It's a fun space and felt very welcoming. The chilaquiles were fantastic! They make their own hot sauce in house that was a good addition to the dish, along with chorizo. Highly recommend this one. It was also a huge portion and ended up feeding me for two meals. Make sure you get here early to avoid the extremely long lines; we planned to be there right when it opened and by the time we left, there were already people having to wait outside. Worth the wait though!

We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.

This place blew my mind!…read more I have had Burmese food in Los Angeles and San Francisco, even in the famous Burma Superstar, but Ni Burmese was absolutely perfect. It truly felt like a fine dining experience without the fine dining cost. The staff member who served us was delightfully friendly, welcomed us so warmly, and took the time to provide not just service, but a guided experience through the dining journey. Their menu has what appear to be hand-drawn watercolor images on it and it looks like a fancy cookbook (in the style of Salt Fat Acid Heat)! The location is unassuming, but everything inside appears to be so thoughtfully decorated. At the recommendation of our server, we had the Mont Hin Ga (soup) and the Tea Leaf Salad. I was so full, but finished that soup to the very last drop. Tea Leaf Salad is such a unique blend of flavors and textures. The occasional burst of tomato and the crunchy tidbits in it make each bite such a surprise. YUM! Because you only live once, we also had the chicken curry with coconut rice and an iced tamarind juice. Who can say no to coconut rice? And the chicken? So tender, so juicy, so flavorful. I have always been a fan of tamarind, but this is one of the best "aguas de tamarindo" that I have ever had. Also, big shoutout to the Falooda for dessert (even though we were so full, we couldn't resist trying just one more item from their menu). After going home I proceeded to send a friend pictures from Ni Burmese's Yelp page to tell them about how tasty everything was. And my mouth has been watering ever since. Cannot wait to go back - I have my eye on their Spicy and Sour fish. Thank you to the Ni Burmese crew for one of the best meals I've ever had! (I showed someone this review before posting and they said I sound like AI, but I am not - just a delighted eater)

I would like to give this place a 4 1/2 stars…read more The fermented green tea salad was excellent. The establishment was clean, well laid out, and the staff were helpful. They were out of nearly half of their alcoholic beverage offerings, which was a bit odd. I selected the goat curry, which was delicious, but there was very little meat and you really had to dig through the bones for it turning into a dish that took a bit of work to enjoy. However, the flavor profile was on point and they have a one through five spice scale. Be aware this is an Asian spice scale, not a Caucasian spice scale. Two will probably be spicy enough if you're not used to Asian food. My boyfriend got the beef steak dish that he said was filling with the rice. He has a good appetite and was fulfilled. He felt the dish was delicious and a good match of vegetables selected to complement the beef. He thought the flavor was very good.

The inside is so cool and they have darts, slots, pool and basketball. Our server was very nice. We got nachos that were pretty good. The event really packed the place, yet we were able to order food and drinks easily at the bar. Beer wasn't too expensive on tap, the food looked good, and so I decided to order a pizza (thin crust only). It's advertised as house made which I'm sure it is, but their crust isn't anything special. The toppings were good but somewhat light and the ingredients should have went closer to the edges. I'd skip the pizza next time and try something else. Another thing that happened on two occasions is that two separate bartenders responded by saying, "I don't know, I'm just a bartender". Okay, but maybe someone else knows or say it in a different way? One star deduction for that and the pizza. They have an outdoor patio in back and also a parking lot. Inside they have numerous things to keep you busy including darts, free pool, basketball, skee ball, pinball, shuffle board and pull tab machines. It seems like a fun place to hangout and I'll definitely plan to be back.

How can one piece of meat be 1 and 5 star? If you're judging on that, then wow, amazing! I read…read moregood things about the brisket here and found it inside Redbar and was able to grab a seat at the bar. I ordered a beer and decided on Brisket and added a Sausage for 6 bucks. I started cutting into the brisket and was immediately turned off. This was like cutting into a piece of beef jerky. It was try and tough and I shouldn't have even put it in my mouth, but I reluctantly did! Oh wait, this isn't that forum in that adult magazine.... But Yuck Yuck Yuck to that dry meat. Luckily, there was a LOT of brisket so I fished around and cut a piece from the other end and wow... BUTTER! This was some of the juiciest brisket I've had. The fat rendered nicely and it was still meaty. SOOOO good. Yes, this good part was connected to the bad part. The $6 add on for the sausage was pretty good as well, as was the side of Mac n Cheese. With the add on, it's probably a shareable plate for most people, including me these days. Parking is limited as it's kind of in a neighborhood, and the Redbar itself has a locals, dive-bar vibe, which isn't a bad thing. Just something you should know! Cheap beers though!

With only a handful of tables to sit at, we waited a few minutes until a party left. Menus were dropped off promptly with instructions to order drinks & food at the bar. We decided to share the French Onion Dip as an app. Chips were delicious, while the dip had a good, familiar taste. I ordered the smoked sausage platter for my meal. The sausage was spicy & had a wonderful snap. The Mac & cheese flavor was good but had a bit of a gritty consistency. The house pickles were a great palate cleanser. Great spot to enjoy a drink & eat! Will be back to try other offerings.
