Fresh pastries, breads, and a solid menu (my favorite salad). Good rustic style fries. What's not to love? They have a little outdoor seating. I absolutely love this place! Downsides: not a ton of seating, plus they stop serving the menu at 3pm. You can buy whatever baked goods they have left from the day until 5 PM. Lastly I will say, I've had lovely service here, as well as some real duds. It's hit and miss. Just young kids who can't even make eye contact or smile mostly. Am I being too picky now, lol? My wife enjoyed it. Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie - This was salted alright! Tasted exactly like the name. No fault of this bakery, but I chose wrong! Stopped in for bread yesterday and shock! No line! Good timing I guess. I've been trying to revive my frozen sourdough starter from the co-vid era but failed miserably. I guess preheating your oven to 350 with your sourdough starter in the oven (by mistake) was not a good idea. So, while at Beloved Bakery I inquired about the possibility of purchasing a small batch of sourdough starter. Which is what I had done from Perren years ago. The baker politely declined that option but happily said they'd "give" me a tablespoon! I politely declined thinking surly that wouldn't be enough. My phone call to my daughter on the ride home has changed my mind. Apparently that IS enough. I'll happily request my tablespoon of starter on my next visit. On another note, it's come to my attention that not all of the bread at Beloved Bakery is sourdough. Some is "yeasted" sourdough and some, not at all sourdough. I prefer the 100% sourdough. They have such an amazing selection of breads so there's something for everyone. The outdoor seating area is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy a Breakie or lunch soirée. Beloved's has so many options for breakfast. Sweet, salty, pasties or a full breakfast. My friend and I ordered a couple of pastries to try and all of them were delicious. There's the option to bring home bread as well, and there are a lot of options. The place itself is so open and beautiful and there's space inside and outside to eat! What's with the uncomfortable "Vibe" in some of these coffee shops towards older customers?? Why not be more "Customer Friendly" regardless of the customers' age? Stopped by Saturday morning and, as expected, there was a steady line of 10+ people (only 6 allowed inside at a time for pickups). Luckily, the line moved quickly and the staff was friendly and efficient. The selection was impressive even at 10am--everything looked amazing and it was hard to choose! The Ube White Chocolate Cookie was soft, flavorful, and perfectly captured that rich ube taste. The Matcha Supreme was flaky and creamy with a smooth matcha filling, and the Persimmon Supreme added a lovely honeyed sweetness with its vanilla cream center. Both supremes had that perfect croissant balance--soft, crispy, and beautifully flaky. So delicious! Overall, a must-visit bakery for fresh, inventive pastries. The gravy and seasonings in general.... Savory is an understatement when I tell you that your perfectly triple cooked potatoes don't need ketchup. Alone this meal makes for a texturally pleasing meal. As the steak even though it's delicious in a perfect medium rare inner cut, is thick enough to get perfectly breaded on the outside and marries perfectly to an herbaceous sauce of a gravy that if you get a runny yolked egg like I did, it gives you the trifecta of savory, texturally, and perfectly priced for the experience you get. The bread and baked goods are excellent, no one can argue with that. We were pretty underwhelmed with the entrées however. we've been back a few times. Our goal in going there was to find a good regular new brunch place and I don't think this is quite met the bill. They weren't bad, but they weren't memorable either and the portions were small. I think to make it a great brunch place they need to iterate on the menu a little bit. I'm going to wait a few months and then give it another shot. Coffee drinks were good. I was visiting Reno and found this gem! The place is unassuming in a shopping center. The line can be a bit much but goes decently fast. There were sooooo many amazing options even vegan or gluten free ones. I couldn't just pick one or two and clearly couldn't wait to take a bite before snapping a photo. Stopped by Beloved around 7:30 this morning to grab a baguette for dinner and had one of our most pleasant visits yet. My family absolutely loves Beloved, but we've always had two small complaints: the Supreme rolls were rarely out early in the morning (usually not until after 9 or 10), and occasionally the counter service felt a bit unfriendly and sometimes rude. Today, they knocked it out of the park. Everyone was incredibly friendly and genuinely happy to chat with customers, and--best of all--they already had three Supreme flavors available, along with a large selection of other pastries, especially impressive for this early in the morning. I'm so happy to see the effort they've made to address these small things because they truly elevate the entire experience. Beloved already has the ambiance perfected, with plenty of relaxed seating both inside and out. It's truly a special gem here in Reno. My family always seeks out new bakeries when we travel, and we inevitably find ourselves comparing them to Beloved's perfectly buttery, light, and crispy pastries. Was visiting Reno for the weekend and was looking for the best croissant in the area! Reddit recommended this so had to give this bakery a try and so glad I did! I didn't actually end up getting a croissant since they were out of their almond croissants but ended ordering their savory danish and pain suisse! They were so perfectly flaky and soft at the same time and so delicious!!! It was so good that I had to order another pastry and got their chocolat pecan pain suisse! This was also sooo tasty!! I had been in the mood for a chocolate croissant for years, but never quite got around to a competitor's store. I've been back twice since my initial review and both times was really impressed with the variety and creativity of the pastries and other sweet treats on offer. I was also surprised that the owner sent me a personal follow-up after my first review--totally unnecessary but appreciated all the same. On the most recent visit in particular, I found the vibe of the team behind the counter very upbeat, and they hustled to fill our order even though there wasn't a line. Some of the folks there have tended a little more toward the reserved side of the reserved/energetic spectrum, but I chalk that up to how seriously they take their work :). The real star is the quality of the food. My wife found her prosciutto and cheese sandwich--especially the baguette--to be what she's been looking for ever since she spent time in France during college, in terms of the flavor, chewiness, and crunch, and while I felt the coffee in my cortado was average in flavor, it was prepared with care and perfectly complemented the burrata-and-egg bialy and flourless chocolate cookie I got. All in all, I don't think there's any comparison anywhere in Reno (or California for that matter) for the experience of eating breakfast and lunch at Beloved's. read more

My husband and I got the Breakfast Bialy ($7, which has egg, burrata, chives and chili oil), Pain Suisse ($7, which is a chocolate croissant with pastry cream) and Bear Claw ($6). We tried the Breakfast Bialy first and immediately knew this was something special once we had our first bite. So, to begin.. What this old Shoppers Square location used to be and is now is really a triumph. New life has reclaimed this once dismal little, mostly vacant mall into something outstanding is so great. Beloved's is located out in front of the Reno Public Market on Plumb Lane directly to the right of the Main entrance to the Food Court portion of the Mall. I had heard of this bakery long before I had a chance to try it. It's quite busy most of the time. My friend and I managed to get in rather quickly and before the Mid day rush. The ladies behind the counter were very helpful in explaining the operation of the ordering and the items themselves. My friend wasn't overly hungry so we decided to share a sandwich which was Italian based with thinly sliced meats and cheese on a wonderfully crisp and deliciously thin bread. We both remarked on how good it was. I decided to pair it with a Spicy Mexican Mocha on ice which was delicious with a slight kick. I also wanted so badly, A croissant , I went home with an amazing Pistachio cream filled one that was especially yummy which I devoured after arriving. The bakery is very simply decorated with bench seating with a view of the back kitchen, racks of bread and cases filled with lovely pastries. We both enjoyed it and will definitely return. The food was good. We both had Eggs Benedict, her Chorizo and tomato, me, the Smoked Salmon. It was not very warm when it got to us, a little cooler than I would have prefered and the eggs were over cooked. I'm pretty sure the eggs yolks are supposed to be slightly runny. The sauce was very good though. The potatoes were amzing and the side of Arugula with dressing was a nice addition. But, the star of the show was their pastries, especially the Chocolate Croissant! "To die for!" The cappuccino was small but good and the wife's Earl Grey tea was the best I ever tasted. Worth the cost. The clincher was that they gave me a good bit of their sourdough starter. It was busy but they kept the line moving fairly quickly. The employees are friendly. I had the burger with fries. The sauce on the burger was very delicious. This place is amazing and Reno (and my waistline) are so lucky that they're not located in Vegas or I'd be here daily. Walking up to the door there was a sign that said to limit to 6 people inside. ?? I thought maybe it was a fire code thing and therefore expected it to be a small area for ordering only, but there were small tables off to the side. It was a little off-putting and unwelcoming. I had my heart set on trying a dipped Croix and some of the other pastries that were posted on Yelp but the selection was mostly croissants. I tried the cardamon and orange morning bun... it was delicious! It wasn't dry and the amount of soft/crisp was done just right. I will go back and give them another shot next time we are in town. 4 stars for food flavor 3 stars for vibe we felt walking up. read more

Beloved's Bakery is such a cute spot to grab breakfast in the Reno area. The pastry is good but the real standout is their creative flavors and their beautiful creations. I got a French onion soup croissant and it was unlike anything I've ever had before, it was so flavorful and fresh I absolutely loved it. I also got a pain suisse filled with delicious chocolate and crème pâtissière. Both pastries were also gorgeous. My dad and brother liked their pastries too (a croissant and another pain suisse), and as an incredibly sweet bonus, I realized they had put an extra croissant in my box which really meant a lot ! The only slight issue I had was that it took a while to get our coffee drinks ready despite the fact that there wasn't anyone waiting before us, but it seemed like the barista was training someone which was understandable.
