My friends live near this place and recommended it for dinner one night. It's a smaller Italian restaurant that makes FRESH pasta! And it's delicious! Our server Charlie was fantastic!!! Our food was fantastic and loved all the recommendations! I can't wait to come back and try something new. Everything was so good. I wish I took more pics of everyone's dishes but we ate everything so quick!

Came for parents anniversary and first time going. Didn't think it would be busy but for a Tuesday it was lively. Service from Charlie and the manager was excellent. We had picky parents and substituted a lot and requested many sides such as butter salt pepper etc and we got it with a smile. Food wasn't rushed and definitely get a wine as it was spectacular. Food was fresh too as flour and pasta is made there so less carby and healthier. Good portions and bill was much less than expected. We will be back for more.

Based on two separate dining experiences: a Friday night and Saturday night Live music on Friday, it's quite loud (jazz/blues) so take into consideration if you're trying to have conversations. Otherwise this place seems to be always full, and reservations highly recommended if you want a booth table. Service: A+. Bread basket always comes out quick. Server checks in a couple times, not intrusive. Parmesan grated at table side. People seem to be happy working here. The second time it might've been the owner who gave us proofed dough for the kiddo to play with. Very fun sensory experience for them, the table behind us got the same thing too, in addition to kids menu coloring sheet. Food wise, never disappointing. Didn't feel over greasy, great portions. The garlic spinach was really fresh and they did not shy from the garlic either. Breaded pork cutlet was juicy and perfect. Tiramisu was flavorful, with a right hint of liqueur. Pasta is wonderful. One day we'll try the pizza.

I had the truffle pasta from here, and it was the best pasta I've ever had!! First time having fresh truffle in pasta, and it was a game changer. Prices are reasonable too and food is delicious!! All pasta is made in house which makes all the difference

What a wonderful find! This reminds me of Reales when Bobby Reale and his wife were running the show. I joined a bud for lunch and the lunch specials were excellent. I had the spicy penned chicken pasta. It was presented el dente' and had a sufficient amount of chicken. These are large portions. My dining companion ordered the pizza paninni we could have split this. He took half home. We did start with the fried calamari. The squid were lightly breaded and fried perfectly - not rubbery. Our server Sean was more than attentive and was able to provide excellent customer service. There is live music on Tuesday and Friday evenings. It's the same Frank Sinatra themed guy who plays(ed) at Reales. On Wednesday evening there is a Jazz guitar musician. They do have a full bar and some interesting wine offerings. Bellissima is delizioso!!

Sometimes in life things just do not go according to plan. My hubby and I decided to have a nice dinner this evening because I will be traveling this week. About 30 minutes before we were going to head towards the restaurant, I received this message, "Good evening, This is the host team at XXX reaching out to inform you that due to a power outage we will not be opening for business this evening." No problem...life happens. Next, we tried to grab some comfort food because at this juncture, we needed comforting. As we walked into the restaurant, a customer told us that restaurant had already closed. Yikes! The restaurant owner was kind to recommend Bellissima. Great choice! Nicole, our server, brought out piping hot fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vingegar....so delicious. Then we ordered the lamb shoulder (me) and the salmon pasta (hubby). Dinner back on track...right...wrong! Nicole came back to inform us that they had sold out of the lamb shoulder. I decided to get the salmon dish my hubby ordered. As it turns out, this was some of the best pasta we have eaten in a long time....very pleased with our dishes. The salmon tasted like it came off a wood-fired grill steaming hot (lightly crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside). The penne pasta was cooked at the right level. The pesto and creme made the pasta very enjoyable to eat. We ended the evening with a piece of Italian creme cake, which tasted like a cross between carrot and Italian cream cake. Bellissima...very beautiful experience.

Stopped in with the fam on a Friday night. The place was hopping even at 5pm, but we were seated immediately nonetheless. A sweet older gentleman was crooning Sinatra tunes. All very charming. What's most notable here is the fresh pasta. You don't see that much anymore. You can really tell the difference. It comes with an extra cost, but for an every once and while treat, it's worth it. The fresh bread and pizza crusts are also done right. We enjoyed the Cacio e Pepe, pasta carbonara, chicken Marsala, fettuccine Alfredo, and kids pepperoni pizza. Our waiter was kind and helpful, taking good care of us. It's a popular spot for a reason. If you're in the mood for a special take on Italian-American classics, come check it out.

We went to Bellissima tonight for the first time and we'll definitely be back. The ambience is lovely, perfect for a date night or special occasion but also casual enough to show up in shorts and a t-shirt if you are so inclined. There was a guitar soloist there tonight (Thursday) providing pleasant background music, which was just the right volume, not overwhelming our table conversation. First of all, the lasagna is amazing! When ordering, be sure to ask your server to add bolognese sauce on top. It makes it extra meaty and delicious! I think it was only $2 extra which was more than worth it. The lasagna serving is quite large, definitely shareable. Despite giving a big chunk of my serving to my husband, I still had enough leftover to bring home for another meal tomorrow. The lasagna noodles are made fresh and each bite melts in your mouth. Possibly the best lasagna I've ever had! My husband ordered the chicken piccata which came with a side of super cheesy and delicious Cacio e Pepe (fresh spaghetti). The serving size was very generous. He couldn't finish it all so that's on tap for tomorrow too. Our grandson ordered the penne a la vodka with chicken which he loved and took home half of his pasta. The 3 of us shared 2 chocolate covered cannolis which were so delicious! The perfect end to our meal. There is plenty of easy parking. The restaurant is located in the same shopping center as Moviehouse theater in Four Points area. Enjoy!

VG Must Stand for 'Very Gaslit'" We called ahead. Like responsible adults. We specifically asked, "Do you have vegan pasta?" They said yes. Confidently. Reassuringly. Boldly. We arrive. Suddenly? No vegan pasta. None. Never heard of it. Vegan pasta is apparently a myth, like Bigfoot or competent management. And let's discuss the menu labeling. Everything with "VG" next to it is supposedly vegan. Cute. Except it's actually vegetarian. Because why let facts get in the way of dairy? If you're going to lie, at least lie with commitment. So we pivot. They charge us an extra $3 for gluten-free pasta -- because apparently removing gluten requires a team of scientists and a government grant. What arrives? Green pesto pasta that tasted like someone rinsed the bowl after making real pesto for another table and served us the leftover water. I've had more flavor from a damp napkin. Then comes the surf and turf spaghetti. The shrimp still had the tails on. Because nothing enhances a romantic dinner like performing seafood surgery with a butter knife. And they weren't deveined. So not only are you fighting for your life with shrimp tails, you're also getting a surprise digestive gamble. But wait. There's more. They bring out oil for the bread. The oil has white flakes floating in it. Parmesan? Mold? Fossils? The ghost of dinners past? I don't know, but I do know I wasn't about to dip anything into that crime scene. Now remember -- we called ahead to confirm vegan options before driving there. The manager said he would take money off the bill for the confusion. Did he? Of course not. Apparently "I'll take care of it" means "I'll vanish and hope you forget because confrontation requires effort." And the staff? Oh. The staff. They acted like us entering the restaurant personally ruined their evening. I am so sorry we interrupted your very busy schedule of standing around and pretending refilling water is an Olympic sport. The energy was: "How dare you come here and order food from our restaurant." All of this for $50. Fifty dollars. For $50 I expect: Properly cleaned shrimp Accurate menu labeling Sauce that isn't basil-flavored bath water Oil without mysterious floating debris And employees who don't look like I just asked them to donate a kidney Instead, we got a culinary trust fall with no one there to catch us. Would I come back? I'd rather eat the parking lot gravel. At least that would be honest about what it is.

The restaurant was pretty with high ceilings and very open. Our waiter was attentive and familiar with the menu, easily answering specific questions we had. We started with salads which were very fresh and good, and I had a special of salmon with penne pasta which was delicious. My expectations for Italian food in this area are not high but Bellissima's food was delicious. Our party ordered a variety of dishes -- pizza, lasagna, veal -- and everyone raved about their dishes. We topped off the evening with one of the best key lime pies I've ever had and a special cake made with ricotta and pistachios. Very delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes

Just wanted to update after coming back several times. Still loving this location. Our go to Italian spot now. Food is always great, live music is great, service is always great. The owner was in this last time and was nice to see her checking in. We went earlier than usual around 5:30 on a Saturday and it was packed. I do suggest getting an rsvp if you have a larger crowd, we only had 2 people so they go us in fast. The one thing I could say for feedback is the olive oil they give for bread, i ordered extra bread and the amount of oil is minimal, so offering a bit more dipping oil would be nice.

    Today's special!!

Both times, the food has been spectacular, the service off the page, and the atmosphere and ambiance magnificent. We tried three mezzes last night, and each was killer. The hummus was the smoothest I've ever eaten and with the brisket, it was killer! We tried the whipped feta with pistachios, and it was special -- salty/sweet and a little something special to make you wonder just what the spice was. The lamb & beef keftas were also excellent, with the lemon rice and a nice tsadziki -- and we make keftas at home fairly regularly, so we know what a good one tastes like. The only regret that we had was that we only have one stomach each. A second would have allowed us to keep tasting... Don't miss it. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. It's one of those places that's reliable and feels pretty consistent, knowing you're going to leave happy and full after eating here. The two times we've been there, theres always plenty of seating and are able to walk right in. It's a walk in and seat yourself experience and then you pay upon leaving. The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let's talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being "buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it's easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It's rare to find a buffet that's both affordable and consistently this good! If I had one small wish, it would be for desserts to match how strong the rest of the food is. They're not bad, just a little more "fine" compared to how amazing everything else is. I've seen another Dimassi's (I think in Cali) that had a frozen yogurt machine and I'd LOVE to see that here because it would be the perfect finish! Make a cup and then crumble up some baklava on it! Overall we've LOVED it here and we'll absolutely keep coming back! Great food, clean, consistent, and worth it every time!

In my family, we really like Demassi's. Not necessarily because everything there is amazing, but…read morebecause there is genuinely something to please everyone. Between me, my husband, and my mom, we have a lot of overlap in what we like to eat, but we also have some pretty distinct preferences, and Demassi's is one of those places where that works. My husband really loves Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food. I generally do not. I tend to find the meats too dry, I don't particularly like the spice profile, and I also find a lot of dishes in that category to be overly sour. It's hard to explain, but there's often a sharp, tangy acidity that I don't enjoy. For whatever reason, I don't have that issue at Demassi's at all. Here my husband can get his fix of dry, spiced meats, while I'm happy eating from the huge selection of rice dishes, cooked veggies, and soups. As far as protein goes, I actually really like the fish here, so I almost never eat the meat and still leave satisfied. It usually feels like a healthy pescatarian day for me, which I like. Then there's my mom, who just loves the abundance and variety of a buffet. She's happiest when she can sample a little bit of everything, build plates with lots of small bites, and then go back for more. Demassi's is perfect for that. On top of all of this, it's very reasonably priced, especially for lunch or on weeknights. It's always clean, the staff is consistently courteous, and they are really on top of bussing tables, which matters a lot to me at a buffet. Dirty dishes piling up are never an issue here. We had made a reservation so as soon as we walked in we were seated inside in a booth ! The place felt cozy and comfortable as well as nice vibes ! They even offer bar seating ! They have a covered and temperature controlled patio too ! Our server was amazing and professional and answered all our questions about drinks and other stuff ! The cocktail were amazing - I was curious about their onion bagel drink I think that's what's it's called and my server got me a sampler ... definitely I went with something else . We ordered few dips and appetizers and 2 entrees! Everything was delicious! To end the night we got the Krembo dessert and OMG it's a must try !! Can't wait to ge back soon !!

They were happy to chat with us without forcing conversation. As a group of 3 we ordered the traditional hummus, whipped bulgarian feta, beet tahini, the cucumber labne, falafel, pan fried halloumi and baklava apple pie for dessert. The group was not what I would call big eaters so we had leftovers (we likely should have ordered 1 less dish), they recommend 2-3 dishes per person (dips and meze). The hummus was decent, but I would not feel the need to order it again, the bulgarian feta was delicious and was tied with best dish of the night with the falafel. The falafel had perfect texture, crispy on the outside without cutting your mouth and soft on the inside. The beet tahini just tasted like beets and nothing else so I would not get that again. The cucumber labne was tasty and the halloumi was the only dish I took a bite of and would not take another. The texture of the cheese was rubbery, so despite having a crunchy exterior and delicious sauce underneath, I found the halloumi to be extremely disappointing. I am not a chef, but if they simply grilled the halloumi and served it on top of the sauce I think it would be much better. Desserts are not my thing but my friends enjoyed it even though they admitted the baklava apple pie was painfully sweet. I liked that it came with labne ice cream to make it a bit different. Overall it was a nice meal, the ambiance is modern and clean and the service was fantastic. A good spot for a nice dinner out.

One of my favorite restaurants is Peace Bakery & Deli. This place is one of those true Austin gems…read more It's casual, friendly, and serving seriously flavorful Middle Eastern food. For my main dishes, I usually go with the lamb shank and sometimes the beef shawarma. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, and perfectly seasoned. It comes with a generous portion of rice that soaks up all those savory gravy, making every bite incredibly satisfying. The beef shawarma is thinly sliced, well-marinated, and packed with that classic shawarma flavor. It had the perfect balance of spices, and the portion size was no joke. Paired with their fresh pita and sides, it's easily one of the best shawarmas I've had in Austin. My favorite sides are the potatoes (must get), beet salad, tabouleh, hummus, and babaganoush. Pro-tip: ask for half sides, so basically you can choose up to 4 things instead of 2 full regular sides. The half side portions end up to be almost a full sized side. Pita comes with the meals and their desserts are good too. Service is quick, and the staff is kind. Whether you're grabbing something to-go or sitting down for a hearty meal, Peace Bakery & Deli is a must-try for anyone who loves Middle Eastern cuisine. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

The staff member that I dealt with was personable, pleasant, etc. Only one negative--I wish I could give the place a 4.5, but I don't think a 4 is fair--After I indicated that I was finished eating and ready for the bill (maybe I didn't communicate it so clearly?), it seemed to take quite a while before they came with the check. Otherwise, great food! (I did not try the hookah at all.) Oh, I forgot to mention: I was served a bottle of spring water rather than a bottle of "purified" water. That was fairly impressive.

The hardwood ceiling and the glass window in front of me seemed to amplify sound from every direction. I was with a group of six men, and none of us could hear each other. As the noise increased, every table seemed to raise its volume just to communicate, and it became painful. The food had a BBQ flavor, which was different for Mexican food. Some people may like that, but it was not what I expected. It was 4 star food. I think sitting outside would probably be much better.
