It truly felt like a fine dining experience without the fine dining cost. The staff member who served us was delightfully friendly, welcomed us so warmly, and took the time to provide not just service, but a guided experience through the dining journey. Their menu has what appear to be hand-drawn watercolor images on it and it looks like a fancy cookbook (in the style of Salt Fat Acid Heat)! The location is unassuming, but everything inside appears to be so thoughtfully decorated. At the recommendation of our server, we had the Mont Hin Ga (soup) and the Tea Leaf Salad. I was so full, but finished that soup to the very last drop. Tea Leaf Salad is such a unique blend of flavors and textures. The occasional burst of tomato and the crunchy tidbits in it make each bite such a surprise. YUM! Because you only live once, we also had the chicken curry with coconut rice and an iced tamarind juice. Who can say no to coconut rice? And the chicken? So tender, so juicy, so flavorful. I have always been a fan of tamarind, but this is one of the best "aguas de tamarindo" that I have ever had. Also, big shoutout to the Falooda for dessert (even though we were so full, we couldn't resist trying just one more item from their menu). After going home I proceeded to send a friend pictures from Ni Burmese's Yelp page to tell them about how tasty everything was. And my mouth has been watering ever since. Cannot wait to go back - I have my eye on their Spicy and Sour fish. Thank you to the Ni Burmese crew for one of the best meals I've ever had! I selected the goat curry, which was delicious, but there was very little meat and you really had to dig through the bones for it turning into a dish that took a bit of work to enjoy. However, the flavor profile was on point and they have a one through five spice scale. Be aware this is an Asian spice scale, not a Caucasian spice scale. Two will probably be spicy enough if you're not used to Asian food. My boyfriend got the beef steak dish that he said was filling with the rice. He has a good appetite and was fulfilled. He felt the dish was delicious and a good match of vegetables selected to complement the beef. He thought the flavor was very good.
