We used to absolutely love coming here for the food- specifically the mozzerella sticks and fish and chips (cod and chips) but in recent visits they have been pretty mediocre and we are so disappointed! The fish pieces were super small instead of the big ones we used to get. We were told they were hand cut, but the plate ended up being 75% French fries. The mozzerella sticks used to be cheesy, stringy and delicious and recently were a bit chewy despite us asking for them to be fried longer. We decided to stop by here for dinner on our way back from Vancouver BC. It was late at night, this was the only place I could find to eat. It was busy on a Saturday, but the service was quick and good. We looked at the menu and smiled. Ribeye's steak was only $26 and the fish and chips were $15. My husband and I joked each other that we would probably get some tough meat or a little steak. The Fish and Chips were a plateful and the steak was a good size. I had the Fish and my husband had the Steak. The meat was grilled just right and had a nice flavor, and the fish were large and delicious. I don't think there are many places where you can get steak for $26 these days. We also ordered sandwiches and sweet potato fries to take home. However, Both the fish and chips fries and the sandwich fries were so salty that we were completely inedible. Please use less salt on the fries. read more

It was so yummy! My husband and I stopped in Saturday evening for dinner, and our server "Hot Jake" was excellent! He had some great suggestions from the menu, both for food and drinks. We had a Starburst, which tasted amazing, my husband had the Cod & Chips which was perfectly breaded, & the hand cut fries were delicious too. I had the Magnolia Chicken which was moist, the chicken and veggies were wonderfully seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I'm not entirely sure why they have as low of an average as they do, I thought this place was just darn-right decent. I mean, keep your expectations in check, it's a sports bar pub place but the prices weren't terrible, the service was good (the server was friendly and personable, so no complaints there). Yes, typical bar food. Not the biggest selection as far as some other dining choices, but the food was good, not severely overpriced and the drink choices were pretty okay. Happy hour wine was alright, not my favorite, but drinkable and did okay with the burger I had. If I was on my cheat day diet wise, there would've been more choices (I would've destroyed a plate of the cheese sticks, but those days are mostly behind me). It's 100% a sports bar. TVs, pool tables, shuffleboard ... I bet this place is hopping later in the day. We went a little earlier because we were hungry ahead of a show. Came here to play shuffle board. Went to the bar to get a drink, double well was $5(!) and find out what was required to play shuffle board. Matt told me that it's billed by the hour, $10/hr. Went over to the two tables and there was a couple there who were newbies and we invited them to play with us. Went to Matt to get the table brushed and remanded. Long story short, we didn't play because the other couple decided to play be themselves and I didn't feel like asking Matt to do another table setup again. A real bummer. When I went to checkout, Matt didn't charge me for the table since I didn't actually play. He was super nice, friendly, and worked the bar in a professional and common sense manner. Great spot for great food at a great price. Went to BBG for a late lunch when they opened at 4. They have a wide happy hour selection for food and drinks. I have been to BBG many times during the weekends for drinks and pool, but I have never ate their food. I was missing out, they have a wide food menu. And that is why the bartender called security. He was throwing a fit and punched and bit one of the security guards! I am glad he got arrested! It was completely uncalled for and her defamation of the bartender is completely uncalled for. As far as I could tell she wasn't even here! This place is amazing. They have the best happy hour in town! The service is wonderful and personable. Do they put up with irate customers? Nope. Should they? Nope. The food is wonderful. They have sirloin steaks and fried shrimp for happy hour for like $14 and my steak has always been cooked exactly to my request. $5 well doubles? Yes please. I don't love that they turn into a night club at 9, but it obviously doesn't stop me. They have pool all night long! 5 tables I think? All the staff is wonderful including the security guards. Yall are missing out on the best place in town if you havent been here. Do it! And don't listen to people who weren't even here??? Weird. Also, there are cameras all over this place. The Bar and Grill is my second home. The best customer service especially from Matt the bartender. He takes care of his customers in such a kind way. This bar is the only place my husband and I will go for our weekly date night. I've been coming here since I was 21, if it was on the weekends with bartender Moe I know he would be the sweetest human I would interact with. I can't recommend this enough to anyone who asks. If you are looking for a place that treats you like family this is it. The amount of love I have for the employees and owner is outstanding. I enjoy all the little things in life and every time I show up with my husband, Matt makes us feel like we are VIP. We can't express how much we appreciate his time and compassion. Matt has become such a true friend and genuinely cares for us. No matter how long or how short our visits are in our little booth he will catch up on our lives and laugh with us through the night. Outstanding service and delicous bar food in a covernous old store front in downtown Belligham , steps from he Mt. BAker Theater. The bar features three pool tables, yard of hardwood floors for dancing, falst screens a'plenty. Our adorable waitress was attentive and friendly. The martini my 1+ had was excellent (thought they were out of mint for the mojito she would have preffered) I had an excellent back cheesburger to accompany my Stella Artois. This place looks promising inside and out. Don't get your hopes up. The waitress tried her best to make up for the inept waiter. He was slow and indifferent. My soup and steak arrived at the table simultaneously. When I mentioned this, the waiter said you have to ask for one to come before the other. What? No. Not the way it works. Then a man--maybe the 'chef'?--came to the table and said he thought there were two people, otherwise he would have sent the soup out first. Really? Why did he think that? Get your story straight. The soup was tepid, the steak I ordered medium rare was medium and nowhere near the 12 ounces advertised. This place probably isn't bad for bar food and football. I did notice they have a wide array of "real" food items that several patrons were ordering. From what I overheard, it was "okay" A majority of the people there seem like locals. A lot of 20-something kids hand out in the pool table section, while a majority of patrons in the bar area seemed to be middle to later aged. This is a very good spot for college students and probably nobody else. There is a dangerously good drink deal on Wednesdays $1.50 for a double we'll drink. The price goes up every 30 minutes but by the time the price becomes normal, you will have got your money's worth for sure. They have some pretty cool bartenders as well. I'm tempted to downgrade them to 1 star. However, I'll be a little bit more generous. Previous reviews hinged on food. If I've been here, it's usually because I was way more hungry than thirsty. This place, B.B.G., can be two very different experiences ... a quiet one when W.W.U. is not in session, or when it's simply not busy, or a frenzied one when W.W.U. is and their students descend on this watering hole. That said, the people at the door do not know how to adjust to patrons and their demographics. They seemingly lump people into the lowest common denominator, which is to be rowdy and raise hell, forgetting that some people may be passing through town and actually want to come in there simply to get a bite to eat and something to drink. Don't interact with prospective customers who aren't even close to the "bro" zone as if they are "bros." However, since they have a captive audience and are apparently tacky and dimwitted boors, this concept probably won't even register with them. If it's really busy and college kids at a mediocre party school in a hippie town might annoy you, avoid this place. I could go with 2 stars, as in (1) for existing, and (2) for having food and drink on the premises. Or I can go with 2 stars for their acting like "low life," which I believe is two words. read more

I would not recommend. Food was sub par. I ordered the burger , it was dry very small and had no flavor, pretty sure it was a 5/1 burger I paid extra for avocado and it was rotten. My friend ordered a salad, told the server she was gluten intolerant, it came with croutons. The menu does not say it came with croutons. Jim delivered it and was told this, he took it back to be fixed and it was. He brought it out and severd it to me, I told him it was not mine. He said salad no croutons, I laughed and said it's not mine and slid it across the table to my friend. He said I'm not dealing with this and left. I understand it was probably hard to tell the difference in my friend and myself. I'm a 63 year old grey haired woman and she is a 35 year old brown haired woman so I can see how he didn't know. I understand it is hard to find help these days, there were not enough servers for the amount of business that was there. I felt bad for our server (not Jim) Rianna (SP) she was running like crazy. Gotta admit, first time actually hanging out in Bellingham and wasn't sure where to go. EXTREMELY happy with this place!! The food was fantastic and our waitress was beyond amazing!!
