Ordered a raspberry heart cookie with my latte today and the cookie was not edible. The raspberry filling was so dried out and old and stale that you couldn't even cut through the cookie with a knife let alone bite into it. What was worse was the attitude by the staff behind the counter. When I took it to them, the woman with a heavy accent argued that it was me and that maybe I just didn't like it. The other younger woman offered to refund or replace it with something else. So I chose an oatmeal raisin cookie which ended up as stale and gross. I had to throw it away. This pastry shop should be ashamed to serve old & stale pastries and treat customers in such a rude way. There's nothing French about this place. Because of Belle Pastry, my father learned the gender of my baby from a receipt on a box of his gender reveal pastries he picked up from them. Insane incompetence. I spoke with them on the phone 5 separate times about making GENDER REVEAL pastries for my father to pick up because I do not live there. I must have said I don't live there and that they are a GENDER REVEAL therefore a SURPRISE at least 5 separate times. I was instructed to have him pick up the gender reveal pastries after 10am. An employee even called me THE DAY OF to ask when I was picking them up and I again reminded them very clearly that I am not picking them up, my FATHER is picking up the gender reveal pastries because I do not live there. He arrived 30 minutes later and what does he pick up? A box with a note saying exactly this: "Individual blueberry cream cheese croissants (done like raspberry cream cheese croissants)." Unbelievable. The surprise is ruined. I might as well have asked my assistant to Instagram message the gender of my baby to my dad. That would have been more personal. Instead he learned from a receipt for croissants that he was forced to pick up because this bakery refused to deliver it to them. So my father who I haven't seen in over a year because of the COVID risk, risked his health to go in an enclosed space and pick up these pastries, because again they would not deliver them. Then, apparently no one could find the pastries for him because they wrote my first name on the box and not my last name, even though I said approximately 5 separate times that my father was the one picking up the pastries. After all the confusion, they finally gave him this box, where my father learned the gender of my baby on a croissant receipt. Speaking to the manager, she said she will refund me the price of the croissants. That they're only offering that is shocking. A momentous life event completely destroyed by these people. read more

Belle Pastry has been serving the Old Downtown Bellevue on Main Street for more years than I can remember. The current location is its bigger and newer shop. I like the expanded savory options. Sweets! My favorite is the Opera Cake, then chocolate croissant, then maybe a mandolin. It is a French bakery after all. The cakes are quite rich, so I've never tried to buy the whole cake for a birthday or some such occasion. I've only had cake slices. Savory My favorites are their quiches. For grins, I tried their gluten free quiche during this visit, which is a quiche without the puff pastry. To my surprise, I liked it!! It tasted lighter, healthier, and it has more filling, which is my favorite part anyway. This option was a salmon one. I'm definitely getting more of that in the future. I'm a bit disappointed with this place. It's a really quant little shop that has European vibes in the heart of Old Town Bellevue. From the outside and even inside, you'd think it would be super delicious and relaxing for a weekend morning. Unfortunately, their iced americano wasn't very good, their breakfast croissant was sad, and they turkey sandwich had the hardest artesian bread I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, I've had a bad experience as so many other yelpers. Long story short- the ground is so icy today I didn't want to drive to belle to try their macarons, so I decided to use doordash. After trying to order 4 or 5 times but continually getting the same weird message (something about the store has so many orders, no more deliveries can be made), I just called them. The person who answered said the owner would be in shortly and I could call back to speak to them. I did as she instructed and the man that answered spoke to the owner on my behalf and said I'd need to call doordash to handle it. Called doordash and went back and forth for awhile but we finally figured it out. I got a total of 14 macarons, but when my order came, there were only 10. When I called belle to notify them of this, the girl said somebody must not have scrolled down on the page and missed the rest of the order... then it got awkward because she didn't offer much of a resolution. Oh, also before my 10 came I got a call saying they were out of one of the favors I had ordered so I switched them out for one they had. Then when I called back to say items were missing, she told me they also didn't have the flavors I didn't get delivered because they quit offering it. Cool. In the end nearly an hour later I got the missing macarons but unfortunately none of them were very good. Super inconsistent with either way too crispy and old tasting or very soft and falling apart, and finally so chewy I couldn't finish them. The flavors were also... weird. Sweet tooth paradise! This French Bakery has been in old Bellevue downtown for a while. This is always the go-to dessert shop my friends and I choose. They have a pretty good selection of pastries and cakes. My favorite has been the pear caramel mousse, a little bitter and not overly sweet. I just recently discovered the royal is pretty good, the dark chocolate mousse. Today, I had the royal and Americano. My daughter had the creme brûlée, which the custard tastes like actually eggs & milk. They were both delicious. As for the prices, it's so decent compared to some of the competitors around the area. Just stopped by the French Bakery next to Just Poke, their pastries were around $10.. which we said no. You can have the cakes here for a half of the price. Yes!! Highly recommended! I would not return and will not recommend. I got a tea and realized I didn't receive a sleeve, I asked for one and she dropped it on the table. Maybe put them in places individuals can reach them easily so we don't have to bother you? I would recommend training staff on treating all customers the same and not based on their skin color. Do not recommend this business at all! I ordered peach crumble and raspberry Napoleon. Found hair on one of the pastry, the peach crumble was not fresh at all, same for the Napoleon. The pastry on the Napoleon were soft and gooey! And when I asked to get another one, it was the same and the server took my fork. I was in the neighborhood today and decided I NEEDED some macarons from Trophy cupcakes and bakery. Got there and realized that they were closed and that's my little story of how I discovered this gem! The interior is super cute and spacious, I'm sure it was a very lively place before quarantine. I ordered a blueberry tartlet, raspberry tartlet, and some pistachio and raspberry macarons. The macarons were a bit inconsistent in their shape and size but delicious nonetheless! The blueberry tartlet was a bit tooooo sweet for my liking but the raspberry hit the spot perfectly! I read some of the reviews and noticed people recommending the almond pear tartlet, so next time I'll surely be ordering that! Pistachio is my favorite flavor in macarons and the consistency and texture of it was perfect. The Raspberry flavor was good but tasted a bit stale, with a crunchy hard exterior instead of the marshmallow-y bite a macaron usually has. Really glad to have found another high quality bakery so close to home. If you like binge-watching Food network baking shows, definitely recommend you check this place out! I've come here several times. Not coming back. Never met a more depressive group of employees at a café (or any restaurant for that matter). Either the manager has no idea how to train their employees on customer service, or there's something wrong with their employee culture, or they've hired some quite awful folks. Got a slice of Black Forest cake and a chocolate cream roll, and was super disappointed. The Black Forest cake was super dry and hard and felt like it had been sitting out for days. Last time we visited yesterday, Google said they are open until 7pm. We were there sometime 5:50pm or something. Ordered some pastries and coffee they handed over to us in to go boxes about 6:05pm and said please head out your way as we are closed already 5 mins. When I said that well Online sources were saying you are open until 7pm you did not warn us when we were ordering, guess what was the answer? (I know ). I've been here before, and my experience was fine...but NOT this time. I went in on October 4th, planning to pick up some fruit tarts and creme brulee's for my sister's birthday. I bought two creme brulees and two fruit tarts. When the person behind the counter picked up the creme brulees, I noticed that they were a bit watery, but I thought nothing of it. Apparently, they had just made the creme brulees. Anyone with common sense, and especially anyone who works at a bakery should know that creme brulees need to set in the refrigerator for at LEAST few hours, if not more. I don't know what was going through the people who worked there when they set out these UNDER COOKED CREME BRULEES to sell. They didn't even warn me, and just boxed up those watery creme brulees with the fruit tarts. Of course, upon returning home and opening up the box, the desserts were RUINED. The creme brulees were so liquidy that they had spilled ALL over the box. Not only were my creme brulees ruined, my fruit tarts were ruined too because they were in the same box. It was a disgusting, sticky, terrible mess. Seriously. Who sells an under cooked creme brulee to a customer and then acts like everything is going to be fine??! Ugh. AND those desserts are hella expensive! Such a waste of money. And my plans to give them to my sisters 20th birthday were ruined. Thanks a lot Belle Pastry. What a disappointment. I've been a few times at the old location & always thought it was good. But this time, wow. Not that busy. In fact the employees were standing around chatting. So the problems: all the available tables were dirty, sticky, left plates. Next, the woman at the counter was rude, not helpful, to personality at all. Trying to rush us when they're not even busy. Another issue, bathroom was dirty. And most importantly the food was disappointing. The chocolate on the eclair was so sweet! My daughter took the chocolate off!! Visited this place for the first time, not to mention - kind of excited. But as soon as we step in, the "Barista" dude (Asian) was the rudest person ever. Not even a "Hello", but instead picked on my 2 year old son for not wearing a mask. Well - folks sitting a few steps away from me weren't wearing a mask either. I believe the mask requirement only applies to those older than 2. Anyways, staff members during night shift are not friendly. Total rude bunch of people with no customer service experience at all.
