experience and not likely coming back and def never buying ribs here read more

Found this place during a business trip in Sacto. I wanted some milk and snacks. But they had this great selection of unusual soda pops! My husband and I are soda pop fiends. They had all these fantastic flavors like blueberry, apple beer (instead of root beer), kickapoo (lemon lime), Nugrape, Captain Eli's lemon lime, big red, Bubble Up and a huge variety of root beers and other pops local to states across the South and Midwest. We had a lot of fun sipping and trying all of these. They also have cream sodas and grape and orange soda pop too. I will probably check this out again next time I'm in town. Fizzy and fun! This review is specifically for the bakery. I'm not a bell air shopper but decided to order my baby shower cake through Bel Airs bakery and was very pleased. I found a cake in the book they have on display and the associate working informed me that the size cake I wanted doesn't come in that exact style but that she could accommodate and make a sheet cake almost exactly the same style. The price was very reasonable and I ended up getting there earlier than my pick up time and was still able to get the cake. It looked amazing and tasted even better. I highly recommend Bel Air for any bakery needs. read more

My husband and I have been going to Bel Air here in Rocklin for over 14 years. I am completely frustrated with this store. On numerous occasions the products are out dated (including this past Sunday). We had to go to Savemart to complete our shopping due to the insufficient quantity of milk (they were out). We politely informed the cashier. The response was a complete lack for our concern and he proceeded to discuss the break schedule with the person bagging groceries in the line over from us. This is not what Bel Air use to be and am appalled by how disinterested the service has become. Nugget will be getting our future business. read more
