It way to long to have them look at my truck for new brakes which they installed three weeks ago then have my brakes lock up. They gave me a long list of things to repair. I took it to 3 different Mechanic shops. They told me nothing was wrong and nothing needed to be replaced. read more

This place is I feel like a hit and miss. The reason I did give it a 5 stars is because of an employee named Russell. He was fantastic! Not being super knowledgable about car parts and stuff, he was super helpful and nice in explaining what they found that needed to be replaced. Also he kept in mind the prices and gave me options on how much I wanted to spend in replacement parts. What's even better is he quoted me a time in how long it would take and made sure that it was done by the quoted time! He also kept coming out and giving me updates on the status of my car. They told me my strut was bent -- the only reason I went is because I couldn't drive home for my uncle (who is a mechanic) to look at it. I stayed at a friends house for three weeks when my uncle finally looked at it and the only thing wrong was my H frame. That wasn't the worst part Bell Tire wanted $2,300 in repair -which is more than what my car is worth- before they gave me an alignment. My uncle fixed my H frame for no cost out of either of our pockets. read more

What A Trip!!! We went to BT today to get a tire looked at/screw removed/fixed. We had also noticed that there was an inordinate amount of wear considering the age of the tires, and we wanted to get their opinion on this. We originally purchased the tires here back in December of 2013 and only have 26K miles on a 60K mile rated tire as of now. At this rate, we are concerned that these tires won't last another year, let alone to 60K. So we tried to discuss this with the technician and he was VERY quick to blame it all on the shocks we had on the truck. We had some on previoysly that gone bad and had to be replaced. He said that they were the reason the tires were cupping and wearing badly at such an early stage. He said he could see we'd been religious about the care we took of our tires but said that, even though the manufacturer wasn't standing behind these tires AND there were many unhappy customers in the world about these tires, the only thing we could do was to replace these tires for 4 brand new ones and, just to be safe, we should replace the shocks to ensure the new tires had the best treatment from the start. The thing is that we have had this brand of tire on our truck before (BF Goodrich) with outstanding results. Clearly there is a problem with these tires. Others are commenting on this as well on the Internet, so we were hoping BT would stand behind a product that they suggested and sold us. Nope! They pushed and pushed us to spend money on new tires from some other country. All they seemed to want to do was up-sell us into new tires! At 26K miles....I don't think so. If we have to end up replacing these tires before 60K miles, it will not be through BT...it will be with another company who values its customers.... read more

I called at 8 am (right when they open) and asked if they could get my car in right away to get fixed if I came right then. I was told YES and it would take 2-3 hours. I went in and dropped off my keys to the man I had my car checked on Friday. I go to sit in the waiting room. 4 hours waiting for my car I ask. I figure they would be done. They said they just started and said they thought I dropped it off. First off my mom called on Friday said I couldn't bc I'm up at college. Maybe they forgot fine. But I was in VIEW in the sitting area. The man knew my face bc he checked me in and remembered from Friday. 5 hours and 40 min my car was done. When I was done they forgot fully of the battery check I asked for. Good thing it only takes about 2 minutes. Not really apologetic when checking out and I missed my college classes. I'm upset that they didn't tell me the truth or didn't tell me the time changed for waiting. read more

I would never ever go here again I ordered a certain rim that was suppose to be silver and came back 2 days later to a set of black rims on my tires!??!?! I was furious so they told me I could wait another day to get the rims I originally ordered.......I can't imagine what else they are doing wrong when they can't get the color of a rim right. We took my son's car to Belle Tire because it had a significant shake on the front passenger side of the vehicle. I normally would have taken it to the mechanic we use on a regular basis, however, we didn't want to wait a week to get it in to be seen. After taking a look at it they gave me an estimate that totaled $1400.00. I was shocked! I am a single mother and this type of money is hard to come by. This estimate included wheel bearings, brake pads, rotors, bushings, a stabilizer bar, sway bar, fixing a transaxle leak, struts as well as of course the labor to install all of these items. We decided to take it to our regular mechanic and get a second opinion. Thank goodness we did too. Come to find out the motor mount had broken and was resting on the axle and this was causing the shake. None of the items they mentioned in the initial estimate needed to be repaired/replaced. It ended up costing me $330.00 to have this replaced at my regular mechanic (a savings of over $1000.00). These people are crooks and shady as can be. I will never take another vehicle there again. How many people have they taken advantage of. My regular mechanic also stated that he sees customers on a regular basis who have taken their cars to Belle Tire on Alpine Avenue in Grand Rapids and regularly fraudulent quotes for astronomical amounts of money. These people should be ashamed of themselves for taken advantage of people while they are in difficult positions. I will tell anyone and everyone I talk to to never take their car to this horrible place. read more

So I call bell tire today while I was on the road i noticed my exhaust was loose and needed a clam tightened or replaced said I would be passing through in 10 to 15 minutes They said to bring it in I was there in 12 minutes for them to tell me that it would be a 2 hour wait what a bunch of bs closed my account new clamp was put on by good for for 20 bucks at firestone Will be buying my new tires but not from belle tire read more

We brought our van to the Belle Tire on Plainfield as one of our tires was wearing thin. My husband thought the van needed an alignment. The Belle Tire on Plainfield was not able to get our van up on their hoist as it is quite large. They were able to tell us that the van needed an alignment, but did not need a new tire. We were thrilled to hear that as our tire was not very old. They sent us to the Belle Tire on Alpine who gave us a completely different story. The Belle Tire on Alpine told us that we did need a new tire and an alignment. After they fixed the alignment and we paid for a new tire, my husband drove the van home. On his way home the brakes almost gave out. He called Belle Tire but they had already closed for the evening. My husband called them in the morning and they said to bring in the van. They admitted to pinching a piece of the brake line and fixed it for no charge. However, they then proceeded to tell me that the whole brake line needed to be repaired. They said that if I put any pressure on the brakes for an extended period of time, or hit the brakes hard, that they would give out. I thanked them and told them that I would have our regular mechanic look at it. We just got home from having our regular mechanic look at the van. We have used him for years and love him but he is not able to do alignments which is why we didn't go to him the first place. He said that there was absolutely no reason that the brake line needed to be changed at this point. We will never go to the Belle Tire on Alpine again, nor would we recommend it to anyone. read more
