After lunch we needed a pick me up and stoped by Bella's. The place itself is clean and simple, decor is not overwhelming. The hubby ordered a mocha with whipped cream, it was good. I ordered a latte with almond milk and one pump of sf caramel and it was made perfectly. I think the barista made it incorrectly the first time and aaa she read it out she caUght herself and made me the correct one and I'm okay with that. I absolutely love cake so when I tell you that I couldn't even take more than 1 bite because of how astoundingly overly-sweet it was, understand the level of disappointment I felt. Even swallowing the single bite was very difficult. Would be a hard pass for me in the future regarding their cakes. *Breakfast sandwich on an English muffin - basic breakfast fare. Had a decent balance of ingredients, eggs were fluffy, and the sandwich piping hot. If eating in, be aware that this is a self-service cafe like many bakeries. read more

I would eat anything they serve, it all looked so good. I got the croissant bread pudding, it looked like a French toast casserole so I figured it would be great for breakfast. It exceeded my wildest dreams!! It was like creme brûlée and crispy bits of sugary croissant. Never had bread pudding before, it was amazing!! We also tried the pistachio cannoli, the shell was dipped in chocolate and very good. $5 per cannoli is a little high, but it is Calistoga, everything is 50% more than it should be. I also tried a cold brew with added caramel instead of a sweetener, it was way too sweet and got dumped, my bad. read more

I stopped by to get a few pastries and coffee, and enjoyed the blueberry scone, orange-poppyseed croissant, and white mocha. The pastries are on the larger side, and get a thumbs up from me. The white mocha had a good creamy flavor without being overly sweet. I also got the bacon-Asiago quiche: liked the filling, but not the soft crust (1 star off). There are several tables to sit at, but no bathroom for customers. The staff is friendly and efficient, especially when the lines can get long during the mornings. A busy bakery in the heart of Calistoga with an amazing selection of pastries, cookies, sandwiches and quiches. We went for the croissant bread pudding which had perfect mouthfeel and flavor, a berry frangipane tart and a lemon blueberry tart. I didn't notice too much almond flavor in the frangipane and the lemon tart was a bit on the sweet side but the crusts were good. Next time I will be more likely to order the cookies and tea breads/muffins which might be a little less sweet. Still, a nice spot to enjoy quality baked goods and watch the world go by. read more

Friendly service and quick! We ordered the English muffin with butter and jam, a blueberry granola bar with was delicious and I'd drive back just for that!!, some raspberry shortbread cookies and a turkey panini. We were so full! Best part is they had Diet Coke- bakeries never have that! They let me use the restroom which I was grateful for! OH! I bought a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread to take home but haven't tried yet. Can't wait. Warning: they close at 2pm. The employees really care about the business which was refreshing. While visiting Calistoga we got the recommendation to come to this bakery. It is amazing. Everyone was friendly. We got the jalepino pastry, a blueberry pastry and the apricot walnut scone. Cute little bakery located in downtown Calistoga. They weren't busy around 3pm on a Friday, and they still had a good selection of cookies and other baked goods available when we stopped by. Partner got a breakfast sandwich it was tragic what was in the middle. The eggs were a microwaved sitch which is confusing, since they have a griddle. This is the best coffee shop in Calistoga! I stayed in Calistoga for over a month for work so I had my fair share of coffee in this quaint town. 1st of all, I'm a huge coffee enthusiast, I work 12-14 hour days. I start very early. This is the only coffee shop in Calistoga that is open when I need my coffee before work. They are open at 6 am. I'm grateful they are open early so I can be ready for work in time with my fix ready to go. Also, they have yummy breakfast burritos. I called ahead once to put one aside for me before they sold out on the weekend and they were kind enough to do that for me. Their pastries are delicious! I ordered a birthday cake while visiting a nearby resort. It was easy to order exactly what I wanted. The chocolate mousse cake with chocolate shavings was absolutely perfect- fresh and delicious! It wasn't a super-rich or "decadent" chocolate (which I also love) but it was chocolatey. It also wasn't overly sweet (very happy about that). It was a well-balanced, moist, cake with good texture and weight- not too airy, not too dense. The subtle coffee/espresso flavor in the chocolate was a nice enhancement as we are both chocolate lovers. And the shavings gave the contrast crunch to the soft cake and mousse. In the area for Ragnar (a 200 mile relay Run) some of my team and I stopped in here briefly so that I could pick up some treats to take home and at 2pm on a Saturday the cases were pretty bare, not at all like the pictures I saw on here which had me struggle to decide what to get. I had high hopes for the goods though following the rave reviews and settled on an Apple Pecan Bar and an Almond Torta something..? I can't remember the exact name of it but it was something along those lines. I would love to say they were both amazing but.. eh, not so much. My Husband couldn't even eat the Almond Torta as he said the ''chocolate is vile''. I had no real issue with the Chocolate (maybe down to the extremely sweet Apple Pecan Bar numbing my taste buds) but what I did have a problem with was how greasy both of the items were. I was physically able to scrape congealed grease off of the bottom of the Apple Pecan Bar and could feel it on the roof of my mouth after having a small bit of both items. Looking past the grease and overwhelming Sugar content the flavor was actually fairly good but I think I'll pass next time I'm here. read more
